Happy Harriet slammed a pan down on the table, ignoring the splatters of stew
and the pained exclamations of her teammates as the hot liquid splashed them. "Okay,
you guys, enough is TOO MUCH! I don't want to see any more of it!"
"Any more of what?" Not-a-Nut Jones asked cautiously. As a graduate and
officially immortal, he figured he could risk the question more than the rest of the
team. When Harriet was unhappy, as she clearly was now, she had no concept of the
courtesy that might reasonably be expected by her teammates, such as them not getting
killed by her.
"As if you didn't know! It was probably YOUR FAULT--"
"Probably it was," Jones agreed. "But WHAT?"
"We're Top Team AGAIN!"
"Ah. NOT my fault, I lost."
"It's got to be SOMEBODY's fault, dammit!"
"Yours, perhaps?" Chas Cringer suggested, grinning. "You are the one who
remains duelmaster by beating up John Huston."
"It's his fault, surely?" Faintly Frannie whispered. "Dear John's, you know.
He keeps losing to her."
Harriet's eyes blazed. "You're right! It's that stupid DIRECTOR. I know what
to do to HIM. An alley... yeah, somewhere the arenamaster won't get in the way...."

Notes from the arena champ.
So! John Huston AGAIN! If the Arenamaster hadn't STOPPED me, I would have
killed him, and that would have made me VERY HAPPY.
I'm not so happy now, but at least I won. And I might get another chance to
kill him. Sometimes the luck turns my way.

SPY REPORT
Like the magnificent Sun, rising upon the Dawn and exiling the Night for a Day,
I, Novgorodny Vir, return once again! The boys at PSYCHO SQUAD left the arena
dejected, after being kicked out of the top spot by REIGN. Good show! Say what you
will about blind luck and dirty fighting, but TACKLE BOX will tell you 157-142-8 is
nothing to laugh at... Win some, lose some. Speaking of which, STUMP JUMPER was
winsome, after beating JOHN HUSTON and seeing him lose 10 points. Now I can't insult
CAMDEN, as he has gloriously dueled to the top. Oh great new Duelmaster!!! (Stop me
if I lay it on too thick) Word has it one team in TRANSEL is taking speech lessons to
try to bore their opponent to death. I'll bet it works.
A Zenmaster once told me, 'Does not the spinning wheel turn? And do not the
little birds cry out?' Any ideas? Like the noble eagle soaring amongst the
mountaintops, so stand the warriors of REIGN, alone and unchallenged. The warriors
of REIGN found their efforts at combat frustrated as BALTO apparently had more
important things to do than fight. Is it charming personality? Conversational
abilities? Good oral hygiene? Whatever it is, AUSTIN NORDELL is the most challenged
warrior. AUSTIN NORDELL found himself challenged by a warrior 18 below: ODD. ODD
of BALTO kept his wits as he overcame AUSTIN NORDELL.
Ah, the duel! The roar of the oppenent, the smell of the crowd! Oh hard! that
to strike a flame, the match itself must needs be wasting!
