                                 DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
                             Notes from the arena champ.

I hate losing to a standby and still taking the title. It's a bad sign for the
arena, let alone for me personally. Oh, well, I cede today's column to the victor,
the Kung Fu Master.

I salute Koronedus, poor gladiator though he is, for doing the honorable thing
and letting ME write the column. After all, I won the title fight. He did make an
effort, of sorts, but he just isn't up to combat at this level of expertise. All I
had to do was kick him in the mouth a couple of times and he wimped out on me.

                                    Geroge Krag
                                         Master of Kung-Fu

                                      SPY REPORT

The sages err'd not in their foretelling of a god descending upon NIANIA, for I,
Novgorodny Vir, have returned! TEAM HAVOK? Who? THE GOLDEN FISH is the top team
these days, buddies! THE GOLDEN FISH had cause to celebrate, after GILLANDE got 16
points by beating EMBEZZLING SCRIBE. SPIRITUAL PAIN certainly had a baffled
expression on his face, after losing to FRATSFA SLAVE and losing 11 points in the
process! Our Duelmaster has lost, folks, lost to KHALHUMS DWARF, BUT KORONEDUS is
still the Duelmaster because he has the most recognition points! Word has it one
team in NIANIA is taking speech lessons to try to bore their opponent to death. I'll
bet it works.
A Zenmaster once told me, 'Does not the spinning wheel turn? And do not the
little birds cry out?' Any ideas?
Like the wind whispering among the pines, do hearest I many disquieting rumors.
Word has it TEAM HAVOK is planning on terminating more THE GOLDEN FISH members, if
they have so little to fear from revenge... Oh hard! that to strike a flame, the
match itself must needs be wasting!
Leave me now, you base fools! Keep those sands bloody and the buzzards fat!
Can anything compare to the pleasure of writing Spyreports for NIANIA? On that giddy
note I take my leave-- Novgorodny Vir

Allan Ohata -- Wow, you had me in oh! hatta watta in no time at all! (falling into a
heap through laughter at her own wit) But let's us not do this again. Once is
enough, or however many times it's been. I really don't need your help in depressing
my rating. People can even up-challenge me and win, you know. -- Gillande

Edward O'Hare -- I've been asking around, and people tell me you're either some kind
of "airport," whatever THAT is, or a rabbit. Well, not exactly a rabbit, but close
enough for the non-experts. I vote for the rabbit. -- Harolue

Yukio Okutus -- (bouncing on his toes, twirling around a couple of times, and
grinning) You're too big. As well enter an ox in a horse race. -- Dolovor the Over-

This Convicted Thief is pitiful, unworthy of a match with me. -- Sarovond

Sarovond -- I let you win your first fight, right? So what are you going to do for
me? -- Zag the Dip, Convicted Thief

Hand of God -- You've got it in for us orcs, don't you? -- Doland Sork, Captured Orc

Hand of Hell -- I like hearing you gladiators squeal. -- Red Barkol, as Dangerous as
they come, and they say I'm a Criminal, but what do they know?

Vendetta -- I'll be good next time! Honest, don't hit me again! -- Jenj, Fratsfa Slave

Spiritual Pain -- Yes, yes, I feel it! I do! -- Jenj, Fratsfa Slave

Iron Gypsy -- You gotta practice your footwork. -- Moro Salleshi, Ambitious Guard
P.S. Not that I mind the win.

I have not been receiving my physical turns in a reliable manner lately. If there
are diplos with the turns that go missing, they're gone for good. So if you send me
a diplo and do not see an acknowledgement of receipt in the personals, know that I
have not gotten it (yet). If you have email, contact me at Livia AT reality DOT com.
If you don't have email, keep trying with the diplos. We are working on this
problem. -- the Scribe/Jorja/Leeta
