Notes from the arena champ.
I salute you in your departure, Sir Cumference, and accept the unearned honor of
the title of Duelmistress of Kolact. For whatever reason, probably one involving
political points, this sees me graduating as well. It is unlikely I will go to the
Isle of the Eye, in part because I have been given to understand that Arenamaster
Filiaril is correct about the life of an advanced gladiator being less than exciting,
and in part because I'm simply tired of living on islands. I want to live in the
middle of the land, with miles and miles and miles of land on every side. Maybe I'll
go to Lirith Kai; I understand there's a lot of land there, even if it belongs to
other people.

SPY REPORT
Hail and well met warriors of KOLACT! Know me for who I am, Zontani Sharp Eyes,
Spymaster extraordinaire of all Alastari. Former top team THE ABYSMALS was unseated
this week as THE MOONDOGS moved up from 2nd ranking to take the top spot with a 4-1-0
record for the round. My praise to SPRINGBORN for their 4-1-0 week this time out.
Indeed, it was a skillfully fought round deserving of notice! GUIDO caught the eye
of many in the gladiatorial commission as he skillfully bested EMBEZZLING SCRIBE and
was awarded 20 points in recognition. In one of the week's more notable duels,
BOGYPHOBIA put down GOLPE MORTAL, causing her to lose 16 points of recognition in the
process. The city has turned out in honor of BUFFALO BOB, for with his arena victory
he may now lay claim to the highest position in the city! Informants "close" to the
city champion have told me that he never fights without pantyhose on beneath his
armor. Watch out!
Many and various are the arts of battle. In KOLACT "art" is a word that has
long since passed from the language! KOLACT, city of gladiators! Mighty among the
names of thy guilds is THE MOONDOGS, a guild shunned and avoided by many in the
weekly duels. If you didn't look down dark alleys you'd have been hard pressed to
find any of FEAR LESS last week. Busy avoiding THE MOONDOGS? Mighty fighters cannot
but expect competition from those below. ICARUS take warning! You have more than a
few enemies in KOLACT.
What warrior does not hone his years, impatiently waiting for the moment of his
foe's mortality? Fate is a fickle mistress. She showers the miserable with fortune
but sets enemies against the victorious. Remember this!
A thought before I go. Each warrior practices one style, but must not the wise
manager learn the secrets of them all? More than a sharp eye must I keep, indeed a
stout pair of legs must I keep as well! The endless paths of Alastari await me!
