I had to lift this from a post on the Road of Kings (HW boards) as it's both funny and sad at the same time!

Let me say my interaction with Canadians has been nothing but awesome, for the most part, but living in Detroit I used to travel to Casino Windsor 2 to 3 times a week for about 2 years. My experience with the Canadian border guards was less than positive quite a few times so this story hits home. The US border guards were a bit abrupt as well but being American the interactions into Canada were always more in depth than coming back home, coming home it was basically "Where did you go in Canada? How long were you there? Anything to Declare like cash over $10,000?"

So here you go. This is a CBC radio host interviewing a border guard placed in charge of training their guards to be more personable and friendly.

Just hit the listen button to the right of the paragraph! I think you'll find this "ironic"! Laughing

You do realize that Peter Oldring is a Comedian, not a newsreporter or Radio Host. The program this is from "Thisisthat" is considered a comedy show.

Don't ruin the ruse damn it! Laughing

Ah well hopefully I got a few people before they caught on. I'm from Detroit I'm somewhat familiar with the show and I thought it was funny.

I do love our little Canadian friends! I've really had nothing but good experiences in Canada and at the Detroit Casino's with Canadian's who come here. My Dad was born in Niagra-on-the-Lake and lived there until he was 4 when my Grandparents, who came from Ukraine in 1939, moved to Detroit. He always says he could hold Triple Citizenship since it was a "colony" of Great Britain when he was born so he could have US, Canadian, and British citizenship if he chose to do so!

The house my Grandfather built, with his own 2 hands, is still there. My Cousin took pictures of it when she was there last year.
