Sandy gave me my stats for my guy I want to run this coming tourney.
8-12-9-17-7-10-21
I was running him naked with 2 daggers. I recall he was aimbidextrous and had the comment can use a weapon in both hands.
I was running him 10-10-X first minute then slowing down. Won his first fight. Been about even w/l since then. Couldn't figure out how to get him to run like I thought they should.
What would be a recoomended strat for this guy?

Just because it says he is ambi doesn't mean you should use two weapons. Two weapons is slower then 1 weapon. The main reason a warrior uses an off-hand weapon is for defense, not offense.
Sounds like you were running him correctly. With AB like this you need to win as quickly as possible. Less in armor and weapons the better his chances are. Swing first and swing last is what you want.
What tourney class?
Hope you get him back, but don't count on getting him back anytime soon. It took me about a dozen dead tourneys or not until mine had nearly 170 total skills before I finally got my AB back that is similar to yours.

Thanks for the reply.
Sandy said fight exp was 3. Not sure what rank I'll be in. This should be his third tourney from what I remember.
Wish there was a simple list of what the new standards are.
What about running with just a single HA,not sure if that is faster than a DA? I seem to remember HA's break less often.
I think your strategy is a sound one, except I agree with Visionist, that you have to ask yourself why you are using 2 weapons. Using an off-hand tends to help your defensive abilities (in particular, parry) and hurt your offensive abilities.
Regarding tourney classes, here are the basic classes (a warrior's class is determined by their FE at the time of the tourney):
Quote:
The Challengers Tournament -- DM warriors with 31+ fights as of the Tournament
The Champions Tournament -- DM warriors with 21+ fights as of the Tournament
The Adepts Tournament -- DM warriors with 11-20 fights as of the Tournament
The Initiates Tournament -- DM warriors with 5-10 fights as of the Tournament
The Apprentices Tournament -- DM warriors with 1-4 fights as of the Tournament
The Rookies Tournament -- DM warriors with 0 fights as of the Tournament
10-10-x with a single DA (and a back-up DA) seems like a solid strategy for your warrior against most styles.
You might consider using an alternate strategy vs Strikers (and maybe Slashers and Bashers) who are likely to be faster than you. You might try the EP (which gives a Riposte bonus) or the Fist (which gives a Dodge bonus), using an OE that might be your favorite (low or mod, preferably), a little more armor, and the Riposte tactic against Strikers and possibly other pure offensives. Something like main hand EP, no back-up, ARM/L, 5-10-x-Rip; or FI, ASM/L, 4-10-x-Rip, as examples. Some people prefer to run no armor in conjunction with the FI and Dodge tactic, in order to maximize Defense. Lots of finesse options are available for the style.
Going 10-10 is great if you get the jump, but not so great if your opponent does, as the 10 OE hurts your defensive abilities.

I think the others have covered the strat part well enough. My thought for you, sir, is for you to ask Sandy for a copy of your e-minis. She will send you a list of ALL your warriors you ever had, live and dead, The mini overview gives you your basic info on your warrior, name, ID#, record, FE, recog pts, stats, all statements on the overview EXCEPT the wit statements, arena number, skill ratings if they have any. It won't give you the skills by number, just breaks ie: EXPERT, ADVANCED EXPERT.....
Most of all, welcome back. Hope to see you in either 21 or 32

Lugal, it would behoove you to read the DM93 newsletters. As a training arena, there are MANY articles and posts and info which would help you. The questions you have asked here and many more are addressed. It makes for great reading and teaching. (See the back issues of DM93 on this site.)
