                                      SPY REPORT

Good day, friends and fiends, welcome to your friendly neighborhood spyreport.
I doubt KALTOS will ever be the same. And let's see, BUZZ KILL fought EMBEZZLING
SCRIBE and gained 16 points and contributed to HOOKED ON COFFEE's 1-0-0. PENDRU ROST
has lost to THE USEROUS MERCHANT, falling 4 points, while helping make THE MIDDLE WAY
5 a 3-2-0 turn. The attempts to dethrone the Duelmaster have failed, and HALIBUTT
remains KALTOS' top warrior for another turn. Can someone confirm a rumor for me? I
hear the top team makes their losing fighters do dishes at The Victory Tavern until
they win. Maybe?
He who challenges well, fights well. He who avoids without cause, shall lose
for good reasons. My mama told me that one.
A coward dies a thousand deaths, a brave man only once. Wise men know this to
be true. Is it really true that KALTOS has more dishwashers per capita that
fighters? Just thought I'd ask...
Remember, blood on the purple robe does not change it from a purple robe. Dare
to fight bravely. It's been nice chatting with you, until we meet again, keep your
swords sharp and your hammers heavy. Until the sun next rises and my pen sets to
paper-- Alarond the Scribe

We didn't get our turn, in fact, we're missing a whole week's worth of turns starting
with the day before this's stuff, so we're doing the personals from the e-newsletter.
You thought hijacking our turns would shut us up? As if! To prove it isn't enough,
we may have to be even more talkative. -- Jorja and the Middle Way

Halibutt -- You're a big old fish and no mistake. What, you think I can't tell,
because the fight report is missing? Listen, bub, I'm standing right here, and I can
SEE you. Besides which, we've seen you before and made note of your height. And
that you're a golem, as well. So, probably not halibutt, probably cod. At least,
that's MY guess. And, while it is true that "someone has to eat cod," it won't be
me, even if I *did* lose to you. -- Felissa Hurm
P.S. I thought four minutes was pretty good. I made you sweat (if golem fishes
sweat) for that win and title.

M. Chardinee? Well... I felt sorry for him, so I let him show his stuff for an extra
minute before taking him down? Whatever, it must have been a Good Deed and fun to
watch, since I got Overall Popularity Leader for it. Not that I could be a
popularity leader without the fight, being charsimatic, attractive, cool, sociable,
and trustworth in a reasonable degree. Which I am, because the Commission says so,
and would they lie? Of course not. -- Katirona Murh
P.S. And M. is a good guy. I like him. He took me out to dinner after the fight.
Can't fault somebody who hands out a free meal!

It's all well and good for Katirona to talk about what a "good guy" the Chardinee is.
He's okay, I guess. But what is NOT good is the Userous Merchant, and I am glad I
defeated him. I'd rather have devastated him than simply bested him, but I take what
I can get. Besides, I reckon the steward who rights the "last week's fights" owes
him money. So many people do. -- Pendru Rost

Kadasya -- Ho, a new face! In the absence of the fight report, I can't tell a thing
about you except that you lost, I'm sure gracefully. If you are an appropriate
person for me to invite out, take it that I've asked you to join me somewhere quiet
for a drink. Folie's Tea Room, maybe. Folie's a graduated teammate of mine, and not
as, um, flighty as her name suggests, although she IS a little strange. Size 5 and a
halberd favorite? Not that it affects the tea room, unless you try to leave without
paying. But I digress. Folie, as noted a graduated teammate, somehow got together
enough money or, ah, something, to start a tea room here on Kaltos, and it's a FINE
place. Truly. Muffins to live for! And the tea isn't bad. -- Irvina Korl

Dyllin -- Ah, another new face. This is good, we've been needing new faces here. If
I had to guess, Irvina's opponent could well be female--the name ending in "a." You,
I'm not sure. Could go either way. However you end up, I'm not taking you to the
Tea Room. It isn't that I dislike Folie, mind, who'd dare? That woman has an
amazing temper to go with her halberd. But I was thinking more along the lines of a
bar. How does Derbie's Place sound? I mention it specifically because it's run by a
graduated teammate of mine, Derbie Foyle--we have quite a few graduated teammates,
and they seem to have had a tendency to stay here, settle down, and go into the
business of feeding or at serving drinks to people. And because he's a teammate, I
have a little credit there. -- Kolver Moon

Arenamaster Troktai -- I want you to take note, from the two personals just before
this one, that there is nothing unusual or improvident in a graduated gladiator of
the Middle Way staying on Kaltos. Give me a little time to look around and I'll come
up with something good. -- Jammy Larke, staying on Kaltos

                                  LAST WEEK'S FIGHTS

RUG 164 was butchered by ARENAMASTER TROKTAI in a 1 minute Dark Arena fight.
RUG 163 was barely slain by SHEWISH GIANT in a 2 minute brutal Dark Arena duel.
HALIBUTT overcame KATIRONA MURH in a action packed 3 minute veteran's Title match.
FELISSA HURM bested CONVICTED ASSASSIN in a popular 1 minute fight.
PENDRU ROST was subdued by THE USEROUS MERCHANT in a 2 minute competition.
KADASYA was unbelievably bested by IRVINA KORL in a popular 2 minute bloody duel.

You once thought of me,
As a white knight on a steed.
Now you know how happy I can be...

It's true. I'm gone. I've punched my ticket to Immortality and I'm off to the Isle.
I know a lot of you are wondering what it is about me that has made me so successful.
I wish I knew for sure. I think it has more to do with intangibles (knack) than it
does with design, bonuses and favorites. I'll let you decide.

I know what you're thinking, "WTF, that guy looks like a 98 lb weakling!" Sigh...I
prefer to think my physical characteristics are ideally suited for a finesse style.
As for my bases, I know they aren't much to look at. After all, I am a PR. I'm
fortunate to be blessed where I need it the most--attack and parry.

Okay, so I've got nice bases with bonuses in the right spots. What about favorites?
Did I know them in advance or did I change them? The answer is no, I had no idea
what they were for sure until I recieved my graduation announcement. I would be
happy to tell you what my favorites are but I don't think my clone, Jumpinjack Flash,
would be very happy with me if I did. Let's just say that from the moment I stepped
on the sands as a Rookie I used the same strategy in EVERY fight. The only thing I
ever changed was armor (early on vs. TP's) and attack/defend locations. That should
give those of you who have faced me more than once something to think about.

You may be interested to know that I am all natural. I haven't had a prize of any
type used on me. I'm a freak of nature. It just goes to show you never know when a
guy like me will walk into your guildhouse looking for work as a gladiator. It's up
to you to spot the potential and nuture it along.

I'm going to list my tourney results and records versus each style. It isn't meant
to be a brag--I just thought you might find it interesting and a lot easier than
looking it up yourself. Enjoy!

As you can see, the only style I had trouble with is the ABs. I think that has more
to do with which ABs I fought rather than the style as a whole. I was 3-1 vs ABs
early on (Rookies-Champs) and 4-10 in Challengers. I was 1-5 vs Marv, 0-1 vs Marv Jr
and 0-3 vs Soulsnare. I am going to make an educated guess and assume they all had
skills or prizes added to them to make them competetive at the Challenger level where
so few ABs are. I could be wrong, though I doubt it.

See you on the Isle,
    Daydream Believer
