Hurricane Katrina

I saw an article where a man, identified as "a black man," suggested that the Hurricane was sent from God to punish the black people committing crimes and killing each other in New Orleans. (NO, really, this article is in the Bham News today or maybe it was Drudge Report...)***EDITED AND ADDED LINK BELOW***

I thought it was absurd but then....I got to thinking....

God killed the sinners in Sodom and Gamorra.....

and since we all know Jesus is blonde haired and blue-eyed....

stranger things have happened...Bookie has a girlfriend and I'm single!!!!

My favorite theory is that it was clearly a Government Weather Manipulation Weapon that went awry.

Human kind at it's lowest point. Democracy at it's lowest point.

I just hope that they keep the rapists and gun crazed crack addicts contained to h-town because if they come any further up I35 I think I'm moving to Utah.

Utah is where I made my home for most of my life. You will only find polygamists and xenophobes there...but luckily not too many of those that you mentioned.

On a more serious note, anyone know of any DM players who were in Katrina's path? I couldn't think of any of the regular players that I know that live in that area, but statistically there had to have been a couple...

I wasn't in the path of the hurricane, but my house is now full of family members who have lost their homes and belongings in the storm. There are 9 total family member that have fled up here. My aunt, uncle, two cousins, one cousin in law, and 4 of my cousins children( ages 5, 2, 2, and 1). We are also housing their pets, 2 dogs (german shepherd and chocolate lab) and 2 cats. We have found out that my aunt and uncles house is somewhere between 3-10 feet underwater. My cousin Teresas house is most likely in the same condition. My cousin Shannon and her husband Clay, their house did not get flooded yet, but they have had some debris damage (falling trees and such). We here, are just happy to have them safe. I, as well as, the rest of my family hold all of everyone left in the destroyed area as well as those who have gotten out in our prayers. Good luck to everyone and God Bless.

P.S. There are many support organizations out there, please help by giving anything that you can to support the hurricane relief efforts.

P.S.S. I will be taking a brief break from Duel2 in effort to focus more of my resources towards helping out. I will miss all of you for the time I will be gone. I wish you all well and good game.

Then you would have to deal with the militant mormons and their guns. Stay safe in Houston (I'm assuming).

Obviously, some things in life are more important than DM2. I actually won some extra money up in Vegas this weekend, which half is going to Baptist Missions (they give 100% to victims for food and clothing, while everyone working is volunteering) along with the origional donation I have already sent.

I challenge everyone to at least give one dollar to help. I'm sure there are jars inside your grocery or wal-mart where you can drop your change in after shopping. It may be idyllic, but if we all give $1 in this nation, there will be a lot of help for the region. Of course, I'm giving the dollar mark as a benchmark. Some of us can give more, others may not be able to but still feel compelled to give more.

One less whopper at the BK;
One week without the paper;
One less drink at the bar...

Y'all are intelligent enough. Y'all get the picture.

We have an alliancemate in the state of LA but I believe further north and contact is maintained with this member. Thank God! We can't take another tragedy in the VC!
