Notes from the arena champ.
Sunny here. Quonset, noble contest. <curtsey> I've been "sent to my room"...my
room...the intricate maze of incorporated floors, stairwells, corridors, turrets
spires and, yes, many many rooms. Plus, I've my own, dad approved, world of hidden
passageways which meander through the length and breadth. Networks of intersecting
cavities built into the framework of the rambling estate. Since I can remember,
being "grounded" has only involved giving my parole.
Not unexpectedly my little entrepreneurial excursion has cost me some friends on both
sides of the ocean. The snobbish, shallow, flighty butterfly types, my peers, have
flitted off like I declared bankruptcy. And still too, some of my "new" friends seem
to think they'd been misled and have requested that I go about my business. Time

SPY REPORT
Well, what are you looking at, KOLACT? Ain't you never seen Snide Clemens
before? Ah, shaddup and listen to my news. Later days, TERRAPIN STATION, since WAR
HAWKS took top team from you this turn, you guys are old news. If this keeps up,
SPRINGBORN, you'll have to shine swords instead of use them. A drop of 4 in the
rankings? WAR HAWKS turned their 3-2-1 turn into a 1st place rank in the listings
this turn. Any better than this, and you get put on hit lists. Now let's all watch
QUBIT's heads swell from their 4-1-0 this turn. Haa ha ha ha! Big shots, big talk,
big deal. Of course, we're all terribly impressed to see WATSON win a fight and gain
21 points, terribly. Tsk, tsk, CLEO beat SIR PRISE and SIR PRISE lost 20 points.
You're breakin' my heart. TORLEC challenged KOLACT's Duelmaster for a shot at the
throne. And if variety is the spice of life, KOLACT may be getting bland, as SUNNY
SIDE UP stays top dog in the city. I'm not in a very good mood today, but why am I
telling you this? You want to know what's new, don't you, KOLACT?
My mother always told me, 'If you don't have anything nice to say, start
talking.' I loved that woman. What's the big D? TERRAPIN STATION was the most
avoided team? Bunch of lily livered... grumble... mumble... curse... And it looks
like TOWNSVILLAINS avoided them the most this turn. What a pack of would be losers,
if you ask me. Hmph. Ooh, I'm frightfully impressed, KEPLER was this turn's most
challenged warrior. Watch that ego swell, sports fans. Now look at this. FELICITAS
challenged down 25 against SIR AGLIO's SIR OCCO. What a weasel! And sorry to say,
FELICITAS overcame SIR OCCO, leaving a bad feeling with the crowd. I think
exploitive snob is the term I'm looking for.
Ah, now we come to my favorite part, where we see all the guys who are dead and
gone, and get to see if their team cared. Not that I'll be buying the drinks, but
I'll be glad to see QUONSET and QUBIT at Don Corleone's tonight celebrating their
bloodfeud victory over GRACIE. Titanium shields and bamboo daggers, guess what brave
team is developing these kinds of weapons?
What does the KOLACT arena have in common with the inns? It's just as
comfortable to sleep in either place. Ha ha ha ha! Well, I've had enough of this
drivel, and I'm sure you have too. Off like a dirty shirt of padded leather. Glad

ANNOUNCING THE RETURN OF STORMCROWE SLAUGHTERHOUSE
The last Stormcrowe Slaughterhouse was one of the closest and most exciting
contests ever held in Alastari. Such an epic demands a sequel. Therefore, Master
Darque and Jack Wolfspider are pleased to announce the return of the Stormcrowe
Slaughterhouse.
Where? Stormcrowe DM 45 (slow). When? The Slaughterhouse returns on Turn 207,
due August 19. How can you get into the action? Bring a team (one per entrant
please) to arena 45 and announce your intention to join the contest in the Personals.
Rules: This time around the rules are very simple. Each warrior win against a
higher rated opponent (one or more points higher in the ratings) brings you 10
points, against even rated opponent 7 points, lower rated 5 points. Wins against
NPCs or by a warrior who downchallenges are worth 0 points. Points are doubled for
kills. All warriors in the arena whether participating in the Slaughterhouse or not
are fair game. Points are totaled weekly, and the contestant whose team has racked
up the most points at the end of 10 turns is declared Slaughterhouse Champion.
Prizes: To be announced; we're still talking with RSI about it. Figure it will
be something pretty good. But hey, who needs prizes when the honor of being
Slaughterhouse Champion awaits!
