DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
Notes from the arena champ.
Wow, what a week! First I kill some guy in the arena, then the Duelmastership just
falls into my lap. But hey, I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth.
Sorry about my offing Quantum, Qubit. (Well, OK, I'm not *that* sorry, but the boss
says I gotta apologize anyway. Sometimes that guy's too much of a "gentleman," if
you ask me.) It's a shame you don't get a bloodfeud shot this week, seeing as how
you don't have anyone anywhere near the challenger champs.
Well, I guess I oughta put out a challenge of some kind, seeing as how I'm the top
dog here now. So, let's see if I can't put a blemish on that 10-0 record of Cup
O'Pizza's. Besides, I think the kid could use a fight or two against some *real*
competition.
All for now, boys and girls. Remember: If you can't fight in daylight, you'll fight
by torchlight. (Hey, I wanted to be a spy reporter when I was a kid. Gimme a break,
would you?)

SPY REPORT
Thankyouthankyou. It's great for me, The Unknown Spymaster to be back in
KOLACT. Hope you enjoy the show. Oh, who am I kidding? I already got paid! For
every winner there is a loser. Speaking of losers, lets take a look at SPRINGBORN,
who went down to 4th from 9th. Life is tough. Coming up with a solid 4-1-0 outing,
TOWNSVILLAINS has advanced 5 places in the rankings. Advancing in the rankings was
SIR AGLIO who went from last turn's 658-497-28, to this week's record of 661-498-28.
Hey everybody, watch out for SLIME GIGGLE, who flew up 17 points in the rankings
after mashing QAEDA, AL like a melon. Keep your eye on this guy. And falling like a
basher in the top ten was HELL BLAZER, who dropped 12 points after a disappointing
(to say the least) bout with QUADRICEPS. STORMBLADE got through to the Duelmaster
this turn. No doubt he was more than anxious to kick OJO TANGO's tail out of the
throne! Going for the gusto and coming up with aught but bloody knuckles was
THUNDERSTRIKERS' STORMBLADE, who was turned away from the Duelmastership by OJO
TANGO. Advice to bashers--never force anything, just get a bigger halberd!
But enough of that bunch, let's get on to the wimps who like to avoid battle!
Here's a song for you: Who's afraid of the big, bad MEGAWARRIORS? Big bad
MEGAWARRIORS. Big bad MEGAWARRIORS. KOLACT's afraid of the big bad MEGAWARRIORS.
Tra la la la la! And you guys like to boo me? Well, unsling your rasberries, cause
DEVIL'S ADVOCATE beats feet every time MEGAWARRIORS smiles at them. Try farming, eh?
And who is this TYCHO you ask, with 82 points and a 13-43-0 record. Ooh, the tales I
could tell! Getting lots of flowers from sympathetic fans was TYCHO, who was
successfully challenged by CUP O'PIZZA who had a mere 30 points more than TYCHO.
Definition of petty: CUP O'PIZZA defeated TYCHO, a mismatch of 30 points. In a
touching display by a 'touched' warrior, GOGO PATROL went after VULGAR, who was
higher by 21 points. Well, when the dust settled, GOGO PATROL was overcame by
VULGAR. BLAME SULTAN of TERRAPIN STATION had better have a good reason for
challenging down 9 points in a challenge which it won. I thought BLAME SULTAN showed
great skill and promise when it bested TROJAN ROC. All right, so I slept through it!
Big deal!
Being a spy is great--other people die and you spend the rest of the day
drinking to their memory. Better tanked than dead! This week 13-9-1 ASHLII was sent
to the Dark Arena. I know a lot of fighters with similar records who might take
notice of this. In the 'Oops, What Have I Done?' category, REVENANT was mashed by
SAVARE, who let REVENANT know that killing members of DARK CREATION is a no-no.
Congrats to SIR PLUTZ for revenging the death of his teammate (but more importantly,
feeding MUTE SCREAM a bit of dirt). Here's some advice: warriors with little wit
and will may encounter problems on the trail to the Isle.
I think I had better cut this one short. It's been nice chatting to those of
you whom I have not offended yet. Well, there goes another Spy Report. Good luck in

Our next Winter Face-to-Face will be held on Martin Luther King weekend, Friday
through Sunday, 14-16 January 2005, at the Embassy Suites in Tempe, Arizona (4400 S
Rural Rd--this is the same hotel as last year). Room rates are $139.00 per night,
1-4 occupancy, which includes breakfast. The rooms are blocked. The reservations
number is 480-897-7444; tell them you're with the "Reality Simulations Face to Face
Convention" block. Our room block will be released in mid-December, so please make
sure you reserve your room before then!
Room rates include a full cooked-to-order breakfast and a complimentary two-hour
manager's reception. There is a free shuttle to the airport, as well as free parking.
The hotel is located down the freeway in Tempe. All rooms have high speed internet
(for an extra charge). There is a fitness center, jacuzzi, and pool, and of course a
bar and Mexican restaurant inside the hotel. And there's Denny's right across the
street. Look for transportation info in the tournament information sheet.
The tournament information sheet/strategy sheet should be out sometime in late
November/early December.
