I felt the need to set this aside from Floyd's music thread due to the topic. I guess I am trying to decide whether I should release this information but the video kind of pushed me to.

We had a homeless veteran who played our game! I spoke to his brother after his passing and he said that his brother was homeless by choice but he didn't understand why completely.

I will be running a contest in arena 28 in November to honor him! This video really hit me hard due to the subject matter and the song itself. I think it is sad that we cannot find a way to take care of, and help more, our veterans.

My Father is a Veteran of Vietnam ('65-'66) and he came home to people hating him for being in the army; although it was not as bad as it is sometime portrayed in movies. My Grandfather was a Navy Pilot in the Pacific Theater. His squadron, VF-80 Vorse's Vipers, shot down more Japanese planes than any other squadron in a single day. Even more than the famed Marianas Turkey shoot.

Either one of them could have been homeless like these soldiers today were their fortunes being better. I am grateful for what they have when I look at things like this.

Support our Soldiers!!! There will be many coming home from Afghanistan soon. And we may go into new areas, Iraq/Syria and Ukraine, soon.

The song is not really heavy or "out there".Here you go:

Five Finger Death Punch- Wrong Side of Heaven

I thought the part at 3:30 was an AMAZING piece of this video. The former soldier is arrested and found with a weapon so he is cuffed. The officer notices he has the same tattoo (Marines?) and decides to let him go uncuffed. Not like that would happen in real life, likely, but it was a powerful piece of imagery!

Also shortly after 4:00 one former soldier in a suit and obviously affluent finds his army buddy that he fought with, and who saved him when he was injured, on the streets and he says "It's me" when he becomes agitated, not great at lip reading but he decides to help him as the song ends. Looks like he says "Let me help you brother" or "I'm going to help you brother".

5000 Veterans every year take their own lives... that is 1 every two hours. Something needs to change! The last few moments of the video state, "If you would like to join the cause and help or you are a veteran in need contact one of these organizations". The last 2 minutes is a scrolling list of these organizations!
