Today brought me my 50th graduate to ADM and a strange and interesting set of faves. Unfortunately with just an Ex in DEC and ATT for a 27 FE Striker means I can't use him, and his known faves, for a tourney warrior.
Tiger Pride -----> 12(2)-3-15-16-17-10-13 ST Great Damage (after first train, 2nd was a maintenance train)/ norm End +4 INI -1 DEC
Faves:
SS; MO/LO; Lunge and Responsiveness tactics; RIP learn
Thought he was a QS fave as I just gave it to him a few turns back and he threw a high % of crits compared to the LO and SS. With 11 RIP;12 INI;10 ATT;10 DEC learned I had no guess on learn.
Question is has anyone had a L/S combo ST (with a Lunge weapon) and has anyone tried the tactics together? Lunge tactic means he's always moving Response means he's always waiting to see an opening. This guy must be bipolar!

A very interesting one, which we do not believe we have seen before.

Cool favorites, Street Legal!
I have a similar warrior who is SS Slash/Response. While I have figured out that SS/Slash works just fine, I haven't dared to use both the offensive and defensive tactics at the same time. I'm a minimalist when it comes to Duel2 strategy, so I'll stick to one or the other for now.
Best of luck figuring it out!

Street I like the Faves. I would even give that a try to see what happens.

My very first grad was a ST and he got the LO for a weapon with Slash/Responsiveness. I was always afraid to use them together until he got into the "Adept equivalent" level in ADM and was seeing some TPs and WoS he couldn't beat (no surprise in ADM right!). I tried the tactics together against a TP and he lasted twice as long (responsiveness rumored to have an even better endurance save than Parry tactic) and was able to beat those warriors about 40% of the time rather than about 20-25%.
I can understand OABs sentiment entirely but I'm wondering if anyone has an opinion on this: If you have a 2 tactic warrior does he get the supposed bonus from running either tactic or does he need to use both tactics to get that bonus?
Oh and since not everyone may have the '86 rules addendum I'll add this for OAB and others:
Short Spear- The Mordant national weapon, the shortspear, is approximately 3 1/2 feet in length. The spear point has a very slight curve to it. It can be thrown (but not in basic DUELMASTERS) and requires only one hand to use effectively. Because of the spear point's slight curve, it makes an inadequate but usable slashing weapon.

Forgot to mention another idiosyncrasy about this guy. Not only is RIP his favorite learn he is either -3 or 4 RIP. So that is +4 INI;-3/4 RIP;-1 DEC. His record was 16-11-2. He will likely go for his 3rd kill, THE DEATH SQUAD's 40th, in the Dark Arena testing the Lunge Responsiveness combo minute 1 10-4-6, just Lunge minute 2 6-4-6, and just responsiveness desperation 6-4-5. Middle minutes will alternate just Lunge and just Responsiveness with minute 6+ (doubtful to last that long) with both tactics.
If your interested in how he did check the arena 14 NL or I will try and give specific details as to how he did here when I get the fight back.

OK so I sent this guy to fight by Torchlight for his final fight. It would have been more interesting to see him match up with a tougher opponent than the Dark Champion but at least it wasn't the easiest of Dark Arena foes.
Minute 1: 10-4-6 Lunge - Responsiveness using his fave SS (17 ATT 19 DEC skills at time of fight)
There was a clash to start the fight then I took over and never let Dark Champion swing (24 INI skills and first attack led to a knockdown no less).
8 Attacks (4 normal 4 crit) and only 1 was parried (a normal attack). Fight lasted until minute 2 but the beginning of minute 2 is when the WL check occurred leading to 1 final attack and the kill.
Hard to tell but he at least attacked and maintained the attack; he could've hesitated, I suppose, and given his opponent an oppurtunity to stand up and possibly attack but didn't. The 2 tactics were successful but a very limited cross-section, especially considering the knockdown.
He did pick up another RIP skill and got his expert so he's -3 RIP. Giving him +4 INI/-3 RIP/-1 DEC.

And thanks to Mad Wand for picking/joshing on an old fella and Street for defending him, The Consortium will add another semi-useless post.
