Notes from the arena champ.
Well fought, Sacagawea! You are a credit to your fighting style. (Just because your
fighting style isn't all that creditable to begin with, don't let that bother you.)
This is a really big and kind of intimidating Challenger Champions class. I know I
have a pretty record and all, but some of you guys have three times my fights. I am
not looking forward to the many challenges I am sure are headed my way. Hopefully, my
blade will remain sharp and keen, ready to turn back any and all challengers.
I guess that's a question to be asked as well. D. Noble rightly observes that this is
a top-heavy arena. So, with all that experience in the Challenger Champs, how come
nobody is receiving their recognition from the Lady Greywand? Where are all the
graduates? Surely you've got the fights and the ratings. Why are you all sticking
around?
I have a question for The Bloke too...How do you know you received exactly 16 avoids
last turn? Our esteemed Spy Reporter only reports who was the most avoided team, so
how do you know the exact number? Who have you been paying off at the Commission?

SPY REPORT
If you were disturbed from your beauty rest only to have to watch a bunch of
LAPUR brutes like you, you'd be grouchy, too. Later days, NEON VELVET, since ARCANE
PHARMACY took top team from you this turn, you guys are old news. Now keep the
taverns open late tonight, for there are sorrows to drown for I'M THE WOLF, whose
0-2-0 this turn dropped them by 4 into 9th. Ha! CONFUSE A CAT turned their 1-1-0
turn into a 8th place rank in the listings this turn. Any better than this, and you
get put on hit lists. Gee, I'm impressed, a 4-1-0 is nice, but don't get cocky, MID
EARTH, the Fates teach humility, and the Fates are proud. Of course, we're all
terribly impressed to see KYUSEKAI win a fight and gain 21 points, terribly. Tsk,
tsk, KYUSEKAI beat NOBILIFY and NOBILIFY lost 27 points. You're breakin' my heart.
SMOOTH OPERATOR challenged MONEY DARLING for LAPUR's Title this turn, and guess what
happened? And if variety is the spice of life, LAPUR may be getting bland, as SMOOTH
OPERATOR stays top dog in the city. Kickbacks and bribes, kickbacks and bribes, how
else do you think some of these guys win their fights? Skill? Ha!
Well, let's take a look at some more misdeeds of you miserable sword-boys.
AVOID ME!, I suppose you'll be glad to know you were this turn's most avoided team.
Care to know who is the most afraid of you? And who led the way in this mass act of
cowardice? Let's see, well, whatcha know? It was ALMOST EXACTLY. Ha ha ha ha!
BASCOMB BRENDEU was challenged more times this turn than the Duelmaster. Now was the
DM insulted or feared? Heh, heh. I suspect either a 21 will or a 21 ego on this
one, but POISON IVY has challenged up by 32 in an attempt against BASCOMB BRENDEU.
But here's a pretty tale--POISON IVY did lose the fight, but gained 4 worth of
recognition. Some long shots can pay off, I guess. I guess I can give a little
credit to ERRATIC EDUCATOR of ARMY OF DARKNESS for challenging up by 25 to KUHRIS.
ERRATIC EDUCATOR lost to get 30 points of recognition.
Death and Taxes. The less death I see, the more it taxes my patience. Let's
see if anyone's dead or dying. Honor is like a chainmail shirt, it only shines
through use. Certain nameless cowards will doubtless rebuke me on this one.
