TEAM SPOTLIGHT
"Send us back, you fat slug!" shouted Curly Bill.
Gunsmith laughed. "If I could send you back don't you think I would have been
home years ago?"
"You brought us here, you figure it out," mumbled Black Bart.
"Yeah, Jack is dead because of you! You sent him to his death!" yelled John
Hardin.
"You think I brought you here?" Gunsmith said laughing so hard he broke into a
coughing fit the other men thought would kill him, and they didn't seem to think it
would be a bad thing if it did. "I no more brought you here than anyone brought me
here. Fate or God brought you here same as me, which ever you choose to believe. As
for Jack, he didn't earn his keep. Would any of you pay for his room and board out of
your own pockets?"
"But you had him killed! Who are you to decide that?!!" cried John.
"He is the one with the money and knowledge, and since when have you been worried
about others, John? Maybe you're worried you are next," laughed Johnny Ringo.
Hardin's face grew red and his hand went to his hip but before he could pull,
Ringo's Colt was pointing at his head.
"Put those things away!" growled Gunsmith. "It's not like we can just go buy
bullets, we can't afford you wasting them on each other. And what would these
backwards people think, probably burn us as Devil worshipers."
Ringo laughed and holstered his weapon.
"So you siding with him, huh Johnny? What about being a cowboy and sticking
together?" said Curly Bill.
"You can figure out what or who brought you here Curly, I KNOW why I am here. I
made my deal years ago, and now I'm gonna do what I gotta do for me. Hell, as far as
I know, Gunsmith is the one I made the deal with. I suggest you make a decision. Are
you with me or against me?" said Ringo.
Curly shook his head and smiled. "Brothers to the end," he said.
John Hardin lowered his head and said, "God forgive me, I'm in."
Ringo whispered, "It's too late for forgiveness."
"Well, I guess we are decided here and ready to get down to business. Except for
one. What you say, Mr. Quiet?" said Gunsmith.
Texas Red smiled and said, "I like it here."
SPY REPORT
So why do I have this bag over my head? Because I am The Unknown Spymaster and
I'm going to give you a spy report!. Rising in the ranks like a loaf of armored
bread (okay, I admit it's corny) is NORTHERN BADLANDS, who swept up 13 places in the
ranks. Suffering under a 0-4-0 record and dropping from 4th to 15th place were the
BORN LOSERS. Keep trying! It looks like the guys(?) at HOYT FOUNDATION had a good
week as they went 4-1-0 to put them in 4th place. I guess steroids help! Hey
everybody, watch out for ARIXIA, who flew up 21 points in the rankings after mashing
OUT OF SOAP like a melon. Keep your eye on this gal. And falling like a basher in
the top ten was OUT OF SOAP, who dropped 18 points after a disappointing (to say the
least) bout with ARIXIA. Drawing on all of its experience as a 13-4-0 warrior, LUCKY
STRIKES went for the Duelmastership against CUTTER CRITES this week. It's a proud
day for the SMITHSONIAN stable, as their warrior, LUCKY STRIKES, ascended the
Duelmaster's throne. Can you believe they are paying me 10 gold to deliver this
stuff?
Let's dig a little deeper into what's happening in the ARKERS arena. Did you
hear that WEIRD ALCHEMY was most avoided team this week? Well, knowing the personal
hygiene of WEIRD ALCHEMY's warriors, I'm not surprised! And you guys like to boo me?
Well, unsling your rasberries, cause THE CHOSEN beats feet every time WEIRD ALCHEMY
smiles at them. Try farming, eh? Well dang howdy, but if challenges were votes,
HUMBLE LEE would be president. Although it may be a contest she doesn't want to win.
Getting lots of flowers from sympathetic fans was THE SHRIEKER, who was successfully
challenged by YRAH BANEWRECKER who had a mere 30 points more than THE SHRIEKER.
Definition of petty: YRAH BANEWRECKER subdued THE SHRIEKER, a mismatch of 30 points.
Can any one out there say 'weasel'? Oh well, just saying DOOM GROOVER will do. He
challenged 16 points down to trash KORSEN. Definition of petty: DOOM GROOVER bested
KORSEN, a mismatch of 16 points. In a touching display by a 'touched' warrior, GRIMM
went after ZOO, who was higher by 22 points. Well, when the dust settled, GRIMM lost
to ZOO.
Death is kind of like a new puppy: he's always around wanting to play. (Ha
Zontani, how's that for a wise saying?). I have no doubt that THE CHOSEN will be
celebrating long and loud their warrior SEHWYN STEEL's slaying of GUNTHER on the
sands. Remember: alliances are great, but try and take your ally in the arena with
you and see what happens.
I think I had better cut this one short. It's been nice chatting to those of
