After 24 years, it looks like Wasteland 2 might finally be a reality. Brian Fargo, one of the original creators of Wasteland, got the rights to the franchise and is looking for fan funding for the game.
The goal was to hit $900,000 (he's going to donate $100,000 of his own money to put it at $1 million total), and after donations opened yesterday, they're already up to $681,492. The cutoff date is April 17th, so I think they just might make it.
There are different tiers of donations, so if you feel like donating a little ($1 is the minimum but starting at $15, you'll get a digital copy of the game) or a lot, you'll get something worthwhile.

They're up to $850,000, so $900K by tonight is definitely possible!

at about $1,037,000 now....
never played the game - honestly - I'd never even heard of it - stopped playing PC games around 1990ish - huge fan of Wizardry and Ultima IV / V
Big fan of the Fallout serious though

Pretty amazing that the interest is so high. Great idea, hope it happens. The biggest reason why I will not buy the game now for $15 is that there does not seem to be any accountability for the money. The chance of this game not getting finished is, in my mind, quite high. I'll pay full price when it is released...
