Notes from the arena champ.
Ohhhhh. Dat was a bad duelin' masta kolumn last turn. I fink I had too much brandy.
Plus, wun uv da goblins brought me some green leafy tobacco dey bought from a trad'n
town. At furst, I felt nice an' mellow. An' den I blacked out. When I kame ta, I was
lay'n face down on ma desk an' I was incredibly hungry. I hope dis works betta.
Well, Maud iz gone. She seemed at peace wit' 'da decision ta send 'er ta 'da dark
arena. But she was livid when she saw 'er opponent was an elf. Killed by an elf. Hur
hur hur.
I guess certain ol warriors have ta actually learn how ta fight instead uv challeng'n
'da same warrior ova an' ova ta build political points. Yer younga warriors should
bash his brains 'n. It will be easia for yer since yer kan actually fight. Go on now.

SPY REPORT
Much has changed in ARKERS since last I was here. Never fear, Olaf Modeen
adapts to many situations, as do all successful fighters. Biff! Pow! ARKERS
watched with glee as GIT'EM SICK got knocked off top spot by SMITHSONIAN! Hmmmph! I
always thought GIT'EM SICK was an over-rated team and they proved it with a 0-5-0!
Up 'n down. Up 'n down. Rankings always change. Up 'n down. I think I'm gonna
be... Well, BLOODY HAND CLAN's 3rd moved them up to 4-1-1 place. Some people say I
ramble too much, I don't say anything relevant. I repeat myself. I ramble. Well
SMITHSONIAN moved up 1, to 1st. What's with JHERI BLOOMERS? It actually beat THE
CHOSEN's EIGER THE HARDY, and walked away with 20 more points from the fight. Laughs
were big at SMITHSONIAN while they watched BUNKER HILL clobber PYNK-EYE. She lost 11
points and got bruised from objects thrown from the stands. Try as he might, PILGRIM
wasn't good enough at persuading GUTSAG BAKWORT to step down from the Duelmaster's
throne... Wouldn't it be nice to have live subjects to practice on? I hear some
team is looking into the uses of convicted prisoners.
If at first you don't succeed, avoid. That'll get you in the Spyreports. The
most avoided team was HOYT FOUNDATION. The bums at Z GLADIATORZ couldn't face the
challenges from HOYT FOUNDATION! No excuse for that! How well I know the feeling of
being the most challenged warrior, 'ACKY GIT! Don't make idle boasts, they may come
back to haunt you. Keep challenging up 37 points, UGARG SNOTSNIK, and I won't have
to write about you much longer. GROUND SHEET always accepts those kind of
challenges... UGARG SNOTSNIK did pretty good last week in beating GROUND SHEET to
get 22 points. Why did GROUND SHEET lose, you ask? Simple: she wasn't good enough.
THE BEGGAR of HOYT FOUNDATION knows how to pick 'em. He challenged GOLD RUSH of
SMITHSONIAN who is up by 18. Now was this a wise move? THE BEGGAR perhaps got his
just desserts, seeing as he was beat by GOLD RUSH and ended up with 90 recognition
points. I hate going to the effort of writing about the kind of fights that WILY GIT
gets in. He fights people like SHAWNDO, 12 points below. I thought WILY GIT showed
great skill and promise when he bested SHAWNDO. All right, so I slept through it!
Big deal!
There have been some calls to lengthen the time limit. Do you want the fighters
to walk away, or not? We all knew it had to happen sooner or later. A warrior can't
stick around with a 5-8-0, and 'ACKY GIT easily took care of ZULU. Many a warrior
has met his fate in a hungover stupor. You young rapscallions, take note!
Who knows what the future holds for a warrior. More fights, there's no doubt.
All work and no play makes Olaf a dull fighter. Work and play no fighter dull Olaf.
