99 Bottles Contest Standings -- Turn 14
Greetings once again managers and warriors; I am back! Regardless of what
brother Ichabod had said, I was not flaking off on some "leave of absence" as he
suggested. I was hard at work, friends and lovers, toiling no less than 50 hours a
week over the last month or so attempting to clean up the Syndicate's off coast
gambling endeavors. There was simply no time for me to check into Bonsur and take
care of my normal duties here. My thanks go out to Ichabod for holding down the fort
for me, but I would thank you very much for getting your story straight next time!
Trying to "explain" things to Nunzio isn't always so easy.
Back to the Contest. Well, well, well! It sure appears as if Postmaster has
been taking quite a nose-dive as of late, with his worst performance coming last
turn. He managed to score a mere one bottle in a bloodfeud win for Lebeau over
Fountainhead. Postmaster's one-time lead of 17 bottles has now been cut down to
eight. In what seemed like a rather bizarre move for our contest leader, he
bloodfeuded Bullshot with the lowly 0-1 Mama Bear! The oddsmakers had a field day
with this one, putting Mama as a 99-1 underdog in the fight. The bookies held their
breath as Mama actually got the jump and scored two quick hits, almost ending the
fight right there! But Bullshot managed to regroup, dodging and riposting the next
attack, and that was that. Despite almost winning, you would think that Postmaster
with his rather precarious lead would be going for some easier wins, but we all have
our own strategies, I suppose.
Manager cut deeply into Postmaster's lead by scoring six bottles with a perfect
5-0-1 turn. Capturing six bottles is quite an accomplishment without having a single
stylemaster to help with the score. A six bottle turn was also scored by our own
Otto Frothingslosh, and five bottles outings were turned in by Ichabod, Alfredo, and
Ebenezer. So all the managers on Postmaster's tail put together very good
performances. If things continue the way they have been going, Postmaster might not
even finish in the top three.
Okay that's it for me this turn. Things are certainly heating up in the contest
with several managers now proving that they have a shot to win. Stay tuned!

Notes from the arena champ.
*hick* Well helloooo all youz warriors 'n warriorettes. Lookee here it's
little ol' me Malt Licker now the top dog head honcho big banana here in this toughee
of an arena that we allz call Bonsur. I would like to say that Tenacious put up a
helluva fight and he's one tough cookie of a warrior and all of that sheeeee-itk but
I'z don't like to lie cuz my momma done brought me up right so'z I can't say anything
like that cuz he jus pretty much sucked wind in the fight against me. An' that's the
truth. He's supposed to be one of them there total parry guys that jus' stand around
and parry and parry and parry until you gets so bored that you can't stand it
anymore, but that's not what he did at all no-sir-ee-bub. He got out there and swung
at me first if you'z can believe that! Heck I couldn't believe it either myself, but
I just decided to play the total parry roll myself for a few swings whilez he made
his less than adequate attempts at hitting me I'll tell you what. *hick* But I
didn't just stand around and parry and parry and parry I just swung right back an' he
couldn't hit me but I sure as heck hit him a time or three. Whammo Blam blooo-eee.
I cut him down like the big leathery tree that he is I'll tell you what. I dunno how
that guy ever got to be 32-8 and I sure don't know why he thought he was going to
that advanced place after fighting last turn but that sure didn't happen. I just
made sure to give him his ninth and well deserved loss and I'll be making sure that
his losses go into double digits here real quick like I'll tell you what.
This contest thingee seems to really be heating up an' my boss Alfredo is like
real happy with me now alluva sudden since I became the Duelmaster dude. He tole me
that I'z earning three bottles of beer a turn for sitting here on the Duelmaster's
throne and that there's a really good thing he tole me. Heck I don't see the big
deal seeing as I can go through 12 or 14 bottles in a single sittin' without even
putting' up a sweat, but apparently these are special like bottles that are not for
drunkin' but are just for winnin' the contest. I don't know what good a bottle of
beer is that you can't drink, but he's the boss and I jus do what he say. It's okee-
dokee with me cuz ever since I got up here he's been treatin' me real good like.
Things sure have changed for me from back when I wuz 8-8 and he was hollorin' and
carryin' on 'bout how he would have sent me to the Dark Arena long ago if it wasn't
for this darn contest. He tole me I'd better get my act together real quick if I
wanted to keep my job and keep breathin' for that matter! Well since then I've gone
5-1 an' my only loss iz to that Melissa chick that was a real tough broad but I
almost beat her to the punch too I'll tell you what! Our weapons were a clashin' and
a sparkin' and makin' all sorts a twangin' kinds a noises before she finally did get
to swing at me. I bet I woulda won that one too if I had gotten a little lucky an'
gots to go first I tell you what. But anyhoo the boss didn't seem too upset with me
after that one since I was the stylemaster parry-strike dude anyway and he didn't
expect me to win that fight nohow.
Well if I stays up here a turn or two more I guess I'll be goin' on to that
advanced place myself, which in my case means retirement and lotsa babes and lotsa
beer an' no more worryin' 'bout death and bloodstains on my ringmail. Sure sounds
good to me I'll tell you what! When and if I happen to make it I'll let you all in
on my vital statistics. They iz not too excitin' but from what I understand about
duelin' they iz purty good nonetheless. One thing I will tell you allz now isa that
I wasn't really "blessed" that much to start, only 3 extra skills in init and one
extra skill in attack an' that wuz purty much it. Like I said nuthin' all that
special but good enough to be lookin' down on all of you I tell you what!

Oh, hi. Its just little 'ol Debby Tonte. Thought I'd check out BONSUR to see
what's new. DOUBLE ORDEALERS had like a really albendranius week! Those hunks got a
4-1-1 and wound up as 10th team! Uncool, WINTER ORCHARD. I mean 1-3-0 is bad. Will
they will be allowed to fight? I say use 'em for training practice! Cut this out
and put it in your scrapbooks, FLOWER CHILDREN! 'Cause they got 4-1-0 and moved up
to 3rd! MVP award for BAYUSHI KACHIKO? CALL TO THUNDER's proud of her after beating
GAMBLE and getting 22 points. Talk about yer big time losers! GAMBLE got smashed by
BAYUSHI KACHIKO, and lost 17 points! POPCORN MACHINE thinks its 13-7-0 and studly
character is good enough to face up to the Duelmaster. Any bets? Was that a tear I
saw in POPCORN MACHINE's eye, as it took over Duelmastership? And wasn't MALT LICKER
fit to be tied! Who was the wiseguy that said BONSUR's Duelmaster was paying for
drinks at The Swinging Aardvark? Don't look at me!
AAARRGH!!! I HATE SPYREPORTING!!! Sorry. I just had to say it. DEAD SUPERIOR
FORCES was the most avoided team. Is a 49-29-3 record really that scary? Hhmph!
What kind of warriors are SPARE-A-DIME SHIFT? DEAD SUPERIOR FORCES, an easy team to
beat if I ever saw one, can't get them to accept an invitation! Can MORGAN'S BOYS'
BUBBA be more popular than me? He was challenged the most, but is that really the
same? I'm not so sure HIDA YAKAMO knew all the facts when he challenged PREACHER of
THRILLZ & KILLZ. I saw HIDA YAKAMO stumbling and dribbling at The Swinging Aardvark
last week... HIDA YAKAMO was so studly out there in the sands! Beating PREACHER and
getting 17 points. CALL TO THUNDER must be proud, for sure! Ooh! Did WILL DUEL FOR
FOOD really know what he was doing when he TV challenged TENACIOUS? A 14-7-0 speaks
volumes. (Zontoni said that. I don't know what it means.) Do you think WILL DUEL
FOR FOOD knew something before he challenged TENACIOUS? He got a win and 39 points.
What will the guy do next? Some fights are really unfair. How do you think
GOLDILOCKS feels about being challenged by ISHINOMORI, 21 points above her?
ISHINOMORI beat GOLDILOCKS. No surprise about that. Really I'm not surprised
ISHINOMORI would do such a scummy thing, either. See if I ever talk to ISAWA TADAKA
again! MIAMI MIA was so low when He challenged he. Hhmph! I was sorry to see such
an unfair "fight" in BONSUR. ISAWA TADAKA got 9 points after beating MIAMI MIA, 23
points below him. Speaking of challenging 29 points above did you hear about TWO
HEADED WOMEN of HATE vs. THRILLZ & KILLZ's ALISS? (And how was that intro!) TWO
HEADED WOMEN lost to ALISS, but he got 1 points. ALISS won, and got 3 points. I
don't get it.
Challenges, revenges, Bloodfeuds. All BONSUR ever talks about is fighting! Me,
I'm more laid back. Hey! Quit laughing! Just because WARHOL had 16-15-0 was no
reason for UNDEAD ARTISTS to send him to the Dark Arena! Stop it! How cruel!
UNDEAD ARTISTS heartlessly sent his to CEZANNE certain fate in the Dark Arena. Is a
5-10-0 bad or something? Hey you guys, don't you think your families would like to
hear from you? Write! (Or have someone write for you.)
I really didn't, you know, study when I was a kid. Who would've guessed I'd be
a famous Spyreporter? I know how much you like reading this stuff, but I really

started in Monuntial (DM 34) back in '92. They were active for seven months. I have

A note to everyone regarding manager names and manager lists -- If you're running a
team incognito, all you have to do is let me know and I won't put your name on any
manager lists. It has seemed though, that more people want their names listed, even
if they do not announce themselves, than the other way around. Also, I do maintain
the list more or less by hand and errors do creep in. You have but to say I've made
