Bitterman hunched into his cloak, leaned against the railing of the boardwalk,
and stared out across Zukal's harbor. Not much going on. Too cold, too much ice,
too many storms... the ships that came and went all summer were either moored or more
often simply elsewhere. He shook his head. Not that going elsewhere made a lot of
sense--anywhere on the Storm Sea was bound to be locked in winter storms. If HE was
going elsewhere for the winter, he'd go south until he found some sunny beach. Debby
Tonte could probably tell him where to find one. Trouble was, he didn't get to go.
     "Ready to go?"
Bitterman jumped but caught the railing before he fell off into the harbor.
"Don't sneak up on me like that, Fisher!"
"I thought you saw me coming. Heck, I thought you were waiting for me--"
Bitterman glared at him. No one should be so cheerful when it was this cold.
"Go where?"
"Fishing! Ice fishing, to be precise. I've got a good spot picked, all the
gear on hand, and you'd be surprised how much fun you can have--"
"In your dreams, Fisher." He turned and stalked away, that performance somewhat
marred by his efforts not to slip on the icy boards. "I think I'll just...
hibernate."

                             Notes from the arena champ.

Today is MINE. A blizzard is sweeping down from the north, and I am that
blizzard! Freeze where you slither, Serpent 2!

                                      Norther

                                      SPY REPORT

Welcome ZUKAL. I, Olaf Modeen remember this place well. Many the fights have I
fought here. The celebrations, the disappointments... What's with MABUSHI? It
actually beat SPACEMARINES' VASQUEZ, and walked away with 17 more points from the
fight. Laughs were big at SERPENTS HOLD 2 while they watched MABUSHI clobber
VASQUEZ. She lost 7 points and got bruised from objects thrown from the stands.
Apparently ZUKAL isn't filled with as many gutless wonders as I thought. The Dreaded
Duelmaster got 2 challenges this turn! Another fighter (SHORT SKIRT 9-0-0)
challenged another Duelmaster (NORTHER 16-15-0). Life goes on. I'm sure ZUKAL is
excited about SHORT SKIRT, the new Duelmaster from HOT STUFF. (remember?) But when
you've seen as many as I have... Wouldn't it be nice to have live subjects to
practice on? I hear some team is looking into the uses of convicted prisoners.
Speaking of cowardly avoiders and unfair challenges... ZUKAL thinks BLUE MOON
and their 721-856-22 is too much! If at first you don't succeed, give up... In my
day, no team with a 717-855-22 would scare me off! What's the problem, HOT STUFF?
There have been some calls to lengthen the time limit. Do you want the fighters
to walk away, or not? How long have I been here? I got people to see, places to
go...
Who knows what the future holds for a warrior. More fights, there's no doubt.
The end of another Spyreport! That's cause for celebration in my book! Time for my
medication, so I'll leave now. Practice, practice, practice!-- Olaf Modeen

All -- I am getting together as many Duelmaster players as possible to play in a game
of Hyborian War as a change of pace. We already have 17 players that are interested
and we are trying to get as many as possible involved before I submit the list to
RSI. I am collecting the names and top 3 kingdoms that the players are interested in
and submitting it myself so we can all play in the same game. If you are interested
