Notes from the arena champ.
Greetings, proud managers of Arkers! I'm surprised to be representing our
arena. Sensei Jan has only previously run two other fighters (both unsuccessful) of
my particular style. My ascension has not been an easy one. I've fought top notch
fighters, of nearly every style. I've slipped past the parries of scum, out-jumped
strikers, and have laid waste to waste. The warriors who are in challenging range
are no joke, they are all skilled and tough.
Tom Sawyer -- I have no wish to meet you, though I will fight to my utmost if it
happens. Your style combined with your fine record gives me great pause.
Aujard -- You I wish to fight. You are a hearty warrior, no doubt. And you
have delivered many losses to my other team members (though I seem to remember a
certain ripper of mine who dealt with you...). So with you, it is personal.
Helen -- My mouth waters in anticipation of a meeting with you. We share so
much, sister. The same style, nearly the same record...however, I refuse to fight
Kung-Fu Master, whom you adore. You are, however, unlike Aujard, an unknown to me.
We shall see, sister....
Mongoose -- You are second after Tom of those I would rather not fight. While
your record is not grand, you pack much experience and unpredictability.
Sasha -- For the love of all things Holy, I pray we do not meet on a matchup.
You are an alliance mate, and a formidable opponent.
I pay nothing but respect to the challengers I might face this turn. May our
blood on the sand bring much tribute to Arkers. -- Inochi
SPY REPORT
Hail ARKERS! Warriors of the arena, prepare to be praised and blamed for your
deeds. It seems the training can make the difference, as SMITHSONIAN is pushed out
of top team by YAKUZA, who came from 3rd with a 4-1-1 this turn. Now keep the
taverns open late tonight, for there are sorrows to drown for LA PENTARCHIE, whose
0-5-0 this turn dropped them by 4 into 6th. ORCISH IDIOMS stable has parlayed this
turn's 5-0-0 into a 5 space move up the rankings. This brings them up to 4th place.
Good work, guys! The X-FORCE guild has had a 5-0-2 turn and deserves to be watched
in the future. You never know where this kind of thing can lead. And let's see,
SUNFIRE fought V.BALTIMORE-'W.BALT and gained 19 points and contributed to X-FORCE's
5-0-2. AUJARD has lost to TIEN, falling 21 points, while helping make LA PENTARCHIE
a 0-5-0 turn. And all eyes were on TOM SAWYER this turn as he ascended to the throne
of Duelmaster. ARKERS has a new victor! Tell me, is nothing sacred? I have heard
from unimpeachable sources that The Warty Toad uses trolls in their stew. Talk about
gristle!
The crowd's roar, the smell of iron and leather, mixed with sweat, what more
could a warrior ask of life? Well, besides that. ENTENTER has cause to stand tall,
as they were ARKERS' most avoided team. A smart manager knows this is a team to
beat. And avoiding ENTENTER more than any other team we find YAKUZA. ARKERS, are we
going to accept, or respect this sort of thing? Well, sports fans, take notice that
ALAIN DRAGOON from LA PENTARCHIE was ARKERS' most challenged warrior this turn.
A coward dies a thousand deaths, a brave man only once. Wise men know this to
be true. The manager of CHAMPIONS OF STEEL will not be pleased to learn that SAINT
SEIYA, a 4-2-0 fighter, has been killed at the hands of X-FORCE's ATLAS. Banners at
half mast, warriors, ENTENTER has lost S. G., and you might say all of ARKERS has
felt the loss, except maybe X-FORCE. ASSASSIN NATION has lost GRUESOME to the arena
in the sky, but they don't seem to be worried. What do you expect from 4-5-0? A
brave warrior does not carry a red shield, he has nothing to cover or hide when the
fight is over. Consider well.
I like this place, ARKERS, the taverns have old wine, and young serving girls.
Who could ask for more? Always good to rest in ARKERS, but never good to wear out my
