                                    TEAM SPOTLIGHT

Bartona stood in front of Hajj'als tomb; the pain of his loss still held her
heart. A small smile came to her face with the fond memories they had. Not far away
stood Shamias and Bree looking at Naressa's grave, the sorrow shared between them.
Liam sat atop a tombstone, his face a mask of gloom. Three corpses lay in front of
him, their bodies magically prepared for the dark transformation.
     "Are you sure about this?"
Liam turned to the voice. "Yes Abbas, it is time I finished this dark rite. I
can't always raise a demon or dark spirit to protect the gem."
Abbas wiped dirt off his arm. "I hate it when you're right."
A weary smile touched Liam's lips. "Good, get everyone ready to go and let me
finish my work."
Abbas picked up his shovel and walked over to Ardana.
Sweat covered Liam's face and hands as he completed the last of the incantations
to make the zombies. Liam stood up. "Come, we return to the guildhouse."
The nine of them walked towards the south gate. Abbas came beside Liam. "You
know this was kind of fun; maybe next time we can dig over there?"
Abbas pointed to the far north. "No my friend, those are the graves of friends,
what few we have in Transel. No, I don't think she would like us digging up her
dead."

                             Notes from the arena champ.

Ahhhh yesssss,

'Tis I, your Queen, returned to my rightful place. And with a kill no less...Science
Fiction, it seems that my compatriots have your number. There is blood on my sword
and I am proud to have it. John Chrichton, may you return from the grave at the next
Dead Tourney (as well as your compatriot Ezri Dax). Just do us all a favor and quit
writing those lousy novels. My record is obviously not stellar, but really what do
you expect when our Manager keeps running us on maintenance every time he has
deadlines at work? I am actually very well designed and am destined for Primus
(could you possibly doubt me?). Here are my statistics....

13-4-4-17-21-10-15

Not bad, eh? I have one more fight before I leave and would sorely have loved to
kick Vizzerdix's behind, but alas he's not around so I think I'll give the Dark Arena
a shot now that I'm immortal. I'll let the Druid take it from here....

You may rise,

Ashanti

Well, what to say...I've lost track of how many times my teams have held the top spot
in this arena of ours, but I can say without a doubt that killing warriors from other
teams on the turn that my warrior gets their invite has only happened twice. In this
case, it has happened twice to the same team--Science Fiction. Last time it was
Pegasus dispatching Ezri Dax, and now here is the lovely and voluptuous Ashanti
sticking it to Science Fiction again by killing John Chrichton before heading off to
the wonderful world of immortality. Shocking Toad, what can I say other than, "Stay
the hell away from my warriors in the champs class when the are about to graduate!"
They seem to enjoy leaving with a bang. I suppose you can come after Ashanti in
Darkholm the way you did in Talahya with Pegasus, but really, that's not nearly as
fun or satisfying as a good old slew of bloodfeud retaliations, is it? However, I
totally expect it and welcome the onslaught. You're also welcome to come after me
here, but I warn you, the remaining warriors (especially Razor Hawk) have a nasty
streak too. As for the rest of this arena, glad to see its growth, particularly the
return of Night Train.

Peace out,

The Druid

                                      SPY REPORT

Hail and well met warriors of TRANSEL! Know me for who I am, Zontani Sharp
Eyes, Spymaster extraordinaire of all Alastari. Fortune did not smile upon SCIENCE
FICTION this time out who this turn suffered a fall into 8th position in the wake of
a 1-4-0 round. Warriors--remember that glory waits always around the corner!
Witness how this week HEME-JO CONDITION went 3-0-0 to move up 4 in the rankings. My
praise to JETHRO'S TOOLS for their 4-1-0 week this time out. Indeed, it was a
skillfully fought round deserving of notice! FAT MAN caught the eye of many in the
gladiatorial commission as he skillfully bested PLAINSMAN and was awarded 21 points
in recognition. In one of the week's more notable duels, HENNECKE put down TEAL'C,
causing him to lose 12 points of recognition in the process. The city has turned out
in honor of DELAPP, for with hers arena victory she may now lay claim to the highest
position in the city! Informants "close" to the city champion have told me that he
never fights without pantyhose on beneath his armor. Watch out!
Many and various are the arts of battle. In TRANSEL "art" is a word that has
long since passed from the language! I saw one fighter that warriors avoided when
this week's challenge seeking began. BATTLE BEASTS is feared. This much I can say.
If you didn't look down dark alleys you'd have been hard pressed to find any of
JETHRO'S TOOLS last week. Busy avoiding BATTLE BEASTS? Loose talk at the arena has
reached my ears and it but confirms the knowledge that many fighters are after
BARRTANA HAVAL. Watch your back! I cannot but express pride for the fearlessness of
HAN SOLO who cast caution to the winds and challenged SECOND OMEN, a fighter 27
points higher. Do not the gods reward courage? HAN SOLO it was that claimed victory
in the bout, while also rising 27 points in recognition. As a gladiator gets older,
the icy grip of fear lays hold of hers heart. True, CASEOPEIA? Who could miss your
"brave" challenge of BIG SLICK? The Fates are not kind to the cowardly, as evidenced
by the fact that CASEOPEIA was overcame by BIG SLICK. And who can now doubt that BIG
SLICK is a hardy opponent? I can not but mention with disdain the name of WIND-UP
who this week posted a challenge to a warrior a full 13 points below in the rankings.
I thought WIND-UP showed great skill and promise when he beat ABBAS ASH'SHAM. All
right, so I slept through it! Big deal!
Vendettas. Bloodied blades and broken spears. Indeed the city has seen more
than its fair share of red in recent times. Dark alleys may hide both secrets and
assassins. In the arena there is only the brightness of steel. Keep vigil always!
If it were not for my skills as a spy I would have been mugged three times
already in TRANSEL. Nice atmosphere you have here! Sadly warriors, now longer can I
keep thy company nor savor the ale of thy fine city. Depart I must and soon! Till
next we meet remember: a fool flies into a rage quickly and often. The wise are
angered by the same thing only once. Zontani Sharp Eyes

Doc Steele -- Well, I'm on the board against you, at least. I suppose that means you
owe me two more losses...or does the payback rate go up because I won this round?
Regardless, I look forward to facing off with you for a long time to come. --
TigerTiger

Kaiari -- Looks like my training came just a bit too late. That's what I get for
being ambitious, I suppose. Nicely done. -- Fat Man

Ivanmoe -- Well, THAT was unexpected. But I'll take it. -- Warchild

Shocking Toad -- Wow. Another one bites the dust. First Ezra Dax and now John.
What's up? -- Sensei Jan

Mechanizers -- You're an ancient team, aren't you? Dang, a number 16. That 's the
oldest team I've ever seen here. Are your fighters rusty? You have a very sweet
career record. -- Sensei Jan and Battle Beasts

Pigeon -- You are very, very fast. What hit me? -- Medusa

Night Train -- That's 2 for me, 0 for you. I'm afraid I'm pulling a Doc Steele on
ya. -- Battle Beasts

Fat Man -- Nice fight. Thanks for the gift and the scare. -- Bartana

Green Machine -- You should have won that one. I guess Demnat still likes me. --
Shamias

Wind-up -- That was fun; next time I'll bring a can opener. (smile) -- Bree

Jack Cacoon -- Congratulations on your first win. -- Liam the Necromancer

Saucy Jack -- I have two friends on their way to Transel. Both are new managers.
Any ideas for them? -- Laim

Jan -- Same question. -- Liam

Teal'c -- That took a lot of courage. May you die at the hands of one of my
warriors. -- BPR

Medusa -- You too. -- BPR

Jan -- Yeah, I know. No reason for you to gloat, yet. May you get Lichen Planus on
your nether regions. -- BPR

An Announcement Concerning the Brotherhood of the Blade Alliance:
I have chosen to withdraw my membership from the Brotherhood of the Blade
alliance. The years I have spent in the alliance have been the best of my DM career.
I leave the alliance with many great friends and will always remain close to my
former brethren.
The Brotherhood of the Blade will not skip a beat without my membership. It
remains in very capable hands and its roster is among the strongest in the game.
With the return on some of its founding members to DM, I know the BOB will continue
to grow in strength and prestige in the years to come. -- The Sandman
