                                      by Hammer

As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country. --
Proverbs 25:25

The eve of the launching of ZalCon II had dawned upon a far away land where
Hammer thoughtfully pondered upon the faded and tattered handbill that had been
secretly sent to him via Elven courier.
Hammer had been content to run stables in the now severely downsized Niytyole
Island in DM 33 and the Madness in Morya Arena in DM 28 while he focused upon matters
in other lands.
His attention to other things at hand in far away lands had left these two
stables to fend for themselves; and now that Hammer had returned to a remote outpost
where he could again refocus his attention to these stables, Hammer found that death
had visited 4 of his warriors in DM 33 and that the Madness had numbed the
effectiveness of his warriors in DM 28.
Now Zalgor Prigg had RELOADED ZalCon II in DM 4 and Hammer was finding the call
on the wind tugging at his managerial membrane to send a new stable to DM 4 to get
reacquainted with old friends and friendly foes to see who had assembled for the
festivities.
Hammer had reasoned that the ZalCon II was yet another contest that he would
have to turn aside from; afterall, other matters had demanded Hammer's attention and
interests to the point of deactivating his stable during the contest in Stormcrowe DM
45 where the activities of the Slaughter House competitors could not sway him to
remain.
Even the approaching Turf War in DM 47 was unable to stay Hammer's hand from
deactivating his stable in North Fork where many months ago Hammer had dispatched a
band of warriors to develop themselves to compete in the Turf War.
Now the ZalCon was Reloaded and Hammer knew that some of Alastari's Most FAMOUS
DM Managers would assemble for the 20 rounds of competition to claim the Prestige and
Prizes being offered there.
Hammer reminded himself that the Inaugeral ZalCon in DM 74 had drawn him to send
a stable from afar, but matters at hand during that time had forced Hammer to turn
his attention from the excitement upon the ZalCon sands and deactivate his Qatar
Hammerz.
From time to time Hammer would turn his gaze upon the ZalCon reports from afar,
but alas, Hammer had rarely the time to view the results when able without an active
ZalCon stable.
Now the Reloading in DM 4 had begun and Hammer was weighing the odds of entering
a new stable from afar in spite of the fact that by the time such a stable was
registered officially with the paperwork submitted to the Gladiatorial Commission,
the ZalCon II field would have a 3 or 4 round head start on Hammer's warriors.
Not that Hammer expected his stable to garner any of the awards, but rather the
adventure of mixing his warriors with other Famous DM Managers may soon be out of
reach for even Hammer's purposes.

   [TIME JUMP]

Hammer looked intently at the two warriors who had been summoned via his Elven
Orb of Transport from the training ground on Hammer's Morya Manor Estate on the Lake.
The Dwarf and Shagnornan Elf eyed their Famous Manager as Hammer reviewed their
paperwork and the recommendation from their gladiator trainer GrimmDorr.
"The two of you interest me," Hammer began with a wry smile. "Very rarely do any
of my warriors compete in the ADM ranks once they have graduated. On occasion, a very
few have crossed blades for a turn or more, before retiring."
The two warriors exchanged puzzled glances as Hammer continued to shuffle some
papers, before extending a faded and tattered handbill for the two to view.
"As you can see," explained Hammer, "Zalgor Prigg has Reloaded another ZalCon
which has already begun in DM 4. I am offering the two of you an opportunity to
compete there with 3 other gladiators that I have selected. Obviously, you and your
stable mates will be at somewhat of a disadvantage as far as being able to compete
for any awards. By the time the Gladiatorial Commission processes the paperwork,
ZalCon II will most likely be in round 3 or round 4."
The Dwarf and Shagornan Elf did not bat an eye, looking intently at Hammer.
"So why would I send a stable once the ZalCon II has already neared the first
quarter of completion? And why have I summoned the two of you here? Quite simple,
really. The two of you intrigue me to the point that I am willing to allow you to
compete in ADM if you can keep from being Killed during the course of the remaining
rounds of ZalCon II and manage to Graduate after the contest has run its course!"
The Dwarf and Shagornan Elf knelt before Hammer as they began confessing their
vows to do their best to fulfill Hammer's interest in their potential.
"Most other Managers would not consider sending either of you to ADM," Hammer
stated matter of factly, "but I am NOT like Most Managers. If you can survive the
ZalCon Reloaded Blades, then I will grant you both ADM Glory!"
Hammer extended his hand to each of the warriors as they rose to embrace their
Manager in Grand Gladiatorial Fashion.
"It amuses me to send a Special Salute to some of the DM Managerial Community,"
Hammer continued with a chuckle. "Therefore I am naming this stable FAMOUS DM
HAMMERZ. Each Hammer warrior in this stable will bear the name of a Famous DM
Manager!"
Hammer stepped forward to lay his hands on the Dwarf's shoulders, saying, "You
my friend have the Best Potential for Surviving this Great Test You shall be known as
WIMPY HAMMER. May Your Blades Ring True!"
Then Hammer stepped forward to the Shagornan Elf, saying, "You are indeed as
Unorthodox as ANY of those warriors I have sent to the sands. You shall serve as Team
Captain and carry the name HAMMER HAMMER to ZalCon II!!."
Hammer withdrew 3 documents from the folds of his cloak and handed them to the
Newly Annointed FAMOUS DM HAMMERZ Team Captain.
"When you return to my Morya Manor Estate on the Lake," Hammer explained, "hand
these documents over to GrimmDorr. He will order the Convincian ASSUR HAMMER, the
Karrugit Swamp Dweller RILLION HAMMER and the Half Elf GREEK GUY HAMMER to make ready
to journey with you to Jhelum and the ZalCon Reloaded in DM 4!!!!!"

   [TIME JUMP]

Hammer was being as patient as he could possibly be regarding the processing of
the paperwork with the Gladiatorial Commission to register his FAMOUS DM HAMMERZ
stable to compete with the current combatants in the ZalCon Reloaded in DM 4.
Hammer's newest stable of gladiators were making their way to Jhelum, slowly but
surely, Unannounced and Unheralded as Hammer had chosen to SURPRISE the Collection of
ZalCon Comatants with the SUDDEN Appearance of his FAMOUS DM HAMMERZ.
Hammer had chosen the following warriors to represent his stable of FAMOUS DM
HAMMERZ on the Basis of their FAME from among the Ranks of the DM Managerial
Community, both ON and OFF the DM Round Table, from whence Hammer had been Inactive
for Many Long Months.
The Convincian named ASSUR HAMMER had been selected to represent Hammer's stable
of FAMOUS DM HAMMERZ in ZalCon II's Basher Style Masters category. Afterall,
Assurnasirbanipal/Mikey was known far and wide for his Famous Affinity of sending a
Variety of Bashers to the Basic Arena sands where Assur competed and had triumphed in
a Blood Games prior to the start of the Morya Madness with a Basher.
The Dwarf named WIMPY HAMMER had been selected to represent Hammer's FAMOUS DM
HAMMERZ in the Total Parody Style Masters category of ZalCon II. Wimpy's varied
stables of WIMPS were Known to be TARGETS in Every Arena where Wimpy competed. Wimpy
was Famous for his Personal Ad Orations on How Hopelessly Outmatched his WIMPS were
on the sands, yet time and again his WIMPS would find a way to compete, especially in
the contests throughout Alastari. Wimpy was also Famous for Graduating the FIRST EVER
Warrior from Aradi DM 60. That Gladiator had been an Aimed Blow, so Hammer thought it
Fitting and Amusing to send WIMPY HAMMER as a Total Parody for the ZalCon II
Festivities. WHAT A TARGET!!!!!
The Karrugit Swamp Dweller named RILLION HAMMER had been selected to represent
Hammer's stable of FAMOUS DM HAMMERZ in the Lunger Style Masters category of ZalCon
II. Rillion was a Famous Competitor who was EVEN MORE FAMOUS for his Ale Sodden
Remarks Lunging form the Round Table and Personal Ads with a Famously Uncanny Ability
for Stirring Up Controversy Without Really Trying!!!!!
The Half Elf named GREEK GUY HAMMER had been selected to represent Hammer's
stable of FAMOUS DM HAMMERZ in the Striker Style Masters category of ZalCon II. The
Greek Guy was Famous for stepping in as Rillion's Conscience by Explaining Time and
Again what his Alliance Mate MEANT or DID NOT MEAN to Say and Do. Famous also was the
Ability for The Greek Guy to Back His Pal Rillion with Many a Sharpened Blade and Wit
in the Basic Arena Sands and P-ads. Yet Hammer remembered The Greek Guy for his MOST
FAMOUS Accomplishments of Winning the First Two Hammer Sponsored Contests featuring
the NOW FAMOUS category known as the FID/ First Initiate Duelmaster, Both Times with
a Stiker in Niytyole Island DM 33!!!!!
The Shagornan Elf named HAMMER HAMMER had been annointed as Team Captain and
selected to represent Hammer's stable of FAMOUS DM HAMMERZ in the Total Parody Style
Masters category of the ZalCon II in DM 4. Hammer was Famous throughout Alastari for
writing Entertaining Team Spotlights in a variety of Basic Arenas. Which is Why You,
Dear Reader, are Absorbed in the Enjoyment of Reading Hammer's Latest Scribing Right
Here in the ZalCon Reloaded DM 4 Newsletter!!!!! Hammer is ALSO Famous for his Use,
Misuse and Abuse of Exclamation Points!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Famous ALSO is Hammer's
Promotions of Contests, Most Notably in Niytyole Island DM 33 and the Current Madness
in Morya DM 28. Which is Why Hammer is Drawn to Compete or at Least Make Appearances
in Support of Zalgor Prigg's Contest Promotions!!!!! Hammer is Also Famous for
Creating Gladiators from Rollups that Most Managers would either Send to the Dark
Arena or Most Notably Choose a Style Design MUCH Different from Hammer's Choice of
Gladiator Style. Such is the Case with HAMMER HAMMER!!
Many Other Famous DM Managers are CERTAIN to have Journeyed to Jhelum DM 4 for
the ZalCon Reloaded Competition. Perhaps a Death will Find YOUR NAME Added to
Hammer's Stable?????

   [TIME JUMP]

Other matters had preoccupied Hammer's attention to the point where being able
to scout the arena landscape of Jhelum DM 4 had been virtually impossible to do prior
to the Opening Round of the ZalCon II Reloaded.
Now the Opening Round Reloaded Report had just become available the very day
Hammer found himself free to receive the latest news from DM 4.
It was Quite a Shock to See Guardian's Gladiator MARCH MADNESS sitting atop the
DM 4 Throne with a 7-1-0,65 record and his STANLEY'S CUP sitting among 2 other
challengers with a 2-0-0,52 record in the Adepts Class; followed by 3 other
gladiators listed in the Challenger Inits Class [2 Active] and a Field of 68
Initiates [60 Active] Eager to Climb the Seemingly Short Rungs to the DM 4 Duelmaster
Throne!!!!!
Hammer had to Commend Zalgor Prigg for Launching his Reloaded ZalCon II in an
All But Dead Delarq Arena that was Now Granted New Life with the Promise of Many More
Deaths to Visit the Jhelum Sands in DM 4.
"Shadowgate must be Well Pleased by this turnout," thought Hammer to himself as
he noted the P-ads where Shadowgate mentioned that Jhelum was his Home Arena
containing 2 teams. "His efforts to keep his Home Arena Alive have Paid Off Quite
Well. I see 34 listed teams and only 4 of them are Inactive. Splendid! Splendid
Indeed!! My FAMOUS DM HAMMERZ should arrive by T-494 to Help Keep Things Interesting
and Entertaining Throughout the Remainder of ZalCon II!!!!!"
Hammer also noted that Sponsoring Host Zalgor Prigg had arrived with his PURPLE
AND GOLD stable along with his Comrade In Arms TigToad with his DARK TOADS stable.
Conspicuously Absent were Wimpy [Andorian By Nature] and Any Opening Round Team
Spotlights by the Contenders or Pretenders Competing in the ZalCon II Reloaded.
"Well," thought Hammer, "Turn 494 Should Prove to Be a Somewhat Heftier
Newsletter If This Team Spotlight I Am Submitting Is Any Indication of What Is In
Store for the Team Spotlight Section of the DM 4 Newsletter????"
Another Absence of Sorts that Hammer Noticed at a Glance was DREAMERS (569)
listed in the W-L Record Last 3 Turns with an 0-5, But Failing to Appear in Print
Among the Top Teams Career W-L Record.
Upon Closer Scrutiny, Hammer Noted that the Inactive Stable SIGN OF CHAOS (185)
was Listed in the Career Column and Not in the Last 3 Turns Column.
"An Obvious Sign of Chaos!" mused Hammer as he drummed his fingertips
thoughtfully upon the tabletop where he was seated. Then turning his attention to a
Young Alliance Notice, the Veteran Manager murmured, "I see Apex and Flagg have left
the ranks of the Vendetta Cartel to join forces with Matrix, Assamite and Rude Buddha
to form CHAOS INC and they are headed for ZalCon II to Disrupt the Order of Seemingly
Perfectly Laid Plans to Reload ZalCon II with Chaos!!!!!"
Hammer remembered Flagg requesting to join the Crimson Ascension, which then
became the Crimson Ascension Family in the Vendetta Cartel when Master Darque offered
Hammer a Captaincy and Invitation to Enlist Hammer's Newly Formed Alliance as Family
Members of the VC.
Flagg Went Inactive Without Much Explanation in the Madness in DM 28 and Had Not
Had the Courtesy to Diplo Hammer that he was Now Affiliated with a New Alliance.
Unlike Youngblood Who Had Contacted Hammer That He Was Leaving the Crimson
Ascension Family of the VC to Forge New Alliance Ties with SunGod, Dark Spirit,
Tripwire and SOL as The Firm.
There was No Evidence of Any of The Firm Members having Migrated to the Reloaded
Rumble in Jhelum, but Hammer had No Axe to Grind with his Former Lieutenant and had
given Youngblood his Blessing to Venture Forth upon the Sands under a Different
Banner to Seek Fame and Glory.
Flagg and His Position was Another Matter.
Hammer had Decided that Immaturity and Pressing Matters in the Real Life World
had Prevented Flagg from Sending Any Communication as to His Decision to Leave the VC
Crimson Ascension Family
Flagg Combining Forces with some Young Lions to Form a New Alliance to Wreak
Havoc Wherever They Chose to Invade an Arena was Most Interesting to Hammer.
     Chaos Indeed!!!!!
Again, Hammer had No Axe to Grind with Apex, who had the Courtesy to Announce
his Departure from the VC in an All Arena Ad, but there was Uncertainty Regarding
Flagg and Where His Chaotic Bend Would Take Him.
Surveying the Reloaded Round One P-ads, Hammer noted that Flagg and Assamite had
Already Announced Their Presence. Hammer would Keep an Eye on FLAGG XVI-CHAOS (565)
and DRACONOMICON (557) the Next 3 Rounds to Ascertain Their Intent and Purpose along
with their Alliance Mates who were sure to Reveal Their Stables and Motivations Soon
Enough!!!!!
Another study of the listed stables assured Hammer that Dreihdenflagh, managing
THE DREIHDENS 2 would Stand Ready to Cross Blades with the Chaos Group and if Odd
Names Mean Anything, it Appeared that the Vendetta Cartel was Also Represented by
that Mad Cyclist Dr. Mabuse, Who Always Chose to Name His Stables with Cycling Racing
Themes.
RONDE VAN NOORD-HOL. (536) Must Certainly Be a Cycling Racing Theme with the
likes of THIJS ZONNEVELD (5580), ARNE KORNEGOOR (5578), MATTHE' PRONK (5581), BRAM DE
WAARD (5701) and RUUD AERTS (5582) being the Types of Warriors that Dr. Mabuse Would
Choose to Name for a Cycling Racing Themes Stable.
Two Other Vendetta Cartel Members Hammer Could Count On To Cross Blades With
Chaos Were None Other Than Slaughter Priest With His SHOCK TROOPS (544) and MILLENIUM
METAL (558) Managed By Street Legal.
"Always Good To See Allies And Friends In An Arena Where Some Upstart Is Flexing
His Mouth Muscles!" exclaimed Hammer as he jotted some notes for further reference.
Hammer Observed that SUPERIOR FORCES ZC (546), THE FORCE II (537), PURPLE AND
GOLD (571), DARK TOADS (534) and ARENA FELINES (554) Respectively Managed By manager,
Rillion, Zalgor Prigg, TigToad and Garfield would Gladly put Chaos in its Place at a
Moment's Notice.
So Too Would Guardian and Assurnasirbanipal of SPORTZ! (518) and DIFFERENT HATS
(532) if they Became Provoked Enough By Any P-ad Chaos Leveled Their Way. These Two
Veterans had Warriors Developed Above the Initiates Rankings Ready to Reign on the
Chaos P-ad Parade If Such Action So Warranted!!!!!
     Afterall...Jhelum Is A Delarq Arena!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Already First Blood Had Been Inflicted VS Flagg in the Opening Round as THE
CRUNCH (5883) put the Death Bite on ISENE IALLIA (5856) as had CHEETO (5882) VS
Assamite's Ripper Warrior VOREL (5789).
CHEETO'S HEROES (568) had Already Introduced Their Own Brand of Chaos vs the
Chaos Inc stables managed by Flagg and Assamite; thus Hammer would find Great
Amusement in Watching their Alliance React in Upcoming Reloaded Rounds!!!!
     Who Would Bloody Their Blades?
     Who Would Stay Their Hand?
Perhaps Round Two of Reloaded would Provide some Prized Revelations?????
Then there was Another Important Player to Consider in the Overall Scheme of
Things...One Manager that Chaos Inc had Best Tread Softly in His Presence!!!!!
Shadowgate claimed Jhelum DM 4 as his Home Arena and Any Unwarranted Chaos Could
Inspire a Culling via the Blades of Shadowgate's CRUSADE (505) to Quell Any Further
Chaos!!!!
Meanwhile...Wally The Wacko was About to Learn Firsthand what it's like to be on
the Receiving End of a Shadowgate Inspired Bloodfeud!!!!!
Wally The Wacko's Warrior [Gotta Luv that Arena Alliteration!!!!!] DIRTY DEEDS
(5640) had Slain Shadowgate's Piker named DEFENDER (5711).
There were Times when Shadowgate Seemed to be Forgiving and Easy Going to the
Point that he would Allow a Bloodfeud Possibility to Pass Itself By...If It Suited
His Purpose To Do So in the Greater Scheme of His Seemingly Well Laid Plans.
But How Would He Handle The Deaths Of His Warriors In His Home Arena????
What About His Reaction to the Muscle Mouthed Upstarts Seeking to Spread Their
Unique Brand of Chaos in Shadowgate's Home Arena????
Reloaded Round 2 Might Begin to Provide These and Other Answers.
Rillion's Basher SIREN WOLF (5719) had taken the Early Reloaded Round One Lead
over DIRTY DEEDS (5640) by Scoring a Kill to Silence SILENCER (5860) of HITMEN FOR
HIRE (560) from among the gladiators declared in the Opening Round P-ads.
Papaiz had Scored 2 Early Leads from his BLACK & BLUE (547) stable from among
the Declared Gladiators listed in the Opening Round P-ads with his Aimer DARK
CHAMPION (5869) and Total Parody FRAGILE (5693)
Hammer would Entertain Himself by Tracking these 3 categories to Help Pass the
Time when other matters relented from occupying his focus ElseWhere or ElseWhen.
"As for the other categories," surmised Hammer to himself, "we can just leave
that up to someone else to keep track of and print the information in due time.
Although the Rippers do interest me and I see that JOLT (5660) of SHOCK TROOPS (544)
managed by Slaughter Priest has taken the Early Lead from among those listed in the
Opening Round P-ads."
Surveying the Field of the Reloaded Opening Round Initiates, Hammer searched for
a gladiator to Wager a Bag of Gold upon to Win the ZalCon II Reloaded FID Award.
"Has to be HEINOUS DEEDS (5655) of THE DREIHDENS 2 (543) managed by
Dreihdenflagh," Hammer concluded as he filed the Reloaded paperwork away for Future
Reference.
"Afterall, what with Iker in his Corner Giving Him Some Pointers along the way,
Dreihdenflagh is the Hands Down Favorite to Find a Way to Maneuver His Gladiator Up
the Ranks to Be Crowned the First Initiate Duelmaster from among the Contenders and
the Pretenders in ZalCon II Reloaded!!!!!"

   [TIME JUMP]

The Opening Round of Turf War 3 in North Fork DM 47 was but a Fortnight Away.
Again the Whispering Winds Came Calling to Hammer in a Land Far Removed and a Long
Ways Off.
It Was A Call That Hammer Could No Longer Ignore.
Hammer Set Himself to the Task of Adjusting Strategies with his Turf War stable
for Comparison with any of his FAMOUS DM HAMMERZ Gladiators of Like Style.
The Time Had Come for Hammer to Once Again Make His Presence Known Among Friends
and Friendly Foes Throughout Alastari.
The Thrill of Crossing Blades and Matching Wits Among Alastari's Best was an
Invigorating Tonic Indeed!!!!

   [TIME JUMP]

Hammer was getting restless for some word from the Gladiatorial Commission that
his FAMOUS DM HAMMERZ had arrived for their registration in
Jhelum.
Alas, the Reloaded Round 2 Report revealed NO TRACE of Hammer's newest active
stable.
However, it was interesting to note the Basher DIRTY DEEDS of ROCKING CREW led
the FID pack with a 2-0-1,31 as a Challenger Init.
His closest pursuer in the Basher category was GROTESQUE 2-0-1,19 of DARK TOADS
in the Inits class.
Hammer realized that he only had P-ad Declarations to go by from last cycle and
this, but it amused him to keep track of the known contestants until standings were
publicly revealed in the Jhelum newsletter.
Afterall, manager was bound to have at least a couple of Scum groomed for the
Total Parody contest, but keeping track of the Known Contestants Declared in the
Round 1 and Round 2 P-ads would suffice for now.
Garfield's CAT TUSION of ARENA FELINES was leading the Aimer field with a 2-0-
0,19 record; while NOI of TEERAK HA was in close pursuit with a 2-0-0,15 record.
The Total Parody category was currently held by WHITE DOG of MAYAN WHITE with a
2-0-0,15 record; slimly leading AQUALUNG of ROCKING CREW with a 2-0-0,14 record.
However, JUSTGIVEITUP of manager's SUPERIOR FORCES ZC2 Sounded Suspiciously to
be in the Total Parody category also with a 2-0-0,14 record.
Hammer would have to wait for a viewing of the Entire Field of Declared
Contestants to know Who Exactly was competing in the mix.
Although Hammer had No Rippers entered in the ZalCon Reloaded, the category
still held a Great Interest for him.
Shadowgate held the lead with his GREEN KNIGHT of CRUSADE with a 2-0-0,14
record; followed by GREAT NOTION of THOROUGHBREDS with a 1-1-0,12 record .
[GN had been declared as a THORNBIRDS contestant, but the stable name was
registered by the Gladiatorial Commission as THOROUGHBREDS].
Either a Bad Case of Penmanship for the Typist to Decipher or a Bad Case of
Memory by DRF.
As for Hammer's Bag of Gold Wager on HEINOUS DEEDS to be anointed as the FID
Winner; Dreihdenflagh's Striker had plummeted to an 1-1-0,8 record as a result of
being Bested in a 1 minute Challenge by fellow contestant STIGMA of ORCON THUGS 2-0-
0,19.
"Still plenty of time to win that wager," mused Hammer as he turned his
attention ElseWhere.

   [TIME JUMP]

     AT LAST!!!!!
Hammer was pleasantly surprised to find his FAMOUS DM HAMMERZ listed in the
ZalCon Reloaded Round 3 Report.
Of course, the newsletter containing the fight results would probably NOT Arrive
at Hammer's Outpost until the eve of Round 4 at the earliest, but Hammer was thrilled
none the less that his stable had made its mark sooner than expected.
Scanning the fight results, both RILLION HAMMER and ASSUR HAMMER had scored
Kills in their debut fights.
Manager's Plunger ROULETTE of SUPERIOR FORCES ZC2 had been Murdered by RILLION
HAMMER in a 2 minute bloody one-sided fray.
The Veteran Manager known as manager would certainly send his SCUM to Revenge
the Blood Feud and Gain a Victory over RILLION HAMMER.
The Question Was if manager would be Satisfied with One Blood Feud Victory or
Push for 4 during the ZalCon Reloaded?
Obviously, it would Depend Upon the Strategy of the Veteran Manager known as
manager as to what would be the Best Course of Action to Win the Total Parody
category of the ZalCon Reloaded Style Masters competition.
Hammer would be Surprised if JUSTGIVEITUP did NOT Blood Feud and WAS NOT a Total
Parody competitor.
BOB of WESTSIDE BULLOCKS was barely slain by ASSUR HAMMER in a 2 minute Brutal
Amateur's match.
According to the Round 3 P-ads, BOB was a Lunger managed by a "Complete Newbie"
named Farnham.
"What a Rough Way to be Introduced to the ZalCon," surmised Hammer as he thought
upon the course of action the Newbie Manager Farnham might undertake to Revenge the
Blood Feud. "Yet it seems Fitting to be Subjected to this Baptism of Fire due to the
fact that Jhelum is a Delarq Arena, Newbie Manager or Not."
Hammer thought upon the First Time he had sent a stable to a Delarq Arena. DEATH
DUCK 1 of DA DEADLY DUCKS was also a Basher who scored a Kill vs a Lunger on His
Debut Fight on the Kaltos Sands.
However, the Kill was scored against the Veteran Manager named mouse of "The
Mouse Trap" DM Handbook Fame, although mouse was using a Different Managerial Alias
at the time with the stable he was running in Kaltos.
Turned out that mouse's Lunger as a Godling and mouse lost interest in playing
in Kaltos immediately after the Execution of his Godling Lunger 7+ years ago.
There Had Been NO Blood Feud!!!!
"I hope that Farnham Does NOT Get Discouraged by the Loss of his Lunger and
Leave Jhelum," thought Hammer as he remembered other Newbies who had left the game in
the wake of Losing a Favorite Warrior to the Blade of Another.
It would be Important to Send a P-ad to this Newbie Manager and Encourage Him to
Continue Competing in the ZalCon Reloaded.
Zalgor Prigg was well aware that Hammer had sent a stable to DM 4 for the ZalCon
2 Reloaded; afterall, MAGIC JOHNSON 2-1-0,12 of Zalgor's PURPLE AND GOLD had Won
Victory over WIMPY HAMMER in a 2 minute Novice's match.
Of course, the Reloaded Host had Probably Viewed the Newsletter via Special
Courier well before Hammer was aware that his FAMOUS DM HAMMERZ had arrived in
Jhelum.
Vendetta Cartel Member Dreihdenflagh gained a Victory with his Lunger UNLEASHED
FURY 2-1-0,10 of THE DREIHDENS 2 by Defeating GREEK GUY HAMMER in an action packed 1
minute Beginner's fight.
Fellow Vendetta Cartel Member Street Legal also gained a Victory as HAMMER
HAMMER was Overpowered by TANTRIC in a 1 minute one-sided match.
Better to Lose to Fellow VC Members than to be Defeated by others; afterall, the
Alliance Mates Gain the Benefits of Victory!!
Hammer noted that Dreihdenflagh's Striker HEINOUS DEEDS 2-1-0,12 had Only 57
Opponents Between Himself and the FID Lead for Hammer to Win His Bag of Gold Wager,
after Beating DREAMER 0-3-0,3 of DREAMERS in a Popular 1 minute Novice's fight.
Slasher CHARLEY PATTON 3-0-0,28 of CLASSIC BLUES held the FID lead over
TigToad's Basher GROTESQUE 3-0-1,27 of DARK TOADS and manager's ANDROMEDA 2-1-0,27 of
SUPERIOR FORCES ZC2; after being the Most Challenged Warrior of Round 3 and Handily
Defeating fellow Slasher competitor MAD LEE 1-2-0,5 of INSANE REIGN in a 1 minute
Challenge Bout Initiated by ML.
However, GROTESQUE was leading the Basher competition [at least according to
those listed in the P-ads for rounds 1 thru 3] over Rillion's SIREN WOLFE 3-0-1,24
after GROTESQUE Devastated MATTHE' PRONK 1-2-0,5 of RONDE VAN NOORD-HOL. in a 1
minute Uneven Bloodfeud Brawl.
It was the ONLY Blood Feud of the Cycle, Meaning that the Other Reloaded
Competitors Seemed to Be Letting Well Enough Alone as they Appeared to Concentrate on
Their Style Masters Contestants.
NOI 3-0-0,26 of TEERAK HA was leading the Aimers with THE MACHINE 3-0-0,25 of
FORCE OF FIVE in Hot pursuit.
Among the listed Total Parodies at Hammer's disposal, WHITE DOG 3-0-0,19 of
MAYAN WHITE held a Somewhat More or Less Comfortable Lead over KRAVEN 2-1-0,15 of
SHOCK TROOPS and VANGUARD 3-0-0,14 of ORCCON THUGS.
However, it was Almost Certain in Hammer's Mind that manager's JUSTGIVEITUP 3-0-
0,24 of SUPERIOR FORCES ZC2 was a Total Parody SCUM who Actually Led the TP category.
Only Time and Blood Feud would Tell for Sure!!!!
Hammer noticed that in a Battle of Rippers that PUSSY-FOOTED 0-3-0,3 of ARENA
FELINES was Overcome by GREAT NOTION 2-1-0,15 of THOROUGHBREDS in a 3 minute Novice's
Challenge Fight; while GREEN KNIGHT 2-1-0,7 of CRUSADE was Outlasted by JOLT 2-1-0,15
of SHOCK TROOPS in a 7 minute Beginner's Challenge Struggle; thus making GREAT NOTION
and JOLT the Rippers to Beat Early On in the Reloaded Rippers Style Master
competition.
Reaching for Pen and Paper with Little or NO Regard for the Misfortunes of Flagg
in the early rounds, Hammer hastily scrawled a Note of Encouragement to be Forwarded
to his stable of FAMOUS DM HAMMERZ via Special Courier:
"Do Not Despair In The Face Of Conflict...But Walk In The Path Of The Mighty One
Of Old. Take Heed To The Inward Voice In The Heat Of Battle...For The Courage To
Fight Your Way To Victory Lies Within. Meet The Challenges Head On And Fear Not!!!!!"

Rodeki:

There were just the four of them, or five if you counted Adabemis & Balmador as
two separate people, which Sue E. Syde didn't. Not much of an army to arrest a
governor. And just because "Princess Tirisha wants it done." What did the woman
expect them to DO? It was beginning to look like Adabemis & Balmador wasn't the only
crazy person around. She glanced at her companions and wondered if there was any
point in commenting on this. Not to the Dwarf with his two personalities, although
if one or the other didn't happen to like Tirisha.... No, not to him, or them. And
she had a good idea that Captain Shirivien already knew it and didn't care, at least,
not enough to run counter to Tirisha's commands. And her teammate Rob A. Ree...she
shook her head. Better just to keep quiet for now.
The streets of Rodeki were quiet, too. Very few people were out, and they were
keeping close to the sides of buildings and fading down alleys at first sight of the
group from Xochithlan. Expecting trouble, Sue guessed.
The governor's palace in Rodeki was not as impressive as Sue had expected.
Large, yes, but so...ordinary. It looked more like an office building than it did a
palace. It was built against the side of the mountain that closed in Rodeki on the
north, maybe even built back into the mountain, and it went up three stories with a
sort of tower climbing higher back along the slope. There were no majestic pillars,
no statues in niches (no niches), and only one balcony. And it was grubby. The
stone might have been light-colored originally, but years of the smelter smoke that
sometimes filled the valley had turned it blotched dark brown and sooty black.
Tirisha wasn't going to like this place at all; Sue E. Syde couldn't imagine her
living in it.
But that wasn't today's problem. Today's problem was taking it away from
Governor Milvares. Who wasn't likely to be taken by surprise....
One side of the big double door opened as the gladiators and Sirivien started up
the steps. She didn't recognize the man who came out--a Kannar, late middle age,
looked like a man used to wielding authority. It might be the governor himself.
When they were close enough to hear him without shouting, he said, "Why have you come
here?"
The gladiators instinctively looked toward Captain Shirivien. "On the order of
our lady, Princess Tirisha of Xochithlan," he said. "She has commanded us to arrest
Governor Milvares."
"On what grounds?" The man's voice was still calm, but there was steel in it.
Shirivien hesitated. "The Princess has not offered us explanation. It is not
our place to question, only to obey."
A voice from overhead said, "We could drop things on them from here, even though
we don't have proper stuff like boiling lead."
Sue glanced up. There was a short woman in a Dwarven helmet on the balcony.
A tall man in arena-issue mail came up behind her. "Not yet, Gate Witch." He
added something that the people on the steps couldn't hear, but the Dwarven woman
grinned and punched him on the arm.
The man in the doorway reclaimed their attention, saying, "Your princess would
be better served if the people around her asked for explanations and offered advice.
She would be wise to return to Xochithlan."
"Are you threatening Princess Tirisha?" Adabemis or Balmador demanded.
"No, I'm offering her sound advice. It would be a good move for her to leave
Rodeki. She has no place here."
"It sounds like a threat to ME." That was definitely Balmador, the more hostile
of the two personalities.
"If you think in terms of threats," the man said, "all things sound like
threats."
Balmador opened his mouth to make a retort, but She and Shirivien moved in on
him from either side, and Sue put a hand over his mouth.
"Your advice may be good," she said, "but we have our orders."
The man made a sort of half bow and stepped back, pulling the door closed behind
him.
From the balcony, Gate Witch said, "NOW can we drop things on them, John?"
"I thought you were looking forward to fighting them in the halls," the man
replied. "If you drop things on them now, they'll never make it into the halls.
Which might not be a bad thing, when one comes to think about it...."
"Spoilsport!" Both gladiators on the balcony withdrew, and pulled that door
shut behind them also.
Rob A. Ree, whose many flaws did not include major stupidity, looked at the
closed door of the palace, and at the windows on either side, which were fifteen feet
above the ground in front of them and barred, and said, "Anybody got a pocket
battering ram?"
"I thought we were supposed to be able to just walk in," Adabemis added. "Now
what?"

Near Fratsfa:

Gladiators sailed up the river from Kati-Tei through Andor, Fratsfa, and Zensu
to the Isle of the Eye. Some came as tourists, some as newly-graduated warriors,
some to attend and participate in the Spring Tourney. This was a steady source of
income for boatmen, and many of them made the trip two or three times a month; the
river and its shores were well known to them.
"I don't remember a castle on that hill," one sailor muttered, squinting at the
shore. "And I was along here just last week...."
"There was no castle there," Lady Fern, manager of the Flower Girls in Fratsfa
confirmed. "And a week is certainly not long enough to build one!"
"There was one...eight hundred years ago," a voice murmured behind her.
The statuesque manager glanced back at her gladiatress, Nasty Nasturtium. The
woman was an Araoi, and elf of the purest blood, and Lady Fern supposed it was
possible that Nasturtium actually REMEMBERED a castle there, but she hoped not. The
thought of having a warrior that old was unsettling. "You're sure, Nasty?"
The elfin blonde nodded firmly. "Yes, my mother told me about it--one of her
brothers helped to bring the castle down. The Castle of Storms, that was its name, a
place of the darkest arts. It was the stronghold of Prince Illrienherthinil
Silverthorn, who was called the Ill Rain."
Lady Fern glanced at the sky automatically. It WAS getting cloudy, but that
was, must be, coincidence. After all, changeable weather was common at this time of
year.
"That wasn't on Khaldren's list." The short, stocky man removed his bowler and
extended a hand to Lady Fern. "Raoul, Lord Protector In Gerfel We Trust."
"Kennelworth has spoken of you," Lady Fern admitted. "But what do you know of
this Castle of Storms?"
"Not a thing, doll. But I'm wondering if Khaldren's magic isn't raising more
ruins than he planned on--anyplace with enough of the wrong kind of magic
concentrated in it."
     "This Khaldren is...?" Nasturtium asked.
"A wizard who escaped the sinking of Krael," Raoul explained. "He wants to
bring Krael forward in time, or back from the dead, or something. And other places
he knows about from that era."
"That would take a great magic," Nasturtium protested. "With the Arcanum in the
current low state, it should not be possible."
"Adie in Aruak City says he could be using blood magic based on the arena
deaths, doll. She seems to think that'd do it for him."
The elf recoiled. "It would!" she whispered, "and that would call to all sites
where dark magic has sunk deep. This must be stopped!"
"Well, I'm taking the warning to Lady Sheila--"
"She can do nothing, even if she would," Nasturtium snapped. "She dares not
touch blood magic, even to fight it, except in the most indirect fashion, and
indirection will not serve! Not soon enough, anyway."
"Adie will think of some way to fight Khaldren," Raoul said, a little uneasily.
He took a deep breath and put his hat back on. "And until he's stopped, we will
fight everything he brings up from the past."
"If we have to fight the Ill Rain," Nasty Nasturtium predicted, "it won't be
easy."

Valamantis:

Lord Protector Ka D'Argo, on a brief trip to his home on Kolact, had planned to
take ship at Valamantis. But the port city was not as he had expected. There was
always bustle, but now...it reminded him of a disturbed anthill. And where had those
towers on the landward side come from? They weren't something that could have been
built in a day, or even a year, and he'd been through here four months ago.
"It's Old Valamantis," Arenamistress Sitalva said grimly. "We've had word of
some kind of magic afoot aimed at ruined cities, and with all the blood spilled in
the recent Bloodgames, it would have been more surprising if something had NOT
happened there. But understanding why doesn't help us now. The oldest levels of Old
Valamantis," she said grimly, "were Folstrom. NOBODY wants to see the Folstrom loose
in the world again."
"Bringing the ruins back is one thing," the tall gladiator argued, "but the
people...? Surely Ahringol won't release their souls because of a spell and some
blood."
Sitalva watched the slight wavering of the resurrected towers and shivered,
though the day was already warm. "We'll find out, when the city stabilizes. The
Silver Mage says sometime in the next week and a half or two weeks. But we can see
people moving around in there. And even if they're zombies, it isn't going to be
good."

Iaye:

The fishing boats that had fled Iaye when the earthquakes began crept back one
by one as the Trier grew calm again. Most of them followed the coast down toward
Point, not because they needed the guidance but to see for themselves if drowned
Krael had truly risen from the waves.
     It had.
Lord Protector Goff, assistant manager of the Red Dog Gang, stood on the gently
rocking deck of his boat and stared through a spyglass at the rampart of buildings
that blocked what had been the strait between Iaye and Point. He wasn't sure what he
had expected, but not this.
Krael stood above the water, but not as it must once have looked. Many of the
taller buildings showed broken tops, and all was slimed with mud and weed. Here and
there, decaying wrecks lay in the streets or even on the roofs of houses. The smell
of dead fish was obvious even from a mile away. Krael LOOKED like a city that had
spent centuries under water. The people who moved among those ruins didn't. There
weren't enough of them to represent the entire population of the city at the time of
its disaster, he guessed at no more than two hundred. But they looked...normal.
Alive. And their activity--they seemed to be trying to clear one section of the city
of its mud and debris--were just what you'd expect.
And they seemed to take the whole situation for granted. They must KNOW, from
the state of Krael now, what had happened, but they just calmly went about cleaning
up.
That was the most unnerving thing of all.

Xochithlan:

There were no ruins around Xochithlan to rise up at the wizard's call, because
the modern city was the old city, continuously lived in for longer than most
Alastarian cities had existed. There was, perhaps, a tendency for certain long-
buried residents to stir in their graves, but if any came out to walk the streets, it
was not immediately obvious.
What was obvious was the forest.
There had been a forest around Xochithlan for a long time, but it had been
burned away during the Rirorni War. Replanting efforts had been ongoing for the last
eight years, but eight years is not long enough to bring back a major forest. And
what surrounded the city now, pressing in against the walls and disturbing the newer
suburbs, was a major forest.
Not, however, a forest such as the Xochithlani remembered.
     This was a Forest Primeval.
This was a forest that might hide...anything.
And according to the scholars of ancient texts consulted by King Feyen of
Xochithlan, it probably did.

Zuwayza:

Zuwayza was as old as Xochithlan, and there were as many dark secrets buried
under its streets. The foundation of the city, Vekhirn knew, went back to the days
before the first humans. There were Folstrom traces, but there was also something
older. Maybe more than one something. And they were all stirring. Too much blood
had been spilled here, especially in the years since the invasion--during the
invasion itself, and in the slow beating back of the Eastern forces.
And in other ways, or for other causes, as well. The court wizard had sensed a
new feeling in the people of the old city. Harder. Crueler, perhaps. Less patient,
less tolerant--and the Glorious Empire had never been noted for tolerance. The woman
Jayde, who claimed to be the daughter of Kjarran, her death and her mysterious
apotheosis, had that been the start of this dark bitterness that gripped the people?
He shrugged that off. Whatever the cause for the change of heart, blood had been
spilled. And somewhere, someone had called on spilled blood to raise old evils, and
spilled blood everywhere had answered.

Aruak City:

Adeolar stared into the gilt-framed mirror, frowning and twisting a lock of hair
between nervous fingers. Nothing she was Seeing was good. Not that the mirror was
the best way to See, but it was the only scrying device she had that was still
working. There was a bloody film over the glass that could not be washed off, and
that, she suspected, was a sign of just how bad things were. Blood magic, used to
excess, tainted everything. There was no doubt that the wizard in Zorpunt was strong
and ruthless, but what he had started seemed to be taking on a life of its own. And
no one, so far, seemed able to stop him.
She would have to take steps herself.

Dal Shang:

From the top tier of the arena, you could see a long way out to sea, because the
arena was built on a cliff above the harbor. So was a lot of the rest of Dal Shang,
but except for the governor's palace, it mostly wasn't as high as the arena.
Lord Protector Wais, who had come home to Dal Shang in a vague effort to boost
that beleaguered arena, was sitting on the top tier brooding. The arena was
shrinking faster than a pool of water in the desert. Promising warriors who were
looking for a career in the arena were not looking in THIS arena. Fourteen active
warriors last time, and two of them had been retiring by way of a Dark Arena
appearance. His own team, even, had gone inactive! Something had to be done, but he
had no idea what. Even the fans had deserted Dal Shang arena.
With a sigh, he turned away from the empty arena to look out to sea. And so he
saw the waters of the lake heave as though they were boiling, and a new--or very
old--island rise like a black reef no more than five miles off shore. Five miles is
too far away to see the details, but there was something disturbingly regular about
the broken ridgeline of that island. Like buildings....

A note for the people of the Free Cities and Lirith Kai:

Some people say that if you get rid of magic, the world will be much simpler.
Some people say that the destabilization of the Arcanum will get rid of magic. Ha!
High Magic, the stuff that highly educated wizards do, falters as the Arcanum
weakens. But there are other kinds of magic. Older. Cruder. Less vulnerable.
There's Blood Magic. Spilling blood releases power. The more blood, the more power.
And a very powerful wizard of several centuries ago, Khaldren of Krael, who
decided that he didn't want to die when the city around him was dying, has come to
the present. He's made a spell to bring Krael back from ruins, and he's tied it to
Blood Magic.
But there's more blood being spilled around Alastari than he realized, and a lot
of Lost Cities that want to live again. If you have some old ruins near your house,
and there's an arena where people are bleeding and dying, you've got trouble coming.
This is now your story, too.

It's all a plot, and probably a dark one. Where is Daylight Savings time when
you need it?

                                      SPY REPORT

Welcome JHELUM. I, Olaf Modeen remember this place well. Many the fights have
I fought here. The celebrations, the disappointments... Bein' on top is great while
it lasts, THE DREIHDENS 2. But how many friends do you have now? You know what they
say about the herd of lions who studied a judge... FLAGG XVI-CHAOS moved up 14
places, to 22nd. Some people say I ramble too much, I don't say anything relevant.
I repeat myself. I ramble. Well CRUSADE moved up 7, to 12th. What's with RAM? He
actually beat DREAMERS' TRAUMER, and walked away with 20 more points from the fight.
Major screwup at DRACONOMICON. CAEX lost 15 points to TEMPLAR. Some new strategies,
perhaps? Maybe CAEX will provide more easy wins... Try as he might, MARCH MADNESS
wasn't good enough at persuading CHASM OF IGNORANCE to step down from the
Duelmaster's throne... Wouldn't it be nice to have live subjects to practice on? I
hear some team is looking into the uses of convicted prisoners.
If at first you don't succeed, avoid. That'll get you in the Spyreports.
JHELUM thinks RONDE VAN NOORD-HOL. and their 5-16-0 is too much! If at first you
don't succeed, give up... The bums at DARK TOADS couldn't face the challenges from
RONDE VAN NOORD-HOL.! No excuse for that! How well I know the feeling of being the
most challenged warrior, ZOLA! Don't make idle boasts, they may come back to haunt
you. Fighting is a better craft than farming, FIRE BALL, but you have to pay your
dues. Being challenged by HUSBAND, 23 points above you, is dues. I have to get this
off my chest. What a low dog, HUSBAND! It can't set itself up in a real match. I
was sorry to see FIRE BALL lose. ARC BURN didn't quite know what to make of a
challenge he received from GUS of WESTSIDE BULLOCKS, who is 19 points below him. GUS
perhaps got his just desserts, seeing as he was put to death by ARC BURN and ended up
with 3 recognition points. I hate going to the effort of writing about the kind of
fights that PIGEON BLOOD gets in. It fights people like MARINA, 9 points below. I
thought PIGEON BLOOD showed great skill and promise when it lost to MARINA. All
right, so I slept through it! Big deal!
A fighter's lot is filled with strife, revenge, and killing. Some fighters
don't accept this. The best do. ASSUR HAMMER larned his lesson (TINIETON taught it
well), and we right likely won't be seein' 'im fight any WESTSIDE BULLOCKS members
with the same gusto. RILLION HAMMER was plum wore out after JUSTGIVEITUP pounded 'im
silly in a Bloodfeud. FAMOUS DM HAMMERZ'll have to get a little better before going
after JUSTGIVEITUP again! Here's some advice: study your opponent, master many
skills, fight dirty.
Many other cities have retirement homes for aged warriors. Any plans here? Are
you as tired of reading this as I am of writing it? Actually, I guess I'm writing it
before you read it. Oh, well. I don't want to overstay my welcome...-- Olaf Modeen

TGG -- Sorry but I was not able to get a spotlight out this turn. I meant to do it
before I left town but ran out of time. Didn't get a chance to do it while on
vacation. -- Rillion
P.S. But on the bright side at least I have pulled a total Ganolus on you!

This is to announce that Tantric will be entering the Striker stylemaster
competition. Thank you and good day! -- Street Legal

Just in case he makes it back from the DA, I would like to announce Gamble1 as a
contestant in the Parry Lunge Style Master competition. -- Rillion

Zalconners -- Please enter Junky in the PL stylemaster competition. Thanks! --
Manager

All -- My new warrior for the contest is Piya, a Parry Lunge. -- LHI, mgr. Teerak Ha

I sincerely hope this was all you sent in. It was all I could pick out of the
HTML, at any rate. Is it possible for you to set your mailer to send plain
     text? -- Ed.

Ma Rainey -- Nice fight. I look forward to our next encounter. Eloodle. --
Worldbenger

Insayn Crew -- I am really sorry for your losses, you have been getting some really
bad luck so far. May the roll up gods be kind with your replacements. -- Myrdin

Um...I was not even hitting him hard yet. -- White Wizard

Jhelum -- Time to shatter this bashing mirror and try for a new style. White Mirror
is off to the DA today after much deliberation. -- Myrdin

Zalcon Admin -- Please admit Desperation into the Parry-lunger SM competition. --
Flagg

All -- How more CHAOTIC can I get? Hmmmm... a 5-0 would prove that I am truly
CHAOTIC! Anything to get me out of the cellar! -- Flagg

Reloaded Rumblers -- Hail and Well Met from across the waters and sands of the Middle
East. Am alive and well in Doha, Qatar. Newsletters take a cycle or two to arrive
here, but my stable will compete as best as it can not knowing the Style matchups and
fight results descriptions from the previously completed rounds during the course of
the ZalCon Reloaded! -- Hammer of Famous DM Hammerz

ZalCon 2 Reloaded Registration: Famous DM Hammerz managed by Hammer
Assur Hammer: Basher [Scores a Newbie Kill first time on the DM 4 sands!]
Wimpy Hammer: Total Parody [Andorian target for sure!]
Rillion Hammer: Lunger [Ironically Kills one of manager's warriors!]
Greek Guy Hammer: Striker [TGG would design a Much Better Striker!]
Hammer Hammer: Total Parody [How fitting that H2 gets listed last in the
Recognition Rankings with ID# 6013! No where to go but Up! I'm the Head and NOT the
Tail! Above and NOT Beneath! Abraham's Blessings Are Mine!] <grin>

Farnham -- I understand from reading the T-493 P-ads online overseas that you are a
"Complete Newbie". Death is a part of the game and especially in a Delarq Arena
where Down Challenging is Also an Acceptable part of the game. Our warriors met on a
Random Matchup over which neither of us had ANY control in Challenging or Avoiding
during our stables' first turn on the sands. Hopefully, you will NOT be so
Discouraged at the Loss of your Lunger Bob that you would leave the game. Mayhap you
will Lose Other Gladiators from your stable to Death as well. I hope you will Learn
from the Experiences and Grow to Enjoy this Great Gladiatorial Combat Game. Other
Newbies have left the game when one or more of their warriors have Died Unexpectedly.
Hopefully, you will NOT Follow Their Path. There are those in this arena who will
help you to Learn the Ropes of this game. Do you have Email capabilities? If so,
you may contact me via HammerDM@fastermail.com for any questions you might have. You
need to know the Weapons Suitability Chart and some other Vital Info to help your
stable of warriors to Compete on a bit more Level Playing Field than if you do NOT
have this info. Ask for an assist in the P-ads because there are one or more
Managers in this arena who will Point You in the Right Direction to Help You Compete
and Enjoy this game as we do! -- Hammer

Manager -- Been a long time since I played in an arena where you were competing. I
await your SCUM to Blood Feud Rillion Hammer. -- Hammer

Dreih -- We Cross Blades Yet Again My Fellow Vendetta Cartel Member! At least Greek
Guy Hammer survived the experience vs. Unleashed Fury! -- Hammer

Zalgor -- As you can see, my stable finally arrived from overseas in time for your
Magic Johnson to Defeat my Wimpy Hammer. Looking forward to Another Great Contest
under your Sponsorship! -- Hammer

Street Legal -- Yet Another Blade Crossing with a Fellow Vendetta Cartel Member! Not
to mention a Detroit Red Wings fan! Am Glad that Tantric spared Hammer Hammer's
experimental life! -- Hammer

Ed -- Would you PLEASE Provide a Listing of the Stables/Managers/Alliance
Affiliations to help us get acquainted with one another here in Jhelum? -- Hammer

This is teams listed in last turn's newsletter (sorry, my alliance listings are
in such chaos right now, I'm just doing managers). If I've gotten anyone's name
wrong, just le me know and I'll fix it. -- The Saint, keeper of lists

which I started writing to pass the time here in Doha since the ZalCon 2 Reloaded
began. Famous DM Hammerz are My Salute to those in our ranks who have made their
mark so to speak in the DM Community. Obviously, there are Many Other Managers to
choose from other than my Initial 5. Depends on the Style/Stats as to how I name my
warriors. Enjoy!!!!! -- Hammer

Cat Tusion -- Goodness, you've got lumps and scrapes all over! I didn't know I could
swing a cat so well. -- Pericles

Serilia -- Sorcery! How could I possibly fight a sorceress with a blade of mist? I
demand a...no, wait, maybe I should pass on that.... -- The Corsican

White Worldbenger -- Yes, well, perhaps. I think I may go off and conquer the known
world as an alternative to continuing in the arena. It seems likely to be easier. --
The Corsican
P.S. Or, perhaps I will go off to conquer the known world AND fight in the arena.
Hmm, lot of good soldier material here, and there seems to be some kind of power
vacuum in Jhans....

This is in case my email didn't go through. Tantric is declaring for the Striker

St. Valentine's Day Massacre Update

We are pleased to announce that the kLk sponsored St. Valentine's Day Massacre
kill contest in DM 36 is off to a great start. We are also pleased to announce that
in addition to the 10 team rollups we are also able to offer the renaming of a dark
arena warrior as a prize to the manager with the most kills. The contest is only 2
turns old and is still wide open. There are currently 5 managers tied with one kill
each. Anything can still happen so hurry up and get into the arena.
On a personal note, no other alliances have entered the arena in force to
challenge the kLk dominance. We were expecting The Firm to put up a fight for their
supposed home arena. But, they were a no show. Guess they proved what they are
really made of. *evil grin*
Perhaps another alliance would like to step in to give us a challenge. We are
throwing down the gauntlet. Perhaps the Chaos Inc. boys I keep hearing about would
like to step in and challenge the kLk for arena dominance. If you don't show up,
Chaos, don't feel bad. FAR better managers than you have been invited into Jhans but
have chosen to pass on the offer.
So if you consider yourself worthy to compete, like fierce competition, and
enjoy arenas where the personals are as fierce as the fighting, come visit JHANS DM
36. We're already planning our next contest, "Capture the Flag," and have a
storyline being actively worked on in the arena. Whatever you like about DM you can
find it in JHANS.

Has anyone seen it in print that the "Goat" is leaving the "Cartel"? There were
some diplos to the effect of a special branch of the Cartel being formed, like secret
societies, governmental agencies and alliances certain agendas are developed. To
obtain the desired effect of any agenda only key personnel can be used. The "Goat"
is "Cartel" so until you see it with me announcing that I am not Cartel, remember,
"The Agenda of the Core is for you to fight for." I hope this stops the confusion.
