Got a story for you to follow involving an amateur champ who chose to go right for a title shot. He was told it couldn't happen but if he fought a quality opponent and one then he might. Well he did and they did. He was asked to ease off his opponent but couldn't manage to not knock him out because it was thre. It's on! And he may be set up to fight Rigondeaux in his third fight if he wins his second.

His name is Vasyl, Hi- Tech, Lomachenko '

(story exerpt)

I refuse to concede to the notion that only wars can be exciting. The debut of the highly technical Vasyl, Hi- Tech, Lomachenko, a southpaw from the Ukraine, fell far from boring (as did the Donaire vs. Rigondeaux fight for that matter!). Not a complete stranger to the professional scene, as he had participated in semi professional bouts with no headgear, Lomachenko made good on his expected performance. Fast hands, but much faster feet! He debuted his 4/5 punch combinations and evasive head movements. His footwork doesn’t stop. He is always shifting into “perfect” positions, then proceeds to land a number of incredibly accurate blows, only to have already shifted away from you and landed into the next “perfect position within seconds … repeat another 4/5 punch combination. He managed to drop his opponent in the first, and fourth rounds from cleanly accurate body shots, the latter ending the bout: he knocked out his opponent Jose Luis Ramirez (25-4) in the fourth round.

If that isn’t exciting enough, Hi-Tech expects to break records, too. For his second professional bout, he will face Orlando Salido for the WBO Featherweight title. Yes, that’s right, a title shot, at only two professional fights. If you are questioning his boxing experience, there is no need. Lomachenko’s professional record is preceded with the following:
2012 Olympic Games – Gold
2011 AIBA World Championships – Gold
2010 National Championships – Gold
2009 AIBA World Championships – Gold
2009 National Championships – Gold
2008 Olympic Games – Gold
2008 Continental Championships – Gold
2007 AIBA World Championship – Silver
2006 AIBA Junior World Champion – Gold

His amateur record is 396-1, and if history has taught us anything, this is something with which to be impressed. With only one professional fight, Hi-Tech looks to break records at his second, then possibly meet with Rigondeaux at his third.
