I totally agree. He tourney preps, he's a tourney manager. Thanks to the new freeze system warriors fight to break points and stop. You can't blame anybody for taking that approach any more than you could blame them for doing the opposite.
In the BR, that plays to your advantage. In the old system, you absolutely knew your opponent was going to run post-freeze so you could ambush him accordingly and there was nothing he could do about it because he had to time past the freeze date. In this version, it's a lot easier for a tournament manager to do well.
I'm pretty sure that Doc would agree that his score is simply unacceptable, tourney prepping or not. He was a lot more active in the earlier turns, so I do think his focus for the contest has changed somewhere during the contest. That said, it is a long contest, and in BRII or something, Doc rebounded from a negative score to finish second.

Hmm, I think everyone is overlooking the fact that maybe Doc Steele doesn't give a damn about this contest. Perhaps he has better things to do at this point in time.

First off it was said to the Consortium, and second of all (and I'm fully confident your little minds will wrap around this) a turn has not run in 18 since my post. So don't go telling me I'm cowering in this forum, get your head out of your proverbial orifices.
I wasn't a majo0r player in the invasion? Good then everyone can take back all that "you started this, with help from Adie" crap I always here. I was a player and Doc came almost specifically to see if I'd cower from him. He even challenged me to come back to 18 and get what I had coming. I killed his guy in 11, when he said I would never come after his DC'ers because I was a coward, and I killed his guy in 18 and he never even BF'ed the result. I said lackluster, look up the word, I'm implying he is not putting in much effort to his home arena's contest.
You think I cower from him? P'shah it's a freakin' game, I think everyone who's responded on this matter other than the DUUMies will say I back down from noone, and I seem to live by what I've always said: I challenge the best because when you beat them it gives you more satisfaction.
BTW, Doc said he was going to come in and not only OWN Aruak but NOBODY was going to treat him like we supposedly did with newbies (ie gang up on them). Well you know what he was not totally accurate so I merely stated fact. He's top 3 manager regardless I'm not claiming otherwise, and ANgUS look for my PA to Doc next turn. !ll you can just kiss my ass!

You still live in that little dream reality about 11. That's cool. To each his own I guess, but he's still there and I'm sure he's still running his guys however he wants. Sounds more like, if anything, the struggle is still ongoing.
Glad to see our comments have convinced you to finally take the initiative and say something to Doc's face in Talcama instead of behind his back here. Can't wait to read it!

Jeez, Street, it's not worth all that anguish and continuing the thread. These guys are right in that this is a DM18 "discussion", and the DM11 stuff is better left for a separate spot.
We shouldn't have started this line with what we did, which was presumed to be specifically directed at Doc, but really wasn't.

Consortium-
I know you did not direct it at him but I know you've thrown some PAs at him in 11 so I was playing it up between us, it was everyone else stating I was a coward that spurred the response. For people who say that I always start $#!( with everyone there are a few that specifically target every word I say, perhaps a mirror check is in order for them.
Angus-
I am still the 14 year old kid, sometimes, who started playing this game in '85 otherwise I wouldn't keep playing. And actually he has pretty much stopped playing at all in 11, and he gave a very respectable reason which I give him full credit for but there was alot said of forum that you may not be aware of. Regardless I respect his abilities as a manager and he seems to be a decent person but as I said I still like to be the "Bad guy" that I was when I started the game so sometimes it comes forth!

It's all a ploy to keep you from getting close to the top of the leader board.

Well it is very effective. I also like how someone is submitting strats for my guys with very stupid challenges. Brilliant sabotage on your guys part!
