                                    TEAM SPOTLIGHT

Zwingli blended in with the rustic atmosphere of Zukal Arena as he moved through
the seedy crowd in this Free City. Zwingli could smell ale that had spilled on the
wooden grandstand as half drunken fans jumped from their seats to cheer for Cat
Tastrophie as she defended her Duelmaster crown. Her graduation to the Isle was
coming soon.
Zwingli had just received the Covenant Army's team credentials, and he came to
the bucolic Zukal Arena to scout out the competition. Just weeks ago he was kneeling
in the Grand Cathedral of Ankor staring up into the crystal vaulted ceiling as his
prayers wafted toward the heavens of Ankor's aerial kingdom. A voice interrupted his
meditation.
"Zwingli, the time has come for you to take our message of freedom and hope to
the great unwashed. The Aerial Council have decided. You will become a missionary
for the Order," spoke the angelic voice of Ariel, daughter of the High Priest of
Ankor. "You will be a Blood Missionary."
Zwingli's eyes widened as he heard these words fall from her lips like a
mourning dove shot from the sky by a poacher. "This cannot be true!" Zwingli spoke
as his head dropped and his eyes fell from the visage of heaven to the cold stone
beneath him.
"When you came here from the Chimlevtal Arena sands you too were a gladiator.
Instead of serving Lady Greywand, you sought a monk's life, but did you think that
you could escape fate? Now you will serve our Order with the talents you have always
had," spoke Ariel.
Zwingli slowly rose to his feet and turned to meet the soft eyes of Ariel. "Am
I to dance with Ruvian while trying to avoid the clutches of Ahringol? Can I dirty
my boots with the Ruvian sands while sending the infidels to bow upon Ahringol's
blood-stained carpet?"
"You cannot run from your fate, Zwingli. If you wish to mount up with wings,
then you must liberate Zukal's infidels with Ankor's message of freedom, or send them
to their own bloody fate." Ariel crossed her hands making the sign of Ankor across
her breast as she bowed her head. Two young acolytes stepped forward, placing a
black with blue trimmed cloak of Ankor across Zwingli's shoulders; stitched on it was
the wings and blood-stained sword icon of the Blood Missionary Order. With Ariel's
kiss, Zwingli's mission field became the rowdy sands of Zukal.

                                      SPY REPORT

Like the magnificent Sun, rising upon the Dawn and exiling the Night for a Day,
I, Novgorodny Vir, return once again! Practice pays for TOP CAT, who pummelled THE
PRUSSIAN, to pocket 18 points. QUETZALCOATL certainly had a baffled expression on
his face, after losing to HOMESTAR and losing 7 points in the process! M. CHARDINEE
found out that ZUKAL isn't a democracy. You've gotta be the best to be Duelmaster
here! Word has it one team in ZUKAL is taking speech lessons to try to bore their
opponent to death. I'll bet it works.
My mother wished me to avoid conflict, and seek the gentle trade of Spyreporter.
But warriors aren't supposed to avoid fights! Is it charming personality?
Conversational abilities? Good oral hygiene? Whatever it is, COPY CAT is the most
challenged warrior.
Ah, the duel! The roar of the oppenent, the smell of the crowd! TOP CAT of
ARENA FELINES sends THE PRUSSIAN of BLUE MOON goes to the Weary Warrior's Retirement
Home. ZUKAL has no place for weaklings! Perhaps PHILANTHROPISTS were the only ones
left untouched by LAZULIO demise. Can anyone ever take his place? Or do I
exaggerate? A moment of silence for THE PRUSSIAN, who died an untimely death at the
hands of TOP CAT. In the spirit of revenge, we call upon BLUE MOON to act!
Questions are being raised about the disposing of severed body parts in the arena. A
certain tavern in ZUKAL would I avoid!
All good things must come to an end. As if buffeted by forces of nature beyond
my control, I must take my leave of this place. Do not despair! I shall return!--
Novgorodny Vir

Is there anybody in the DM game who is incarcerated that has had to litigate in order
to continue playing? Or anyone in the free world who may be able to help me with
case law or legal advice? The Administration has already taken "D&D type games" from
us once (though I recently had that decision overturned). I believe it's only a
matter of time before they try it again and I am prepared to file a lawsuit if need
be. I enjoy DM and any help that could be offered would be greatly appreciated! I

Ladies and gents...get your teams together and join in on the hottest and fiercest
contest ever to grace the arena sands! Intrigue, personal wars, you name it...we got
it going on! What is this contest? It's the Turf War IV in DM 47, North Fork!!
This fantastic contest was begun by my alliance mate Asmo Dius, and I've picked up
some of the slack. Contest starts on Turn 225 (approx. date June 9th?). It's an
"alliance-type contest", so grab your folks and bring them in for a bang up time.
Rules will be printed in the DM 47 newsletter at least until the contest starts. --
