Notes from the arena champ.
It is a sad day in the Sentinels Guildhouse. I think I even heard Nomad mutter
something about, "leave this stupid town behind," after the death of Hieronymus. He
was not just a fan favorite, but a favorite for the entire Guild. Hopefully he will
do well this fall in the tourney of the dead. I am tempted to yell at the
footballers for dropping in out of nowhere to kill a veteran, but their team kill
total implies that it probably wasn't deliberate. But it still stinks.
The death also puts a damper on my claiming the throne. It seems fitting that
Molly left this city with one last fight with yours truly. I think we fought over 10
times while she was here. A good fighter, worthy of her new title. But who to
challenge now? Probably I should go after the bloodfeud--in fact I will. There are
two problems with this:
1. You never know if the Footballers will fight, and
2. The last thing I want is to give Bartez a shot at the throne should I lose.
But I guess this is the shot at honor I must take. Of course, a third factor
could be the style disadvantage I think I will be at. Oh well, I guess we will see.
I intend to do my best.
Ladies--please have some smash ready, I think there is a group of Sentinels who
need to clear their minds for a while. Let the games continue!

SPY REPORT
Hail and well met warriors of BONSUR! Know me for who I am, Zontani Sharp Eyes,
Spymaster extraordinaire of all Alastari. Did only my eyes note the 3-1-0 record
which AMEN! managed to post this round? I don't doubt that such a record will draw
challengers! THE PREACHER caught the eye of many in the gladiatorial commission as
he skillfully bested LITTLE VENUS and was awarded 21 points in recognition. In one
of the week's more notable duels, ROSE O' THE REEF put down SISTER SINISTER, causing
her to lose 7 points of recognition in the process. Unwilling to wait upon the will
of others, Duelmaster EPEE MYSTIQUE Bloodfeuded BARTEZ last week in a match to decide
the fate of the throne. Although BARTEZ made a valiant effort, it did not suffice to
topple the reign of victorious EPEE MYSTIQUE. Heed this! A seer has warned that if
exactly 6 die in duels this week, the whole city shall perish! Just remember...5 or
7!
But come now, let us look deeper into the maze of contention and crossed blades
that is city BONSUR. I saw one fighter that warriors avoided when this week's
challenge seeking began. CHURCH LADIES is feared. This much I can say. Methinks
more than a few here could name the guild it was that spent the better part of last
week avoiding CHURCH LADIES. Indeed it was IMPORTED FOOTBALLERS. Mighty fighters
cannot but expect competition from those below. PALMETTA PATTY take warning! You
have more than a few enemies in BONSUR.
Is not Death a warrior's foremost adviser? Warriors, may this counselor stand
ready at your right hand forever! BARTEZ must hold silent, for this week he was
humbled in the arena by a successful Bloodfeud won by EPEE MYSTIQUE of SENTINELS.
Hail EPEE MYSTIQUE for thy victory! Fate is a fickle mistress. She showers the
miserable with fortune but sets enemies against the victorious. Remember this!
