Notes from the arena champ.
I must admit, I feel a bit like an usurper. I know I was active here for a long
time, but after my long break it seems wrong to hold this fine throne so soon. That
being said, if I can but defend it once, I get to travel to the isle. That is such a
pleasant thought in my head, I hope it does not dull my fighting senses. I did
double challenge the old Duelmaster, but he decided to go inactive instead of defend
his throne and I beat a buy to find myself here. I assume this time I will fight a
warrior with some backbone to hold it. -- Earl of Huntington
SPY REPORT
Welcome MORDANT. I, Olaf Modeen remember this place well. Many the fights have
I fought here. The celebrations, the disappointments... Woof! HOMICIDAL MANIACS
were a bunch of dogs after THE APPRENTICES got through with 'em! 4th ain't so sweet
as 1st! Phhbltt! Too much drinking and too little dodging gave HAWKS a 3-2-0! I
got a good laugh out of it! Up 'n down. Up 'n down. Rankings always change. Up 'n
down. I think I'm gonna be... Well, THE APPRENTICES' 1st moved them up to 3-0-0
place. It seems so recently people were saying THE BLACK COMPANY was washed up,
finished. But 4-0-1 moved them up 3. I guess they're washed no more... What's with
SYLITH? She actually beat SOUL HAREM's LITTLE FAIR LEA, and walked away with 24 more
points from the fight. Laughs were big at CAT'S MEOW while they watched ABYSSINIAN
clobber RICHARD PLANTAGENET. He lost 17 points and got bruised from objects thrown
from the stands. MORDANT has a Duelmaster who doesn't sit back and get lazy. He
challenged HOMICIDAL MANIACS' MAN NEXT DOOR (18-34-1), which should prove (ahem!)
interesting. Try as he might, MAN NEXT DOOR wasn't good enough at persuading EARL OF
HUNTINGTON to step down from the Duelmaster's throne... Wouldn't it be nice to have
live subjects to practice on? I hear some team is looking into the uses of convicted
prisoners.
If at first you don't succeed, avoid. That'll get you in the Spyreports.
MORDANT thinks SOUL HAREM and their 32-39-5 is too much! If at first you don't
succeed, give up... The bums at DARK TOADS couldn't face the challenges from SOUL
HAREM! No excuse for that! What do people see in HAYDAN? His 4-6-1? HOMICIDAL
MANIACS ain't talkin', but he's got 19 points.
There have been some calls to lengthen the time limit. Do you want the fighters
to walk away, or not? Hmm... More surprises must remain in store for me, if
FACELESS can return from the Dark Arena. Someone told HAYDAN that RIDERS OF CHAOS
never Bloodfeuded, that he'd have an easy kill. Well, I'm sure whoever misled you is
right sorry. Many a warrior has met his fate in a hungover stupor. You young
rapscallions, take note!
Many other cities have retirement homes for aged warriors. Any plans here?

Citizens of Ghea (only the ignorant fail to note Lirith Kai is not in Alastari),
no new day is rising, but the sun is setting on just another beautiful evening.
While you were sleeping, an irksome rabble has entered the always fair Aruak City.
Of course they fought alongside our warriors, most not so treasured, as all
gladiators do. They drank with themselves, and slept with themselves. Whether they
had masks, who cares.
Warriors, don't be afraid. For years Aruak has been one of the safest cities in
Ghea, and that custom has been continually cultivated, and will continue to be by
those who have called it home for years and those who live, fight, and die by the
same ethics. There is no contest, nor has there ever needed to be one for many
years. A conflict of personalities has arisen, and the city has been 'invaded' by
pests.
Any rules that are annouced will be purely for the joy of the lemmings' own
little world. Those who are being targeted have no interest in participating except
to defend the integrity of an arena that is different from others. Whether you
choose to come to Aruak, do it for your own reasons, not theirs.
Competing in Aruak City has never been for the faint of heart or the weak willed.
Combat is combat, wherever you go. Blood will flow as always, and now many innocents
will be caught in the middle, but those who defend Aruak's traditions never target
those who bring respect of Aruaki customs with them to our home.
So ignore the private ranting announcement brought by the stuporous
Frothingsloshers. If you choose Aruak City, do not choose it for an unsanctioned and
bogus 'contest', choose it for the tradition. Choose it because Aruak is different.
