Greeting Aurak City, I come forth from the realms where chaos dominates, and
shadows wander for their next victim. My name is Lord Scorpio; better known as
Scorpio ot those in Ghea. This land is much to my liking, so I have taken up the
duties of managing my team Scoripions. I believe in loyalty and honor, so if any of
you managers are interested in joining an alliance, or getting to know me and my
gladiators - please diplo me. I always believe that you "get back what you put in."
Behold, as my fighters: Chorlymdyr, Hephaestus, Kyria, Sanji aka Hatchet Man *smile*
and our newest undead warrior Zarik Vorkaire, are here to compete on the sands and
strive to reach the coveted title of Duelmaster--to also make a name for Team
Scorpions and their Lord Scorpio, so let us begin the fights...

Well, what are you looking at, ARUAK CITY? Ain't you never seen Snide Clemens
before? Ah, shaddup and listen to my news. Later days, BULLDOGS, since FLAGRANT
FOWL took top team from you this turn, you guys are old news. Now keep the taverns
open late tonight, for there are sorrows to drown for COLORIFIC, whose 2-1-0 this
turn dropped them by 4 into 8th. Ha! FLAGRANT FOWL turned their 2-3-0 turn into a
1st place rank in the listings this turn. Any better than this, and you get put on
hit lists. Now let's all watch AARDVARK & CO.'s heads swell from their 4-1-0 this
turn. Haa ha ha ha! Big shots, big talk, big deal. Of course, we're all terribly
impressed to see KIM O. SABY win a fight and gain 16 points, terribly. Tsk, tsk,
KUNG-FU MASTER beat VIOLET VIPER and VIOLET VIPER lost 35 points. You're breakin' my
heart. Looks like ARUAK CITY has some guts at least, LAMB CHOP STOP the Duelmaster
was this turn's most-challenged warrior. RIN TIN TIN challenged ARUAK CITY's
Duelmaster for a shot at the throne. And if variety is the spice of life, ARUAK CITY
may be getting bland, as LAMB CHOP STOP stays top dog in the city. Kickbacks and
bribes, kickbacks and bribes, how else do you think some of these guys win their
fights? Skill? Ha!
He who fights and runs away will live to fight another day, the coward. ARUAK
CITY, I am losing what little hope I had in you. AARDVARK & CO. the most avoided
team? What insult will suffice, I cannot say. And who led the way in this mass act
of cowardice? Let's see, well, whatcha know? It was BULLDOGS. Ha ha ha ha! I
guess I can give a little credit to TOUCAN SAM of FLAGRANT FOWL for challenging up by
20 to LOBOROACH. TOUCAN SAM lost to get 59 points of recognition.
Ah, now we come to my favorite part, where we see all the guys who are dead and
gone, and get to see if their team cared. Ya gotta go sometime, and RIN TIN TIN's
time was this time. Hmmm, not a bad fighter, had he lived... (what? me pity?).
Seriously now, is it really honorable for LAMB CHOP STOP from EASTER FEASTER to kill
RIN TIN TIN and give BULLDOGS the chance to bloodfeud? Mmmm, could be. Honor is
like a chainmail shirt, it only shines through use. Certain nameless cowards will
doubtless rebuke me on this one.
What does the ARUAK CITY arena have in common with the inns? It's just as
comfortable to sleep in either place. Ha ha ha ha! Well, I've had enough of this
drivel, and I'm sure you have too. Off like a dirty shirt of padded leather. Glad
to see the back of this place-- Snide Clemens

Lamb Chop Stop -- A salute yet again. Duelmasters drink free at The Bulldogs Inn. --
Kennelworth, proprietor

Moon Light -- That was fun wasn't it? Perhaps you would do better in the darkness?
-- Underdog

The question of the day remains: Who is running Aardvark $ Co and/or is Anne back?
-- Kennelworth

I wouldn't mind knowing that myself!

Health. Humility. Honor. -- Kennelworth

Yo ho ho! Proudo me critters bein 2-1. Aye. -- Mino

Krill Cavalry -- I apologize deeply for killing your teammate, Wilhoman. It was not
intended. -- Lilac Lemur

Additional "thoughts" from Kennelworth--keeping the Andorian spirit alive in Andoria
and Aruak City....

All -- Welcome, welcome to the newcomers. We are so pleased you are here. We will
gladly provide help or assist any who ask. -- Kennelworth, Bulldogs

Scorpio -- As The Consortium's primary representative here, please allow us to take
that bad Producer taste out of your mouth. We can help! -- Kennelworth

For those interested The Consortium Boss just went through double eye surgery and is
recovering well. Consortium persads through the lands may be less-than-normal for a
while until he is back to normal. (Or better) -- Kennelworth

Hey there, Bulldogs -- LTNS. Yes, it's me. After all these years. Why are you
avoiding me? Would I challenge an old friend? *tries to look all innocent and sweet*

Charcoal Chimp -- It was a good fight... no harm no foul... ouch ouch ouch... did I
say no harm? lol -- Normina

Gold Tooth -- Yeowch... thanks for not killing me. -- Loboroach

Mutt -- A little one-sided, with a bit of an experience gap there. Maybe our next
clash will be more even, but don't rush it. Sorry to hand you your first loss. --

Woodsy -- I won that with damage? But that's not my style, really! I got confused
about what that shield was for I guess. Sorry. -- Mrs. Thatcher

Cub -- Guess I shouldn't have made you desperate! -- Li

Rin -- Well, that was a little one-sided... Take it easy, ya big bulldog you. I'm
just a little guy with apparently a secret admirer. It's probably someone from your
stable. You only avoid the ones you love! -- Cerebus Himself

Hello All! Flagrant Fowl has returned! We took a little holiday and it turned into
about a year... ahem... back to the sands! Since we came back, our training grounds
have been overrun with rats and weeds... so, since our friends of the Chaos Carnival
don't seem to be around right now... we'll just use theirs. It's bigger, has a
better view, and is closer to the arena. They'll just have to take it back from us
when and if they ever come back... -- Scrooge McDuck (Manager of Flagrant Fowl)

Lane Terraza -- Thanks for the good fight. Not sure what my sabbatical did for me,
but since I have returned, I'm 3-0. Wow. And here I was certainly headed to the
Dark Arena. Well, perhaps a penguins life is never done...? -- Opus

Lucky Chucky -- I say, I say boy. Opus thinks HE was in trouble? My manager STILL
has me on the wrong side of the roasting spit, I mean, I mean...on the receiving end
of the spear, if you know what I mean... My manager is about as subtle as a
handgrenade in a barrel of oatmeal... I say, I say boy... well... you get the
picture. Mighty obliged for the fight and the win. Might keep my chicken neck out
of the lariat just a wee bit longer. -- Foghorn Leghorn

I know you all need a good nursery rhyme since I have been gone for a while so here
Certain warriors are not so bright,
they really don't know how to fight,
their managers make them and so they obey,
though we all know they are soon for the DA! -- Mother Goose

Unlike my stablemates above I am not worried about the Dark Arena. So much doom and
gloom talk when we are doing so well! Anyway, even I am a bit surprised how little
fight you both put up against me. It was basically no fight at all from either of
you. Did you eat a complete breakfast? I know a certain breakfast cereal that could
do wonders for you... -- Toucan Sam

Give a hoot, don't pollute the... er... sand... with... um... broken weapons... never
mind. -- Woodsy Owl

20 August 14

Several years ago I ran a contest known as the "Slaughter Challenge" which was the
idea of a member of my alliance at the time. We unfortunately lost him during a
robbery attempt at the store he worked at. This November will mark the 10th
anniversary of his passing so I have decided to run the Slaughter Challenge again in
remembrance of him.

Rich Hammes was a member of my alliance, the Vendetta Cartel, and had sponsored me
into the alliance. Rich was a common poster to both the Yahoo Duelmasters group as
well as the Duel2 boards and our Alliance's Yahoo group. He went by the handle
GameOgre on the Duel2 boards and was known by the name Abarsis, the Slaughter Priest.
He was a very kind and thoughtful man who always had time to talk with not only his
alliance-mates but anyone else who wanted to discuss Duelmasters. He also had time
to talk with anyone about personal life issues if he felt he could help. He was a
daily, and prolific, poster to these sites and seemed to enjoy the interaction with
others regarding this game that he loved so much.

I would also like everyone to know that he spent several years in the US Navy serving
on a Nuclear attack Submarine in protection of our nation. He was well loved, and
well known, by the community in which he lived even spending time at a local Ice
Cream Shop around closing time to assure that the lady who owned the store was safe
as she was often alone when she closed her shop. He was a well known and much loved
member of his local community. His death was grieved by his local San Diego
community where they held a candle-light vigil for him and many expressed their
disbelief that he was gone. These are just a scant few examples of what a kind and
caring man he was and why not only our gaming community lost a great deal on that
fateful day, but also shows why there was tremendous sadness among the community in
which he lived.

It is near to 10 years since his passing and there are many times I wonder, "What
would Rich think about this...." I miss my friend dearly to this day and I hope you
will come join us in this contest idea which he himself came up with. He thought we
should all learn to appreciate what Jorja does to keep our smaller arenas alive and

The contest will be held in Morya, arena 28, beginning on the turn that is due on
November 6th, 2014 (turn 378 I believe). Tourney participation is not allowed during
the contest but the contest will start after the fall Mailer so you can get your
warriors a few fight experience should you choose to. The timing of the contest was
done to allow entry into the fall mailer.

The rules are fairly simple and inspired to let us all feel what it is like to run
warriors like Jorja does. Her teams across Alastari may sometimes be taken for
granted so this contest will allow us to appreciate her teams a little better as they
populate the arenas we fight in.

The Rules--

There are no challenges, avoids, bloodfeuds, or tourneys allowed and only one single
use of the Dark Arena is allowed after the contest begins. Win or lose the Dark
Arena is allowed but once, so if you want your warrior dead be sure and throw the

The contest will last for 12 turns. May I point out that if you use your Dark Arena
fight you will get either 2 points, for winning, or -2, for losing, and ALL fights
count in the scoring. It matters not if you fight a non-contest warrior or a stand-
in; they still count as much as fighting a contest warrior. This will be a test of
basic strategy with a touch of luck added in as well.

If anyone should break the no tourney rule they will lose 5 points for each warrior
entered and those warriors, and any subsequent warriors who replace them in death,
cannot score points! The one exception are the dead tourneys. Should you wish you
may enter your warriors in dead tourneys, since they are not a member of your team,
or even the living, at the time. The warrior may even return to the contest if a
natural opening can be found for it, or you choose to use your Dark Arena fight to
make that opening (if you still have that option left). Break the no DA, challenge,
or avoid rules and you will be DQed as soon as the transgression is discovered. To
keep the contest playing field as level as possible, we will have no messing with
these rules. Of course you may DA the one time, just as a clarification, but the
second time gets you DQed. This also counts if it is found you bring a second team
in for the purpose of making challenges; you will be DQed.

Scoring is as follows:

1 point for winning
1 point for killing (giving 2 in total, 1 for the win and 1 for the kill)
1 point for at least one of your warriors writing a personal (regardless of number of
personals beyond one you still only get one point). Make sure it is written from
one of your team's warriors and not simply the manager entity or you will not get
  the point.
-1 point for losing
-1 point for being killed (giving -2 in total, -1 for losing and -1 for being killed)
-5 points and the loss of that warrior's slot for scoring the remainder of the
contest for entering a warrior into a REGULAR tourney (again DEAD tourney is open)

The Prizes:
1st place -- +1 bonus to one warrior on the team, 1 resurrection potion, and 1
  favorite knowledge
2nd place -- +1 bonus for one warrior, 1 favorites knowledge
3rd place -- +1 bonus for one warrior

Iron Manager Award -- Run 54 of the possible 60 fights and get a +1 bonus potion

The bonus potions and favorites knowledge must be used on warriors with 5 FE or more
and MUST be used within 2 turns of the end of the contest. The resurrection potion
must be used within 6 months of the end of the contest but may be used on any warrior
regardless of FE. ALL prizes must be used on the contest team, they are NOT
transferable to another team!

If you wish to participate please notify Street Legal via Personal Ad in arena 28, on
the Duel2 forums, or in Chatzy!
