                                      SPY REPORT

Hail and well met warriors of CALEAM! Know me for who I am, Zontani Sharp Eyes,
Spymaster extraordinaire of all Alastari. GARGOTH caught the eye of many in the
gladiatorial commission as he skillfully bested OTTAWA and was awarded 22 points in
recognition. In one of the week's more notable duels, GARGOTH put down OTTAWA,
causing it to lose 20 points of recognition in the process. As is fitting, the most
sought after warrior on the challenge boards this week was none other than Duelmaster
APPELONIA herself. Who here was not present for the title fight this week as ORLANDO
boldly challenged APPELONIA in order to strive for the Duelmasters honors? This time
victory fell to the grasp of the usurper. All hail ORLANDO, Duelmaster of CALEAM!
Heed this! A seer has warned that if exactly 6 die in duels this week, the whole
city shall perish! Just remember...5 or 7!
But come now, let us look deeper into the maze of contention and crossed blades
that is city CALEAM. I saw one fighter that warriors avoided when this week's
challenge seeking began. MEDAL OF HONOR GN is feared. This much I can say.
Apparently the stalwarts of HERE TO PHOENIX are catching the bulk of jests down at
the challenging board for their large share of the avoids. I can not but mention
with disdain the name of WILSON D. WATSON who this week posted a challenge to a
warrior a full 14 points below in the rankings. I thought WILSON D. WATSON showed
great skill and promise when he defeated SUTTER'S HARE. All right, so I slept
through it! Big deal!
Vendettas. Bloodied blades and broken spears. Indeed the city has seen more
than its fair share of red in recent times. Some say a warrior is judged by the way
he bears arms. One thing is sure, better a dagger in hand then a sword on the belt!
The girls are as pretty in CALEAM as ever I remembered them....and the fighters
as ugly! Don't let your reputation slip! Ahh, but I can hear the spires of a far
off city calling to me. I must away! Till we meet again, remember: a turtle walks
slow, hides head in a shell, and harms no one; a lion runs to slay its prey.--
Zontani Sharp Eyes

Oh, dear. Only five fights. We went four-one, but that was because we fought four
standbys. It's a gray day for the arena here, but perhaps the sun will come out
again soon? -- Appelonia
P.S. It's probably the expert in parry that did it, don't you think?

                        WINTER FACE-TO-FACE IN SUNNY ARIZONA!

Our next winter FTF will be held in Tempe, Arizona, January 16-18, 2015. It will be
held at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Tempe, Arizona (480-897-7444), the same hotel as
last year by popular request. Room rates are $149.00 per night, 1-2 occupancy, which
includes full cooked breakfast, complimentary manager's reception, free airport
shuttle, free parking and free high speed internet. There's a fitness center,
jacuzzi, and pool. The rooms are blocked--code RSI.

Please make your reservations now if you plan to go. This is prime season for
Phoenix, and this year will be crazy: the Superbowl, Phoenix Open, auto auction, PF
Chang's Marathon, and more are all during that time. The hotel will be filling up
quickly and I won't be able to add rooms to the block after they are full. So please
book your room now -- if you can't make it you can cancel your reservation, but we
hope you do!

Look for the tournament info sheet and minioverviews some time in December. We hope
you're all looking forward to it and that we will see you there!
