DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
Notes from the arena champ.
People tell me that repeated encounters with John Huston are an effect of Small
Arena Syndrome. They're deluding themselves. Either Huston, or the arena
handicapper, or BOTH are out to GET my whole team, and especially ME. I'm not going
to take that kind of thing quietly!
Not-A-Nut Jones
SPY REPORT
If you were disturbed from your beauty rest only to have to watch a bunch of
TRANSEL brutes like you, you'd be grouchy, too. Of course, we're all terribly
impressed to see FOLIAGE win a fight and gain 17 points, terribly. Tsk, tsk, FOLIAGE
beat AUSTIN NORDELL and AUSTIN NORDELL lost 3 points. You're breakin' my heart. And
if variety is the spice of life, TRANSEL may be getting bland, as NOT-A-NUT JONES
stays top dog in the city. I'm not in a very good mood today, but why am I telling
you this? You want to know what's new, don't you, TRANSEL?
Well, let's take a look at some more misdeeds of you miserable sword-boys.
TRANSEL, I am losing what little hope I had in you. PSYCHO SQUAD the most avoided
team? What insult will suffice, I cannot say. And who led the way in this mass act
of cowardice? Let's see, well, whatcha know? It was BALTO. Ha ha ha ha! Ooh, I'm
frightfully impressed, AUSTIN NORDELL was this turn's most challenged warrior. Watch
that ego swell, sports fans.
Ah, now we come to my favorite part, where we see all the guys who are dead and
gone, and get to see if their team cared. We're all going to die in the end, so why
worry if the fate catches up with you sooner that later?
There's got to be a better place in TRANSEL to get a drink than The Sultan's
Tent! Any suggestions? Phlllt! Just had to do that before I leave the fine city of
TRANSEL. I feel much better now. Paste this one in your scrapbooks, you'll need the
kindling come this winter-- Snide Clemens

Please note that all new teams created at the Face-to-Face were temporarily placed in
a temporary Tournament Arena, DM 85. If you requested that your team be placed in a

WINTER FACE-TO-FACE IN SUNNY ARIZONA!
Our next winter FTF will be held in Tempe, Arizona, January 14-16, 2011. It will be
held at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Tempe, Arizona (480-894-7444), the same hotel as
last year by popular request. Room rates are $129.00 per night, 1-2 occupancy, which
includes full cooked breakfast, complimentary manager's reception (yes, really!), free
airport shuttle, free parking and free high speed internet. There's a fitness center,
jacuzzi, and pool. The rooms are blocked--please make your reservation by December 22
before the block is released! (This is prime season for Phoenix, and people have been
unable to book rooms because they waited too long.) Look for the tournament info
sheet and minioverviews some time in December. We hope you're all looking forward to
it and that we will see you there!
