OK so in another example of bad management:

5-15-12-11-15-6-8

I'm most favoring 11-18-12-11-20-6-8 TP. Going for stat raises every turn.

13-year-old me is tempted that I can hit two 21s on BOTH WL and CN with 9 ST on Day One... but what's the point...

Although am I missing something big? Should I bump WT to 17 and WL to 17 or 21 and think a cool style?

This is a tough one in my opinion. I would not put points on CN however.

I am thinking 9-15-12-16-20-6-8 LU

This gives you the SS in your first fight. 2 turns of burning gets you the 17-21 WT-WL. The CN is high enough to help you take a few shots. You won't be able to wear much armor but some. The LU will be able to use the dodge tactic to help support the CN to help you stay in the fight and maybe win until your WT helps you pick up the skills needed. Just my opinion.

If I were going to leave WT at 11 I would go

10-15-12-11-21-6-11 LU/PL/WS/TP

8-15-12-13-21-6-11 PL. Train ST on the first fight for SC. Easy peasy.

Read through the newsletters for Noblish Island. Many design formulas offered there. Consortium would probably jump on this as a TP. It would raise your team win/loss, for sure. 9-20-12-11-20-6-8 TP (Dixie/Burner/Steroid User) well-suited to the ME and posing as a mannequin, but not much else.

Bump WL, DF, CN, and SP (in that order) then focus on skills until a couple of experts are reached. I suggest that you try to bump ST and WT every third turn or so; try to get them up two points. That will take a while, but you're a TP, so time is meaningless to you. Duh.

Plate up with a pair of medium shields or a shortsword and ME and see what happens. The WL, DF, and SP bumps will net you some skills; after that it's going to have to happen the old-fashioned way. With an 11 WT that won't be too bad; you should learn at least one skill a turn. This guy has potential; I like him. Smile AGAIN -- challenges and avoid will be key. Never be afraid to challenge up very high against other TP's. In fact, I encourage you to do so. Your TP will learn more from another, more experienced TP, and the odds of dying are lower. Use APL & S with maybe just a shortsword in each hand and wait each other out running 1-1-2 across. Use Parry tactic in emergency mode only.

The Consortium WOULD jump on that as a TP and would design it exactly as the author (bmontclare) offered. Nothing wrong, at all, with that winner!

Our 2nd choice, and not a TP, would be a burning
10-15-12-16-20-6-8 LU/PS/SL/ST/oTP

I would probably turn this into a 17-17, myself.

5-15-12-11-15-6-8 --> 8-15-12-17-17-6-11 TP or PL

One ST train gets you the SC as a weapon, and I would pick a SC wielding style that can take advantage of all that CN. TP or PL are my top choices, but I could also see trying PS or WS.

I would likely go the same route as Vlad. If I had to I would train strength twice to get good damage. Looks like a fun one to me.

Your setup had 72 points, but I'm pretty sure this is the same setup and this is what I did. I also seriously considered OAB's 17-17 design and would recommend it if you're not running a lot of solid arena setups:

CRUSHING AXE (40-4694) of XCOM ALPHA (469) [20-4-1,79,24FE], will fight Champions.
He is a wall of steel with ST=11(1) CN=15 SZ=10 WT=11 WL=21 SP=6 DF=11.
He is ambidextrous, is slightly uncoordinated, has tremendous endurance, can take a lot of damage, is very quick on his feet, has an Expert in attack, and has an Expert in parry.

Let me just caution you that it is dangerous to see what HW does and assume you'll have anything resembling his success. He's one of those annoying guys that can take your golf driver that you're struggling with and hit it further than you and then turn to you and say "looks like it still has a few good shots left in it!" Rolling Eyes Or throw your darts because he forgot his and spank you in a game of cricket. Mad

So just realize Your Mileage May Vary. Objects in mirror are farther than they appear!

The 11 WT of his design gives me pause, but the WS is probably a style that can succeed with that design more than others.

Ah! You're right. And I didn't notice because I was off on size (correct stat is 10, like yours).

Thanks for the input!
