SPY REPORT
Hail and well met warriors of ARKERS! Know me for who I am, Zontani Sharp Eyes,
Spymaster extraordinaire of all Alastari. Warriors--remember that glory waits always
around the corner! Witness how this week MIDDLE WAY 11 went 2-2-0 to move up 3 in
the rankings. DEIDRE caught the eye of many in the gladiatorial commission as she
skillfully bested ALPHA and was awarded 22 points in recognition. In one of the
week's more notable duels, DEIDRE put down ALPHA, causing him to lose 20 points of
recognition in the process. Although DEE NILE made a valiant effort, it did not
suffice to topple the reign of victorious BARE KNUCKLES. No confirmation, but my
sources claim that the top team has gained their position using magical aids.
Charmed weapons perhaps?
Many and various are the arts of battle. In ARKERS "art" is a word that has
long since passed from the language! ARKERS, city of gladiators! Mighty among the
names of thy guilds is FIGHTING IRISH, a guild shunned and avoided by many in the
weekly duels. Apparently the stalwarts of FAR TRAVELERS are catching the bulk of
jests down at the challenging board for their large share of the avoids. Mighty
fighters cannot but expect competition from those below. ALEMBIC take warning! You
have more than a few enemies in ARKERS.
Vendettas. Bloodied blades and broken spears. Indeed the city has seen more
than its fair share of red in recent times. I have seen warriors die in youth. I
have seen women cut down in their prime. This week TRIAL BY COMBAT must mourn the
loss of 6-4-0 GORE-TICIA to OFF THE DEEP END. Fate is a fickle mistress. She
showers the miserable with fortune but sets enemies against the victorious. Remember
this!
A thought before I go. Each warrior practices one style, but must not the wise
manager learn the secrets of them all? Ahh, but I can hear the spires of a far off
city calling to me. I must away! Till next we meet remember: a fool flies into a
