Team: Killers
The sand remembers blood better than names. The sand remembers Mardi Gras and his
history lesson in his last column. Today, it remembers Mardis Gras-thirteen wins,
four losses, and not enough steel to stop me. Today it defines Mardis Gras as
"pushing up daisies, establishing his place as worm food, Mardi Gras in a casket."
His blade was too slow, his style non-existent and thus, I cut him down, and the
throne is mine once more.
I don't take this lightly. Six kills in twenty victories. Thirty percent of my wins
end in my opponent's death. No wonder we are the most avoided team. My success is not
talent. It is not luck. It is who I am. I was born in chains, a murderer by choice, a
fighter by decree. Now I'm the monster they promised I could become.
But before I go further, I need to correct myself.
Last time I wore this crown, I spoke out of turn. I cast judgment on the Killers-a
stable that is not mine to define. That belongs to Shocking Toad, my manager. He
forged this team in fire long before I ever touched the sand. His voice speaks for the
Killers. Mine is the sword that carries out his will. I won't confuse the two again.
So here I stand, Duelmaster once more. Not through politics, not through accident, but
through the only currency that matters here: blood.
Kati-Tei, you want to stop me? Then step forward. Swing your steel. Aim for my throat.
But remember this-30% of those who try don't just lose, they die.

Good day, in KATI-TEI a quiet thief gets rich, but a quiet spymaster gets poor.
So bring me ale and harken to my tidbits of news. NEON MYSTICS stable has parlayed
this turn's 2-2-0 into a 5 space move up the rankings. This brings them up to 4th
place. Good work, guys! Defending his title for another turn, JARCK MYSIR kept
KATI-TEI's warrior, KHALHUMS DWARF, from claiming the throne. Can someone confirm a
rumor for me? I hear the top team makes their losing fighters do dishes at The
Welcome Wench until they win. Maybe?
Oriental wise man once say, 'Hiding behind shields prevents proper sun tanning.'
Inscrutable, but true. I also notice that the KILLERS stable was the most avoided
team this turn. Come on KATI-TEI, what are you afraid of? And guess who avoided
KILLERS stable the most? Believe it or not, it was DEATH'S ARMY. Anyone surprised?
Well, sports fans, take notice that SPELLFOIL from NEON MYSTICS was KATI-TEI's most
challenged warrior this turn. Well now, what do you expect when someone like VOODOO
from NAWLINS RU2 challenges down 28 points to fight DRAVOK of KILLERS? We're not
surprised to hear that VOODOO bested DRAVOK, but I bet it would be interesting to
hear why NAWLINS RU2 made such a challenge. In a brave attempt, I DRANK WHAT?! from
DEATH'S ARMY challenged up 22 points to fight DUCT MAN from the CONSTRUCTION stable.
I DRANK WHAT?! perhaps got his just desserts, seeing as he subdued DUCT MAN and ended
up with 66 recognition points.
We only live a short time in this world, so why not take a sharp blade, and
shave it close? A brave warrior does not carry a red shield, he has nothing to cover
or hide when the fight is over. Consider well.
I like this place, KATI-TEI, the taverns have old wine, and young serving girls.
Who could ask for more? Always good to rest in KATI-TEI, but never good to wear out
