punching with a weapon

I have a striker who recently used a broad sword and threw 2 critical punches with its off hand and then threw a crit with the BS. This has never happened in all my years of playing DM. Could this be it's favorite weapon? Or, Does it hate the BS and threw punches instead? It has never done this using a SC or any other weapon. Opinions?

It is possible. But you would have to test it then compare it. Never had a striker get unarmed fav, would be pretty fun to read the fights.

I do have a ST with FI fave but what is odd here is the fact that the fist was available. I was under the impression for years that the BS would be used two handed if there wasn't a weapon/shield in the offhand. Did the warrior lose an offhand weapon earlier?

I was also under the impression that when there isn't an off-hand weapon, the broadsword was used two handed. Did you go fist as your primary weapon with an off-hand broadsword for parrying?

Yeah, sounds like BS was input in the off hand.

The BS was in its main hand..had a short sword as a back up..

Like others mentioned above, this is surprising. The BS should have acted as a 2-handed weapon and this should not happen. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

We have a Fist fave ST also and as far as we are concerned, it is a negative for a ST.

The above scenario is so "surprising" that we aren't at all sure what it means. (relevant to whether a fave is being indicated)

i looked back through its fights and it used a BS once before and did not use its off hand FI. It was fighting a AB using FI so maybe it just felt like the right thing to do! It was a member of Bubbaganoosh's team, maybe he will share his thoughts?

I've never seen it in 25+ years of duelmasters. I'm not saying it didn't happen, but I'd want to see the fight printout. Can you scan it for us?

So it lost the backup and then threw the punches it appears. I can believe that once the BS was used one handed that the code wouldn't switch it to two handed in that event. Makes more sense this way at any rate.
