                                 DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
                             Notes from the arena champ.

Quip -- Admittedly I'm not the tempered lightning of the dearly departed micro aimed
blow, but I can hit hard. As I see it, I figure I must have prodigious quantities of
mind. Why? Because it takes me as much as a week, sometimes, to make it up. --
Sadie, Duelmistress

                                      SPY REPORT

I was going on vacation, see? Surf, sun... But what do those bums say? "Hit
the road, Debby Tonte. KOLACT needs a spyreport." Oh, well. MVP award for ACTAON?
THE MOONDOGS' proud of him after beating SIR BROKE STROKER and getting 24 points.
Talk about yer big time losers! SIR BROKE STROKER got smashed by ACTAON, and lost 15
points! And I was just getting used to the ex-Duelmaster's habit of...(!) Oh well,
welcome QUO VADIS. Aren't QUBIT proud. (Oh, my.) Is the Duelmaster really being a
real snob to his teammates? Don't ask me!
Look, you guys stick to fighting, all right?
Man, all these warriors dying and killing each other! Don't you guys ever give
it a break? Hey you guys, don't you think your families would like to hear from you?
Write! (Or have someone write for you.)
I really didn't, you know, study when I was a kid. Who would've guessed I'd be
a famous Spyreporter? I know how much you like reading this stuff, but I really
should stop. Its been really albendranius! Later, guys-- Debby Tonte

All -- Introducing Wanda, Waldo and Sardine Sally. Competition on the hoof. -- Still

Actaon -- Let's just call it a difference of opinion. (s'what makes horse races) You
stood me up, taught me well, and took me down. -- Mr. Shrdlu

Quasimodo -- There is something that has been nagging at me for some time now, and
I'll bet you can set me straight on it. By setting yourself straight: If you
weren't hunched over, would you, or would you not, be as tall as I am? Inquiring
minds and all that. -- Monday (formerly know as Moonday, but remember I gave an O to
Mr Shrdlu? He never did give it back, not that I'm complaining, mind you.)

He never gave it back, but he's not using it. Have we uncovered a secret O
     hoarder? -- Ed.

Mr Shrdlu-O -- It's probably that O that is throwing you off balance. I suspected
that my teammate had an ulterior motive! You could drop-kick it into next week, or
at least the next day, if you felt like it. *I* wouldn't mind, not really. In
fact...Tuoesday? Intriguing. -- Actaon

Sir Cophagus -- You overlook the prophylactic effect of really strong peppermints.
They're amazing. -- Estrella

Sir Cumference -- It's probably all that pi. It'll mess up anybody's waistline. --
Cynica

A few notes about e-mailed personals:

You may submit personal ads, columns, spotlights, etc. electronically, either via e-
mail to ads at reality dot com (which doesn't need any more spam, thank you) or on
the web at http://www.reality.com/duel2/modules.php?name=Ads. When you submit
something, you should get back a receipt from HAL at RSI. If you do NOT get a
receipt, your ads may have gone astray (not all e-mail makes it to its destination
any more than all snail mail does). If you DO get a receipt, it should, in the body
of the message, tell you what arena your stuff was filed in. Check your receipt to
make sure your submission made it to the intended destination. Also check to see
that everything you sent made it to the same place. Sometimes HAL, who is rather
simple-minded in some ways, will send half your stuff to another arena if the name
or number of that arena shows up at the beginning of a line. So if the word Ti
appears at the beginning of a line halfway through your ads, all the ads after that
may end up in Ti, which is closed and doesn't need ads. As a side note, sometimes
things move slowly, so don't wait until the last minute to send your ads and all.
If they get held up along the way, they may not show up until next turn. Happy
writing! -- Ed.
