...high above Woodvale Falls, light, limber, strong in motion. Not weakening with
worry, hurry, story, stillness, heavy sudden burdens taken on too much, too fast, too
too. Seeking power over others through force does break some falling to those darcwud
ways below. Acquiring skills, aligning values, and playing, enjoying being well and
well doing, making patterns, creating beauty does save some, keeping up, uplifting,
awaying from the darkness below...

Honking geese chased the tired sun behind the hill, and in the twilight a spotted dog
chased a squawking goose flapping past a pig rolling in the muddy path to his hut's
front door, which opened suddenly.
"Where've you been, boy?! You're late for supper! You been snoopin' 'round that cave
again, haven't ya, Bo! Ooooh, I told ya that ogre's mean! Never do trust an ogre, I
said! It's not safe! C'mon! You better hurry and wash up now! Your food's gettin'
cold!" Bigboy Bobinger's large Ma cocked her head, tsked, and frown-smiled down at
his opening and closing mouth, then rubbed his head and swatted him into the hut,
calling after him, "And where's Ty? Huh? You two! His Ma's worried sick! I know! That
ogre prolly ate him, that's what! Poor Ty! I told you! That ogre ate your Great Aunt
Mae, didn't I tell you? Maybe now you'll listen!"

The spotted dog ran panting and dripping into the dry hut and Lechbug pounced on it
with a clean towel. "Yeah, that's it. Don't worry, boy. You and Ty never miss dinner."
Wiping off wet and mud, he turned his head to his wife. "Our boy'll be along soon,
Mother."
She wiped her hands on her apron and looked out the window. "Oh, I know, Hunny. But
I'm worried about our neighbors talking nonsense and lighting torches. Look at 'em,
Lechy! Where're they off to in this dark now?"
Lechbug signed and looked out at the crowd gathering along the path running down
between the huts. "Oh, probably off to the cave again. Ignorance in action is
terrifying, isn't it, Deary? I mean, I've tried to tell them it's just a story we tell
our kids to scare them away from a dangerous place, and I remind them that nobody's
ever actually seen any ogre and that if there were an ogre, then he would just want to
be left alone," He winked slyly at her. "But they never listen, and they never quit
blaming all their bad and missing crops and lame and missing livestock on 'the cave
ogre rager'" and he pinched her with smiling eyes. "You know that's why the ogre
rages!" And Lechbug smiled and laughed with his wife at the window by the waning
torchlight.

Leafbinger raised his glowing eyes, flaming torch, eyebrows and voice and spoke
quickly to the villagers around him. "See, I figure it's gotta be that no-good cave
ogre rager that killed this there thing. And that ate our Ty too!"
The light of their torches glinted off their weapons and armor as they nodded and
gathered around the gremlin carcass, unable not to stare at it, and unaware of the
silence in the bushes and trees around and above them. The hideous corpse looked
almost pitiable as it lay there, twisted among the gnarled roots in the forest path,
but too many of their women folk had complained to them about the leering beast that
several of the men did now spit on it, and one said, "Good riddance!"

"Me 'Am say dey MEAN! No TRUS 'em!" she waved her huge thick forearm in the direction
of the torches through the falls and far below where the villagers had gathered across
the riverpool at the mouth of her cave. Her other hand held his. "Dey say WRONG! Dey
DIE trees and me 'Am!"
He reached up on tip-toes and wiped away her tears and rested his face between her
large green breasts and she giggled and smiled down at him through her tusks and said
to him, "Not like you."
Tybug smiled up into her eyes and said, "Me 'Ad say dey not dat bad. Dey jus wanna be
lef alone." The ogress' soft warty hand gently rubbed her lover's head. "Like us." And
the teens warmed each other, to the sound of the roaring waters and the sight of the
torches beyond.

SPY REPORT
Greetings Lapurians! Today we honor the city's 9th Lord Protector of the year, Stone
Hinge of Black Kelts. I have to hand it to Purple Sage, having a warrior graduate with
61 fights, much less an Aimed Blow. He told me that back in the day they had 3 rules
about Aimed Blows. Number one, Aimed Blows die. Number two, Aimed Blows die alot and
number three, never DA an Aimed Blow, because they are going to die anyway. Well Sir
Hinge is one warrior that broke the rules. Congrats and farewell. Now on with my
report of this week's arena activities.
Fifteen guilds in the ranks, with Vlad and several other teams appearing to have
finished their tourney prep.
From the active teams we have 21 fights in the arena, seven by challenge, nine
commission randoms and 5 using the night time warrior recycling program. Let's start
with the title fight with SNORLAX of POKE' MON challenging two time champ ERRATIC
EDUCATOR of ARMY OF DARKNESS, with Poke's nocturnal warrior being viciously subdued by
Master Beru's scholarly warrior in a 3 minute competition. All Hail the 3 time
Duelmaster! Now for this week's carnage, BUFFALO TRACE sentenced a hooch, Visionist
targeted another roll up god and G rejected three and unfortunately lost a 4th to a
challenge match. We salute your sacrifice.
In team news, the Barkeep and his LIBATIONS 6 jumped from 3rd to the top spot after a
limited 2-0-0 showing, congrats. Dropping from 1st to 2nd is Poke and his Mon's who
went 2-3-1. Rounding out the top 3 is Neon and his velvet warriors after a limited 2-
0-0 result. The Team on the Move is BUFFALO TRACE, who gained 53 points as a group.
The Most Avoided guild is inactive Vlad and his ALMOST EXACTLY crew, who had 6 avoids.
the 2nd most is Neon, who had 4 and fearmonger the Bloke's crew received only had two
avoids. Wow!

obscure warrior vanquished Purple Sage's sedated warrior in a 1 minute Challenge
fight.

BATTERSCOTCH of NEON VELVET challenged APOSTATE POSTMAN of ARMY OF DARKNESS, with
Neon's crushing warrior viciously subduing Master Beru's traitorous warrior in a 2
minute expert's duel.
UPCHUCK of AVOID ME! down challenged GRAKUS of MID EARTH, with the Bloke's
regurgitating warrior losing to Visionist's mysterious warrior in a popular 2 minute
veteran's brawl.
50ML of BUFFALO TRACE '25 challenged ELHAD of MID EARTH, with Mr B's metric warrior
overpowering Visionist's elvish warrior in a 1 minute one-sided melee.
BRIAR of POKE' MON challenged LECHBUG of WOODVALE FALLS, with Poke's blueberry warrior
assassinating G's insect warrior in a 1 minute one-sided match.
