DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
Notes from the arena champ.
Finally, I have managed to get my shot at laying claim to this throne. It has
been long in coming, but when I had my shot, I did not miss it. It was a good fight,
Orbin Paes, you were a proud Duelmaster and will make a worthy Lord Protector, but
this one was mine.
It was long in the making. My career began over 20 years ago. The last time a
Viking sat on this throne was 1988. It was Stren-Thion, a Piker who held the throne
for something like 10 straight turns. But then when my career was still young, Nomad
decided to take "some time off." Some?! Seventeen years! For seventeen long years
I was in limbo. Then, finally, the lure of sands drew him back. Back to Sunset!
Back to Bonsur! To the new arena of Shadowspire! But what of his original arena?
The arena that had first seen Nomad's warriors' blood spilt upon the sands? No,
there would be no regular play for the Vikings!
At least he did concede that I and the rest of the squad would get to fight
"occasionally." Three years later that has meant 9 more fights on my ledger. And it
isn't as if he is showering us with tourney appearances either. I believe I have had
one since returning, although I'm not quite sure after that broadsword to the head.
But I digress...
After a long wait the time finally came to get my shot at the throne! And here
I am. Surely Nomad wouldn't dare to sit out a Duelmaster would he? I have never
known him to do such a thing before. At the least, I know I shall fight this turn.
So who to challenge? Oh. Uhm. Where'd everybody go? It is looking a bit like a
ghost arena up here in the champs. Helloooo! Anybody there? No challenges this
time.

SPY REPORT
Oh, hi. Its just little 'ol Debby Tonte. Thought I'd check out KOLACT to see
what's new. MVP award for SKYHAWK? VIKINGS' proud of him after beating LIA HOBERN
and getting 18 points. Talk about yer major upsets! LIA HOBERN's match with SKYHAWK
cost her a loss of 17 points! This Duelmaster is like something else! CHAGAN
stopped VENOMOUS CONCUBINE dead in hers tracks! I hear the top team insists all
their warriors get nine hours sleep. They want photogenic fighters for PR photos.
So just why would someone becomes a warrior anyway? It can't be for these
really neat Spyreports can it? THE MOONDOGS was KOLACT's most avoided team. Is
there some award for that? Hhmph! What kind of warriors are VIKINGS? THE MOONDOGS,
an easy team to beat if I ever saw one, can't get them to accept an invitation!
Like, is LIA HOBERN popular, or what? She was challenged the most in all of KOLACT!
She's got a 6-2-0, is that good?
Challenges, revenges, Bloodfeuds. All KOLACT ever talks about is fighting! Me,
I'm more laid back. Fight, fight, fight. Is that all you guys can do?
Remember, blood on a purple robe may stain. Soak it in cold water, and hand

golems are generally very conservative that way, but the evidence on hand
suggests that sooner or later capitals will be substituted for the lower-case
