For those interested, a Duel 2 group has finally been created in Facebook.
If we're serious about trying to recruit new managers, this is a possible way to help get it done. In addition, Facebook has a lot of other features we could put to good use. |

For us old-dogs-can't-learn-new-tricks, computer semi-illiterate, facebook-unafficianados, how does one check this out? |

how about posting a link or giving the group name? When one does a search for 'Duel 2' over 500 possibilities come up...... |

If I do a search for "Duel2" with no space in between the Duel and the 2, I only get two matches, one of which is the new group. |

That's a good question! Why don't we all brainstorm and come up with some brilliant recruitment tactics?
One idea might be to post some short INTERESTING videos from the F2F this weekend... perhaps someone reading an entertaining fight or posting the fight itself, in print?
What are some of the things that hooked YOU on Duelmasters? |

I don't remember...I was in middle school and it seemed like a good idea. It was all so long ago. I have a vauge recollection of some Metallica albums and the theme from "the facts of life"....
In all seriousness: We need to seek out those in similarly themed gaming groups and post the link. I'm sure that in the vastness that is Facebook, we will find some likely new meat...I mean fresh talent. |

If you want to attract new people ... NOT posting a FTF video link would help ... Who wants to see 28 people in a hotel ballroom shuffling papers around?
Maybe posting sample fights ... sample newsletters etc ...
The problem is , as I see it , not the game but the age we live in. Few people other than those of us who were hooked long ago would bother with a PBM game... You mean I have to wait 2 weeks to see what happens? Huh? In the age of instant gratification and MMO games the mechanics of DuelII just cant compete for those players dollars.
I mean even games like D&D are moving to a digital platform ...
I love DuellII ... I think its a testament to the players and RSI that its lasted this long ... I mean , jeez , I have been playing since 1985 ... more than 2/3's of my life thus far ... I honestly hope its lasts another 25 years... I just see it as a huge uphill battle to bring in new players and new life into the game. |

As others have mentioned before, the key is less finding new managers, but instead recapturing those who have played but for one reason or another left. Anything we can do to make it easy to find is good - any way we can contact old managers is great. I have no idea how to do that. |

Nomad .... As for finding old managers .... Facebook is a darn good vehicle for that ... I know I am friends with at least 5 or 6 managers that no longer play , who are all on Facebook.
I shot them all messages to check out the group .... hopefull they will. |
