Just for fun, since we know we woon't get 'em lets see weapons you guys would like to see added to the game and thier requirements for use, styles that can use them, etc.
Katana- 9-3-13-13, ST, SL, LU, WS, AB, PR, PS, and PL, replaces Scimitar as Slasher classical.
Sai- 5-3-15-17, ST, TP, LU, WS, AB, and PR, rreplaces Quarterstaff for Aim Blow classical weapon giving them a one-handed classical.
Nunchukas- 7-3-13-11, WS and ST,
The sai would be practical and realistic to the game since the egyptians used them thus Romans had knowledge of the weapon, the other two are just whimsical. |

I read somewhere recently that Nunchukas were first introduced early 20th century, as a way to practice martial arts or something. They were never, at least according to what I was reading, used in war, duels, or really any other kind of fighting.
I love the Katana.
How about the trident? Always see a glad using a trident and sometimes a weighted net in arenas. -Jan |

Yea, nunchukas are a relativly new weapon, I just think they would make a great waste weapon. A relativly weak swing can still break bones. Imagine a strong one. |

How about we just make an oriental version of DM and then just implement the oriental weapons into that game.
Katana for Scimitar
Sai for Shortsword
Naginata for Halberd
etc
etc |

What about the swordbreaker? Greatly increase the chance of shattering an opponent's weapon, perhaps a parry bonus, etc. I'm just putting this out there for fun.
Also, feedback on how a trident would effect combat in DM would be welcome. -Jan. |

We could incorporate some weapons from other cultures also, such as the mysterious creature known as the Southern Belle Domestic Goddess who wielded the dreaded Cast Iron Skillet.
The must be some bash criticals attatched to that thing.
To be serious - the javelin or any type of thrown weapon could also be included...
Jan - the trident and net were very popular in the roman gladiator games, as were a wide variance of swords including the 'gladius' and the Thracian 'sica'. |

Personally, we all think there are plenty to choose from, they are reasonably realistic, and we would not waste any effort on adding weapons (as opposed to other changes/corrections) if we were them. (RSI)
But the discussion on weapons is quite interesting.
How about a heat sinking missle for one of Managerr's scum? |

What are the chances of that actually working? I mean his motionless TP would be clad in cold steel which could "possibly" lower its body temperature. Also, the poor lunger exhausting himself against said scum would "possibly" increase his own body temperature and thusly be targeted by the missle.
Then again considering they are tuned to lock on to the heat signatures and UV shadows of jets I'm not sure it would work at all. However, if we could figure out a way to mount wings to his armors, set his scum on fire, then catupult them a mile or so into the air we may have a feasible plan! |

This is a little case of the pot calling the kettle black, I think. |

I had thought of the sword breaker the other day, i like the idea of a weapon made just to break other weapons.
I think a trident could be a great lunger weapon if given an increased ability to disarm the opponent. Catching swords and such in the three prongs an tearing it away. The same can be said for sai.
Don't need oriental version for sai, Egyptians used them. Thus Romans had them. |
