Did your band do an album called Dievolution?

Might I have seen you live at Cactus Jack's somewhere around 93?

Indeed you may have, although I was in a band called Ransom at that time. Smile

Ok so which one are you on the back of the CD?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mata-Hari-Dievolution-CD-1995-Artists-Label-US-INDIE-EXTREMELY-RARE-/351350867273?hash=item51ce24c549

If you have a box of those CDs in your basement I am seeing 18 of them sold on ebay this year alone! You could finance your DM habit Laughing! Going between $8.40 and $45.00! Average sale price of $16.95! That one currently up for $121 is from Maryland if you look at the sale location....

Here's the band page on that site:

I am the guy on the far right with the doo rag on trying to look all badass...and failing! Laughing

And if I were you I wouldn't pay $121.49 for it. No SIR, not a dollar over $120!! Rolling Eyes

It is indeed very rare, however, because we recorded the album ourselves (at the Doghouse in Venturia, ND Phil!) and I can't remember how many CD's we had made, but probably not more than a couple thousand, most were sold at gigs for $10 and some were available at local record stores in the upper midwest.
The first album came out in 92, with the band's second (mach 2.0) lineup, and has some really great songs on it but the production was terrible. Band got screwed by their management in the cities who hustled them thru a cheap and fast session. Marty our guitar player later remastered it himself.

Phil, don't tell me you're from the Ashley/Lehr area? Bob from Ashley was the biggest Mata Hari fan alive and we would play down there every few months at the Doghouse in Venturia. Crazy times back then!

Those are some serious hair metal pictures Stik. Your kids like those pictures?

Mike Coates even worked on that album - small world around here. A good friend of mine took lessons from your guitar player - that is whey we ended up at a couple of your shows. I don't remember much about the shows, but I was more than happy to go back to a second, so it must have been good!

Nope, Stik, i live on the wisco side of the MN/WI border. But, travel to that area every couple of years, to shoot at flying footballs. A pal, near me, owns a house in Lehr. And we hunt all over that part of the state. Don't remember The Doghouse, last time i was in Venturia, was just a lil watering hole, called The Duck Inn.
