Filed from the bottom of an ale barrel. Ink smells like hops. Deal with it!
Well, well, well. After sitting in the shadow of his own highlight reel, JERRY WEST of
NBA Legends finally climbed the ladder and slammed the door shut on The Leper King.
The so-called King never saw the fast break coming, and Jerry dribbled past him into
the throne. Congratulations, Jerry--enjoy the title, and try not to sprain anything
shaking hands at the tavern victory party. Just watch out for that throne, I hear it
has splinters! The reign will be short as Jerry leaves us next turn for the Isle.
Looks like the league's finest are becoming the arena's most-dodged. Maybe it's the
polished footwork, maybe it's the smell of victory... or perhaps it's just the fact
that SAVAGE from Primal Instinct might maul your entire lineup. Who ran away from NBA
Legends the most? Funny you should ask, it was Cult of Bacchus. Shocking! A group
named after the god of wine, avoiding conflict? I thought they were drunk, not afraid.
Maybe they had a prior appointment with a goblet and a sofa. Honestly, if I were
EGWENE from Childhood Heroes, I'd consider changing my name, my clothes, and my zip
code. She keeps getting targeted, as if she owes everyone in the arena lunch money.
This time, she outlasted Dotar Sojat for a grueling eight-minute fight. That's right--
eight minutes of public suffering. Someone get this woman a chair and a therapist.
And here comes the blood, hot and tragic, a tale if there ever was one. Wilma Deering
(Childhood Heroes) was unceremoniously murdered by Mister Madman (Leftoverture).
Irony, thy name is stable names. Fujushima (Far Travelers) got fed to the Black Orc in
the Dark Arena. Bad call, bad luck, or bad management? You decide! Finally, there is
Vitzi (Cult of Bacchus), who met a quick and brutal end at the hands of the ironically
named JUST A TRAVESTY. Spoiler: it was a slaughter, not a farce.
Raise your mugs for AMOS (Clan Longbeard), who leaves for the Isle. He was a multi-
turn Duelmaster, but I'm not sure if he had enough to qualify for the Hall of Fame.
Oh, and let's pour one out (into my mug) for STEPH CURRY, who, after smacking
Wyrmshadow around and showing he's still got it, hung up his boots and left town for
the Isle--no word yet on if he'll coach or just become the MVP of Mai Tais. We also
want to raise a mug for the newest graduating class. Leaving with our Duelmaster,
Jerry West, we have Marcus Cato (Roman Republic) and Dago Dracospear (Dragonbane
Guild) preparing to set off for the advanced arenas.
So what did we learn this turn, Shadowspire? NBA Legends are feared. Childhood Heroes
appear to be stronger when we were children. Death doesn't wait for your team to sober
up. And if you want to be king, you'd better come for the crown swinging. I'll be back
in two weeks, assuming I haven't drowned in ale or been assassinated by a disgruntled
manager. Until then, sharpen your swords, dull your wits, and keep your drinks
stronger than your excuses!
