Hello everyone! Just returning, it's been a number of years. I ordered overviews for my characters and I was happy to see a couple of them only eligible for primus which used to be a happy thing. The eligible tourney's be remotely interesting and fighting in adm keeping the record pretty. From the looks of the newsletters this does not appear to be the prevailing thought process. So my question is simple, why fight primus if you don't have to? |

Advantages of moving to Primus:
- 'faster' training rate
- can learn 5 additional skills per area (many eligibles have learned some of these additional skills when they fight in the eligibles tournament) |

Increased learning.
In the Primus arena (as well as the Contenders and Primus tourney classes), warriors can learn "gateway" skills, 5 additional skills in each category and relearn previously burnt skills. In addition, skill learning is quicker, overall, and training stats is easier. While in ADM, the first three trains are easy before it gets progressively tougher. In Primus, the first five trains are easy before it gets progressively tougher. In addition, the minimum training chance is supposedly higher in Primus than it is in ADM for those really tough trains.
So while moving Eligibles to the Primus arena will result in lots of losses, you can often better prepare them for the Eligibles tourney class there. So its a trade-off, but running warriors in Primus does have its advantages. |

Thanks for the quick replies! Sounds like gateway is gone and there is a knew tourney class "contenders". So since I already ran a turn in darkholm can anyone tell me when I can move to primus? Isn't it like twice a year or something? |

There is a split that occurs a few weeks after each mail-in tourney. So usually the beginning of May and the beginning of November. |

Also it's the only way to participate in the King of Primus contest! |

It was my understanding that you can't learn gateway skills in eligibles tournaments? I even tried it last year and got the "cannot learn any more skills" message.
As for the OP, I usually won't send anyone to Primus until they're dragged there kicking and screaming. |

correct - you can't learn primus skills in the eligible tourney
what OAB is saying is that you can learn the extra skills in the Primus arena and then still fight in the eligible tourney provided you don't go over the line |
