Notes from the arena champ.
They chant my name before the gates even rise. Charybdis! Charybdis! The echoes
thunder through the stone corridors of Amen-Tei's arena like distant waves crashing on
rock. It feeds me, the beast that dwells inside me, the one I let loose the moment the
sun glares down on the sands and the roar of the crowd becomes louder than the storm's
crashing waves..
I was forged from the cracked bones of failed men. I was sent here with chains on my
wrists and fire in my chest. They thought this pit would be my tomb. Instead, I made
it my throne.
In Alastari, victory doesn't come from strength alone. You have to become something
more than human. You have to become the storm. That's what Charybdis isb"the whirlpool
that pulls you in, that drowns your hope before you even know you've lost.
Amen-Tei knows me now. The nobles wager fortunes on my odds. The slaves carve my sigil
in secret. They say the sand remembers my victories like scars etched into the flesh
of the world. Charybdis., the inevitable doom of so many.
And I'm not done yet. The Lady of the Isle beckons to me to join her legions of
heroes. They shall chant my name among the immortal realms, forever honoring the
spirit of the storm.Charybdis! Charybdis!

Good day, in AMEN-TEI a quiet thief gets rich, but a quiet spymaster gets poor.
So bring me ale and harken to my tidbits of news. Now keep the taverns open late
tonight, for there are sorrows to drown for THE RAVAGERS, whose 0-0-0 this turn
dropped them by 4 into 11th. The THE SAND TRAP guild has had a 4-1-0 turn and
deserves to be watched in the future. You never know where this kind of thing can
lead. And let's see, JIN YOUNG KO fought POLYPHEMUS and gained 21 points and
contributed to THE SAND TRAP's 4-1-0. POLYPHEMUS has lost to JIN YOUNG KO, falling
31 points, while helping make NEON ODYSSEY a 3-2-0 turn. The attempts to dethrone
the Duelmaster have failed, and CHARYBDIS remains AMEN-TEI's top warrior for another
turn. By the way, was that our Duelmaster that I saw last night, cramped under the
table at The Welcome Wench?
The crowd's roar, the smell of iron and leather, mixed with sweat, what more
could a warrior ask of life? Well, besides that. NEON ODYSSEY has cause to stand
tall, as they were AMEN-TEI's most avoided team. A smart manager knows this is a
team to beat. And guess who avoided NEON ODYSSEY stable the most? Believe it or
not, it was SAFE HAVEN. Anyone surprised? The most challenged warrior this turn was
WAYFARERS' warrior MY MANAGER HATES ME. More fighters challenged him than challenged
the Duelmaster! In a brave attempt, BEGTSE from SAFE HAVEN challenged up 22 points
to fight MINJEE LEE from the THE SAND TRAP stable. BEGTSE perhaps got his just
desserts, seeing as he was beat by MINJEE LEE and ended up with 62 recognition
points.
We only live a short time in this world, so why not take a sharp blade, and
shave it close? Is it really true that AMEN-TEI has more dishwashers per capita that
fighters? Just thought I'd ask...
