Notes from the arena champ.
Well! I consider Nick's behavior in denying me my column last cycle to be
reprehensible and totally Not Hoyle. True, it was just the Khalhums Dwarf again, but
still.
Hmm, at least M. Chardinee makes a change. It would appear that no one on our
team has fought Chardinee in a year, because he isn't on the list. Well, he's there
now, with the notation: a pushover, challenge freely. Of course, he didn't teach a
single thing worth knowing, but that's the Chardinees for you: stingy.
And now, at last, the Commission recognizes my worth. I am to go to the Isle,
although Nick insists that I won't fight there. What does HE know, eh? I am 13 11
19 9 17 8 7 PS, with an expert in Parry (I am expert in many things, actually, but
the Commission doesn't care about them). I favor the Broadsword, or so the
Commission says (what do THEY know?), and a rhythm of low/high.

SPY REPORT
You elder fighters surely remember me. The younger ones may call me Olaf
Modeen. I return to OSKSI once again! What's with MUMBLEDY PEG? She actually beat
AESIR's HODUR, and walked away with 21 more points from the fight. Laughs were big
at GAMES LIBRARY while they watched MUMBLEDY PEG clobber HODUR. He lost 19 points
and got bruised from objects thrown from the stands. I'm sure OSKSI is excited about
BUD SMITH, the new Duelmaster from BOMBAY BUMBLE BEES. (remember?) But when you've
seen as many as I have... Advice to fighters with a 1 will--give up fighting!
Speaking of cowardly avoiders and unfair challenges...
Warriors of OSKSI unite. You have only your games to lose! Yeah, yeah, HEARTS
killed EOLIS, who was "too young to die." Well, he was a fighter, and that's what
you have to face. How long have I been here? I got people to see, places to go...
Who knows what the future holds for a warrior. More fights, there's no doubt.
Are you as tired of reading this as I am of writing it? Actually, I guess I'm
writing it before you read it. Oh, well. I don't want to overstay my welcome...--
