SPY REPORT
Good day, friends and fiends, welcome to your friendly neighborhood spyreport.
I doubt TRANSEL will ever be the same. Now keep the taverns open late tonight, for
there are sorrows to drown for SUPER HEROES, whose 0-0-0 this turn dropped them by 4
into 14th. HEME-JO CONDITION stable has parlayed this turn's 3-0-0 into a 4 space
move up the rankings. This brings them up to 9th place. Good work, guys! And let's
see, KAIARI fought SERENGETI and gained 12 points and contributed to SOUL STRIPPERS
II's 3-2-0. WARCHILD has lost to HAWK, falling 9 points, while helping make JETHRO'S
TOOLS a 2-3-0 turn. JOHN CHRICHTON challenged for the Duelmastership this turn,
attempting to dethrone BATTLE BEASTS' warrior. And all eyes were on JOHN CHRICHTON
this turn as he ascended to the throne of Duelmaster. TRANSEL has a new victor!
Tell me, is nothing sacred? I have heard from unimpeachable sources that The Victory
Tavern uses trolls in their stew. Talk about gristle!
He who challenges well, fights well. He who avoids without cause, shall lose
for good reasons. My mama told me that one. SCIENCE FICTION has cause to stand
tall, as they were TRANSEL's most avoided team. A smart manager knows this is a team
to beat. And avoiding SCIENCE FICTION more than any other team we find JETHRO'S
TOOLS. TRANSEL, are we going to accept, or respect this sort of thing? The most
challenged warrior this turn was JETHRO'S TOOLS' warrior FAT MAN. More fighters
challenged him than challenged the Duelmaster! Well now, what do you expect when
someone like SECOND OMEN from DARK PANTHEON challenges down 18 points to fight HAN
SOLO of SCIENCE FICTION? We're not surprised to hear that SECOND OMEN bested HAN
SOLO, but I bet it would be interesting to hear why DARK PANTHEON made such a
challenge. In a brave attempt, DOVE from WINGED LEGION challenged up 22 points to
fight CASEOPEIA from the SCIENCE FICTION stable. DOVE perhaps got hers just
desserts, seeing as she was beat by CASEOPEIA and ended up with 7 recognition points.
GRIZZLY ADAMS of BATTLE BEASTS had better have a good reason for challenging down 14
points in a challenge which he won. I thought GRIZZLY ADAMS showed great skill and
promise when he bested IVANMOE. All right, so I slept through it! Big deal!
We only live a short time in this world, so why not take a sharp blade, and
shave it close? Kudos go out to HENNECKE this turn, for revenging HEME-JO
CONDITION's bloodfeud against JETHRO'S TOOLS' warrior BLACK MAMBA. Well done. We'd
like to remind certain teams not to rob the graves of their enemies. You know who
you are; and it's considered rude.
Thought for the day, a new sword shines bright, but the notched sword sings the
sweetest. It's been nice chatting with you, until we meet again, keep your swords
sharp and your hammers heavy. Until the sun next rises and my pen sets to paper--
Alarond the Scribe

PERSONAL ADS
Ivanmoe -- Guess pushing up my strat numbers has its advantages. :) -- Vizzerdrix
Doc Steele -- Uhmm...as of last turn you are now Steele -- 3 , Shocking Toad -- 0.
Just helping keep track. ;) I have a feeling Winged Legion is about to get handed
some too.... You should really stop trying to scare these teams, Doc, as I like all
the new teams here. -- Sensei Jan
Medusa -- Thank your mate Serengeti for that down-challenge. -- Uncle Spanky
Doc Steele -- An ad ran immediately after my ads proposing to make this a powder puff
arena, right on the heels of my facetious comment regarding doing something like that
to get you playing here full-time. I was just making it clear that I did not write
the ad, I would be more subtle than that. -- Saucy Jack, yr. ob'd'nt 'umble mgr.,
Soul Strippers II
Viz -- My hat is off, well done. Though I have no idea how I could have gotten a
title fight, and was taken a bit unawares. -- Ivanmoe
Warchild -- I imagine it will take more than death to shut up a windbag of
Philosononymous' scale. -- Saucy Jack
Super Heroes -- No hard feelings, let's go get drunk at the Sultan's. -- Kaiari
Zot -- Well, the hi is good, anyhow. -- Jack
Jack Cacoon -- Quite kind of you, my lad. So when may I expect this event? --
Philosononymous' Ghost
Gryphon -- I love the smell of sand in the morning. -- Yasnac
Wow, our beautiful arena is blossoming and that's great to see. I look forward to
kicking all your arse's. I've not been here long, only 2 1/4 years but I am here to
stay. I have a fairly good arena. Angel shall leave us now and replaced with Theta
Macour, an ale for anyone that can tell me where that comes from. I look forward to
a wondrous future. -- Shocking Toad
Now we see Dark Pantheon 3, Science Fiction 0. Not an auspicious start; however, I
shall remain strong. So long as Battle Beasts are around to inflate my wins I'll
take Dark Pantheon to inflate my losses. My respect for Doc Steel may not find
equal. He reigns and I can only hope to learn from the scraps of knowledge he lets
fall by the wayside. -- Shocking Toad
Spongebob -- Wow, I didn't expect that. I saw the match up and chalked up a loss.
Who knew you couldn't withstand a Great Axe to the Jaw. Harrumph! -- John Chrichton
Dove -- Find peace elsewhere, lovely one! -- Cassie
I suck and I blow. Bye bye! -- Angel
I love the thong, Stirperella, but it seems to slow you down. -- Teal'c
Wally the Whacko or Wacky Wally or whatever--that's 2 BF losses. Shall we make it 3?
-- Shocking Toad
P.S. I appreciate your alliance, OFF the field. ;)
Saucy Jack -- Nice start on the bloodfeud, but I'm sure you'll forgive me if I don't
roll over and play dead for the next few turns. -- Warchild
Mitsurgi -- What was that about my being unable to beat you? I couldn't hear it over
your death rattle. -- Black Mamba
Heme-Jo Condition -- So who's going to handle your bloodfeuds now? She-Man actually
managed to avoid losing last turn, so I guess she (he? it?) is your best bet. That
must suck. -- Black Mamba
Doc Steele -- I'm not an experienced player, but I don't want a pass; you do what you
think is best for your team, and I'll do what I think is best for mine. As for me, I
have a different persona in each arena (or will, when I start another team or two),
but overall, I go by.... -- TigerTiger, manager of Jethro's Tools
Fat Man -- The best man won; you have my respect. -- Shamios Wildrock
Fat Man -- You have a large fanclub growing, so keep you helm on. -- Liam of East
Druid
Diane -- That was not fun. Hope to stay on your good side. (smiles) -- Barrtana
Haval
Jethro's Tools -- Tag, you're it. -- Twilight Shadow
Doc Steele -- Good to see you active again; love seeing you in action. -- Liam of
East Druid
Jan -- What ever happened to Blob? -- Shamias
Viz -- You have been an inspiration to me and my training; good to see a waste make
it big. -- Bartanna
Night Tran -- I'm ready (takes deep breath). I'm ready for my bloodfeud. -- Shemando
Jethro's Tools -- I will find a way to destroy you. -- Hamich, manager of Hemejo
Shocking Toad -- This turns score was 2-0 in my favor. The overall score is Doc
Steel 3, and Shocking Toad 0. -- Doc Steele
Philosononymous -- You are dead, and you are still talking. Go away already! --
Second Omen
Fat Man -- Don't judge yourself too harshly, Doc says I am an extraordinary warrior
and he says I get to run in Gateway if I can survive Transel. I'm not sure what all
that means, but it sounds pretty good. -- Second Omen
Seraphim -- I noticed your challenge as well, my friend. So little time, so many
lessons to teach. I just didn't want you to think it escaped my notice. Well done,
by the way, a solid challenge. -- Doc Steele
Sensei Jan -- I must say that I really should leave poor Shocking Toad alone and come
after you. You are costing me a $1.50 per turn with that top career team honor! I
think maybe I taught you a bit too well. When I am done with the lessons for these
new Transel managers, I'll be coming for that career award. You know there is no
avoiding a mentor, right? Don't get me wrong, I'm proud to see you up there, but I
prefer to run the arena myself. -- Doc Steele
19 August 2003
Citizens of Ghea (only the ignorant fail to note Lirith Kai is not in Alastari),
no new day is rising, but the sun is setting on just another beautiful evening.
While you were sleeping, an irksome rabble has entered the always fair Aruak City.
Of course they fought alongside our warriors, most not so treasured, as all
gladiators do. They drank with themselves, and slept with themselves. Whether they
had masks, who cares.
Warriors, don't be afraid. For years Aruak has been one of the safest cities in
Ghea, and that custom has been continually cultivated, and will continue to be by
those who have called it home for years and those who live, fight, and die by the
same ethics. There is no contest, nor has there ever needed to be one for many
years. A conflict of personalities has arisen, and the city has been 'invaded' by
pests.
Any rules that are annouced will be purely for the joy of the lemmings' own
little world. Those who are being targeted have no interest in participating except
to defend the integrity of an arena that is different from others. Whether you
choose to come to Aruak, do it for your own reasons, not theirs.
Competing in Aruak City has never been for the faint of heart or the weak willed.
Combat is combat, wherever you go. Blood will flow as always, and now many innocents
will be caught in the middle, but those who defend Aruak's traditions never target
those who bring respect of Aruaki customs with them to our home.
So ignore the private ranting announcement brought by the stuporous
Frothingsloshers. If you choose Aruak City, do not choose it for an unsanctioned and
bogus 'contest', choose it for the tradition. Choose it because Aruak is different.
