Which would you prefer? The maul or the halberd? I don't think I have ever used a halberd in any of my matches. If I did, it was so long ago that I couldn't remember.

That is why I have to say I love the maul.

Who wouldn't find using a tree sized baseball bat to smash your opponent's bodies to jelly.

Opinions?

The Maul seems to be surprisingly quick and Assur says it's a pretty good parry weapon I think. It's main drawback is unreal endurance burn, as does the Halberd; not sure which is worse from my experiences. The HL just seems so devastating to me and I think even Plate has fairl minimal effect in defense against it. I've used the HL with a few LUs but never without them having a 17 ST, I assunme it likely has a pretty bad unsuited hosing component but no evidence of it.

The ML is far easier with a 15 ST (36 combined ST/SZ/WT/DF stat requirement) to have a warrior who is able to use it. The HL you need a 17 ST and a 9 WT AND a 11 DF (46 combined) leaving little else for numbers; also pretty slow so you need some SP or DEC skills learned. I think I lean to a preference of HL but have much more experience with the ML than with the Lance with a chopping axe and spike on the end (HL).

Halberd (HL): The Mordant halberd is remarkably unwieldy, requiring tremendous strength to use well, but it is an adequate thrusting weapon, and a devastating smashing weapon. The halberd is a two-handed weapon.

Fun to use it against a TP with a 17 ST LU when you have to worry little about getting the jump Exclamation Cool

In basic, ML. Much better all purpose weapon.

In ADM, HL. Much better damage.

Judging from "part one" I seem to be against the grain on the weapons topics...I have a feeling I will be here also. I love the halbard...against heavily armored opponents - I don't think I've ever used it against anything lighter than ARM. I think both weapons are slow, but halbard can do more damage and the crits are so cool!
