SPY REPORT
Thankyouthankyou. It's great for me, The Unknown Spymaster to be back in ARUAK
CITY. Hope you enjoy the show. Oh, who am I kidding? I already got paid! We now
have a new top team for all of you guys to dogpile on. SCARLET KNIGHTS II now holds
the crown and they are betting they can keep it. A stormcloud is brewing over the
OLD BOYS CLUB guildhouse. Rumor says any more weeks like this ones 0-3-0 may send
the team to the Dark Arena. Coming up with a solid 2-3-0 outing, IMMORTALS has
advanced 6 places in the rankings. It looks like the guys(?) at ANIMAL FARM had a
good week as they went 3-0-0 to put them in 10th place. I guess steroids help! Hey
everybody, watch out for SMUDGE, who flew up 20 points in the rankings after mashing
ROCKIE DEE like a melon. Keep your eye on this guy. Ya know, some days it doesn't
pay to walk out on the sands. SEGALLION SUNDANCER was beat by SALENA WARSMITH and
drops 14 points. Our battling duelmaster WALL OF GLASS has managed to hold the
title, fending off NILA SUNDANCER's none too subtle advances. Better luck next time,
KRILL CAVALRY. 4 out of 5 gladiators surveyed protect the body, so try and avoid
aiming at that location.
But enough of that bunch, let's get on to the wimps who like to avoid battle!
Here's a song for you: Who's afraid of the big, bad KELLUMBO'S KIDS? Big bad
KELLUMBO'S KIDS. Big bad KELLUMBO'S KIDS. ARUAK CITY's afraid of the big bad
KELLUMBO'S KIDS. Tra la la la la! Okay, so I may not be funny, but catch TUFT
TUGGERS' act in the arena. Those acrobats seem to be fairly deft at running from
KELLUMBO'S KIDS. Well dang howdy, but if challenges were votes, WILDSIDE would be
president. Although it may be a contest he doesn't want to win. CYCLONE of
NEVERWAKE had better have a good reason for challenging down 14 points in a challenge
which he lost. I thought CYCLONE showed great skill and promise when he lost to LINI
DAWNWIND. All right, so I slept through it! Big deal!
Death is kind of like a new puppy: he's always around wanting to play. (Ha
Zontani, how's that for a wise saying?). LONNIE JOHNSON defied all odds and slew
BANDIT PRINCE in the Dark Arena. The only ones displeased were the buzzards, as
BANDIT PRINCE's meat is notoriously tough. This week 20-26-1 TONY MCALPINE was sent
to the Dark Arena. I know a lot of fighters with similar records who might take
notice of this. Big deal, so ANGEL EYES got mashed in the Dark Arena. With his face
he was more at home with the trolls than with us. (Waka waka). Ask not the elves for
counsel, for they will say both yes and no. Silly buggers, eh?
Well, that wasn't too bad; Alarond told me that the people in ARUAK CITY have no
sense of humor. Or maybe that they were senseless. Okay, so I may not be the
world's best comedian, but then you guys aren't the world's best warriors. And
remember, you can pick your friends and you can pick your--(loud boos), oh, you've
heard that one already!-- The Unknown Spymaster

ARUAKI -- In the spirit of defining Kellumbo as a cur, his initials D.K. shall hence
forth stand for "Detestable Knave". -- Aruaki at Heart, Tankesh
D.K. -- Emasculate imbecile. -- Tankesh
Khaki Kangaroo -- The blade on my hockey stick is pretty wicked, eh? -- Zlatina
Persiana Jones -- You're not as great looking out there as I thought you'd be
considering how high up the ranks you are. You're lucky I didn't get a swing in when
you were getting tired. Otherwise, well done. -- Segallion
Panther -- I guess I'll avoid the grape juice and look for something easier to skin on
your team. -- Branford
Doodlebug -- It seems I did all the doodling. For such a cute critter, you sure kill
a lot. Of course I'd never expect a doodlebug of all things to be an evil invader. --
Eliza
Ice -- I've almost mastered sculpting your fragile butt into a pile worthy of a
margarita. It won't take much before I learn to finish you off, then you will be in a
pickle. -- Kalidor
Nila -- Perseverence wouldn't count for much without some skill. You must have it. --
Segallion
Kennelworth -- Maybe we can get our historian, Dartor, to come back and request some
data. I recall you listed in the newsletter the other champions on the wall at one
point. He could probably dig it up. Adie doesn't keep her newsletters older than a
few months anymore either. -- Tankesh
Dartor -- You up for digging through historical records for past champions? -- Tankesh
All -- Would someone please burn down the damn Bulldog Inn. We are so sick of hearing
about that dump! -- Detective Kellumbo
Nina Sundancer -- That will not happen again. -- Dik-Dik
Kallidor the Wuss -- I guess your name says it all. -- Ice
Blood Monkey -- Who would have thought you'd actually come out swinging a monkey
around like it was a morning star! Well done. -- Steel
Skamakaze -- I am sure that next turn will bring better things for me! -- Positive
Polyana
Alyosha -- Yup, two steps is about all you got in after you got hit. -- Two Stepper
Tankesh -- Big, dumb, moron. -- DK
Segallion -- I guess I was just lucky then, huh? -- Dik-Dik
Cherry Cheetah -- Say what you want. But we all know who avoided who, and who got the
win when we fought. -- Dik-Dik
Kennelsworth -- You and Tankesh combined are enough to make a girl want to puke.
Perhaps next your can bronze your behinds and hang them up as well? -- DK
Tankesh -- That leaves it at 0-0, then. And it looks like my friend Mino just had a 1-
1. -- Kennelworth
Wall Of Glass -- Congrats on your DM and LP. Well deserved. And, of course,
Duelmasters drink free at the Bulldog Inn. -- Kennelworth, Proprietor
Mr. Steele -- Your continuing downchallenging, "my way or the highway" methods in
Aruak City are just what our old pal, Ace, depicted when he described the former Dark
Circle Black Baron. -- Kennelworth
Treestump -- Thank you for fostering my great 1-0 start in Aruak City. Wow! And three
skills and a rating! I wish I were really THAT good. -- Bucking Brahma
Samira Flee -- I stumbled through that one with no mustard, but I was glad to see the
bun was present. -- Hot Dog
Lini -- Apparently you don't understand "us types" well. Many of us exercise
aggressively multiple times a day. (Some will say too, too much.) But it seems to come
with the "rest of the territory." -- Bullomia
Hot Pants -- Well, I certainly cannot complain about the match up, but next time
please wear something other than leather. -- Calfskin
Tankesh -- You lowly human, now you've caused me to slip a little. This turn's 2-1 was
not to expectations, leaving us at 5-1 for two rounds. Are you watching? Remember, you
know where to find our "numbers". -- Purple People Eater, Proud Colorific Manager
Wildside -- Clearly you exuded the velvet. Not I. -- Blue Velvet, Proud and Humiliated
Colorific
Rockie Dee -- GeeFe! And wheeeeeee! I liked that match up. I really, really fought
like the blazes. Really well. Proudly well. Let's do that more Rockie Dee - for me.
-- Blue Blazes, Proud Colorific
Taj Mahal -- I was the majestic mass of enduring beauty, while you were simple "the
blues". I like it that way. -- Yellow Streak, Proud Colorific
Dik-Dik -- You're a kid? (squinting) Kinda tall for a kid, aren't you? Or are you
going to grow up to be Shewish? -- Nila Sundancer
Blue Blazes -- That was a VERY bad move on your part. Didn't you hear the crowd roar
with disapproval when you knocked me down? They love me here. -- Rockie Dee
Hot Dog -- Would things have gone better if I'd brought a bun? -- Samira Fleet
The Mummy -- Aha! I got to you before you'd had all your tanna leaves, didn't I? --
Lin Dawnwind, an early bird with no interest in worms, but there ARE other things you
can do early in the morning
Van Helsing -- So I start with you and the next match is better? I can work with
that. -- Jo Mooncatcher
Yellow Streak -- A good bleach might help. -- Samira Fleet
Bullomia -- So who wants to live in the fast lane? -- Lini Dawnwind
Doc -- I have a question for our new neighbor: When are we going to see a full team
run so that you can be met on equal footing and not at your advantage? -- Street Legal
Segallion -- Not a problem as my manager realizes having a log jam of warriors of his
at the top it's not always easy to find a target, as we seem to only have Armalias'
warriors who he feels we may have style advantage at the present time (if it appears
we're targeting him we're not it's just a matter of circumstance at the moment). --
Billy "My head's in Mississippi" Gibbons
Zlatina -- Nothing to be ashamed of even if Lonnie is kind of a pud he seems to have
knack, and I discovered early on his OE and tactic (and darn close to his AL also,
weapon was WAAAAY off). With his probable retirement I will reveal his specs. 11(1)-

I have tried to position K.K. to take over for Tony as most popular with this last
fight against a scum (almost had you Minnie), we shall see if my plan works!!! --
Street Legal
RUGs -- We hope you are pleased by the offerings we left at the temple for you this
past week. Seeing as how this was our manager's first dual graduation he insisted we
all pray and leave personal offerings on top of the normal gifts that he leaves when a
replacement is expected! -- Lonnie, Bonnie, Tony, Billy, and K.K. of THE HEADCUTTERS
II
Kennelworth -- It is a rare event that you must resort to the Dark Arena. Best of
luck with the replacements. -- Generalissimo Puerco
Adie and Kennelworth -- A portrait of the Carris is in the works even as we speak.
The WALL, finally! -- Generalissimo Puerco
Rockie Dee -- Not much time for singing, these days. I (obviously) need to practice
my fighting skills. -- The Singing Bandit
Blimey, mates! Me critters bea 1-3! Damme! Ye gonna walk yon plank, aminals, lest
ye get a load 'o winnin'. Aye. -- Mino
Angnelova -- You marsuped me! Good challenge, and great fighting. -- Khaki Kangaroo
Ganymedes -- Hmmm. I was not a wise old owl. No, sir! -- Onyx Owl
Rainsong -- No wonder they call me albatross. -- Almond Albatross
Branford Hawke -- I was at my very best. A sleek, aggressive purple cat. -- Purple
Panther
Dik Dik -- Are you yet up at the Challenger Champ level, chump? -- Cherry Cheetah
Doc Steele -- Ye landlubber! Ye'd make yon bloody black pirate wif yer sly Cap'n Hook
ways. Aye. -- Mino
All -- I apologize for being late with the ads. I have a very busy real life
schedule. I do my turns first, and then go back and do ads when I have time. So here
sit this morning with 3 newsletters worth of ads, and I think these will be late.
Anyway, better late than never. -- Doc Steele
Rillion -- Re: My brilliant repeat down challenges of your TP with my AB. Do you
recall that burning disgust in the pit of your stomach when you wrote that ad? The
frustration you felt over having to de-activate a warrior because of me and your
agreement not to avoid? That is why I did it. I do not like you. It gives me great
pleasure to not only defeat your warriors, but to aggravate you in the process. You
are the latest evolution of the worst kind of Andorian. And now I see that on top of
being a challenge-avoiding hypocrite, you are a whiner as well. *shudder* I'm sure
you'll be King of Andorak someday with all these strong Andorian character traits.
Cowboy-up and fight on! -- Doc Steele, your friendly Delarquan neighbor
Tankesh -- Down challenge and killing, down challenge and killing..is there anything
else we can discuss!? I'd be happy to stop down challenging in your arena out of
respect for its traditions, if all of you actually start sticking to your guns! You
can't have a moral code that you break the second someone does something you do not
like. What are the rules? We down challenge on what--Bloodfeuds and from the Throne
only? Oh, unless someone down challenges me. Or they attack a vital one too many
times in a random match up. You see my point, I just don't have time to cross
reference my challenges with an approved down challenge list. It's all or nothing
really. That is why I just follow the rules of the game, and put no additionally
morality into the decision process. Talk to RSI, I will happily stand with you to
have down challenges made illegal in Aruak City. If one day, when I retire from my
real life job that demands upwards of 80 hours a week, and my kids are all out of the
house, and I have time to track all of this crap; I will happily develop a Down
challenge approved list with you for Aruak City and follow it. -- Doc Steele
Tankesh -- Re: Invaders. I got into a flame war with several managers, whose names I
hardly remember anymore about bullying new managers that do something in this arena
you do not like. In the course of the argument, I declared I would come here and see
who would bully me. I have a list somewhere of those that said they would come after
me. It was a ill timed coincidence that the Sloshers had been planning their Invasion
here for months. They decided to launch early due to my stirring the pot so much. It
came off looking like they were following me here. That was not the case. We shared
a database of styles for about 3 months, and then they lost interest in adding to it,
so I went my own way. Settled in for the long haul if you would. I did not agree
with their reasons for the Invasion, but I did agree with their right to play how they
wanted. If I had been around longer in Aruak City, and had any feeling of being part
of the arena, I likely would have gone after them when they Invaded myself. Has the
world ended since I came here and down challenged and ran with high kill desires? I
just consulted my database, I have a combined 50 wins here with 9 kills, and I ask you
does it matter? Did it alter the course of events in Aruak City? Gladiators die, I
just happen to kill them twice as fast as those of you who try not to. In the big
picture, it is spitting in the wind. How many gladiators might I save, if I stood
with you in the next Invasion? How many teams would suddenly run short of money, or
lose interest if they found your old Delarquan pale waiting for them in Aruak City?
For that matter, where are all of you people who gave me a bunch of crap on the
Internet? Are any of you around? I seem to be arguing with the actual people who are
the heart and soul of Aruak City, instead of the loud mouths that brought me here. I
know some of you spoke up when I asked who would stop me, but did you really want to
stick up for Street Legal and Dreidenflag? Where are they now? I should have ignored
those guys that day, but I did not, so I am here. Due to my presence you have seen
the return of Kennelworth and Armalias. It's not really all bad. -- Doc Steele, your
friendly Delarquan neighbor
Kennelworth -- The Dark Circle days!? You just brought up the Dark Circle. Amazing.
That was 10 years ago, let it go. -- Doc Steele, Legion4
Kennelworth -- You called my explanation of my arrival here a "fable." Then you asked
me to come by for a drink. I certainly do not drink with people who call me a liar.
I suppose we will not be entertaining the players here with lively discussions after
all. I'm just not going to roll around in the muck with you. Life is too short, to
let a game get so personal. I would have thought you figured it out by now,
considering you are a man of advanced years. It's embarrassing really, your lack of
dignity. -- Doc Steele
Generalissimo Puerco -- Aruak City grows on me. Maybe one day I will even be just
another part of the arena. Time has a way of doing tricky things. I am a man of my
word, I'll be here as long as I play this game. -- Doc Steele
Tankesh -- I almost forgot your question about our record here. My database shows us
at 1-1. -- Doc Steele
Tankesh -- RE: Down challenging one of your warriors. Well I have been running a
pair of low wit Aimed Blows recently. I have a policy of running any reasonable AB
set up until it dies or graduates. Sort solution for the missing link for my total
dominance of Primus. Anyway, with low wit Aimed Blows I find that it is simple math.
They will win maybe 30% of their non-TP fights, and 100% of their TP fights. That is
how you can make your way to AD at about a 50% record. So each turn, I look on
Terrablood's web site and see who is a TP. Then I challenge 2 of them. There is no
malice, moral decision, or in your particular case, insult meant by it. It is all
game tactics. As for you getting all puffy, and yelling at me, I guess I thought you
were better than that. "from somebody who professes so much arrogance." I not sure
those big words mean what you think they do. Be careful, you might sprain something.
-- Doc Steele
Tankesh -- The more I read your ads, the more I am feeling bad about what I said
above. Are you just a kid? When I read your stuff I just get the feeling you are
giggling away while you tap at the computer, just before your Mom calls you for
dinner. Please let me know, I don't want to say anything inappropriate for our
younger audience. A game is a game, but the Father in me doesn't want to scar you for
life. But here is a thought for all ages. Playing a strategy mail in simulation of
gladiatorial combat, in any way, does not "prove their honor, or at least their
manhood" It is just not possible. As you grow up and experience more of life, you
will find plenty of opportunities to stick to the moral high ground, or to be a good
man. I hope when those moments arrive for you in life, you are as bold and strong as
you are when you role-play in this game. The world will be a better place for it. --
Doc Steele
Eliza -- You need to read more carefully. I in favor of RSI getting rid of down
challenges, so that I can stop hearing from all of you how bad they are and how evil I
am. All I want is a level playing field, and I am confident in my game skills.
Whenever I have mentioned this I always make sure to point out that I will continue to
down challenge while it is legal in the game. The rest of you make a list of 25
reasons why you will and will not, I just do not have time for that. So when I say I
am going to down challenge while it is legal, and then you get down challenged; why
would you be surprised? Go back and read the ad again. -- Doc Steele
All -- Well, I am caught up on ads. I'll try not to fall behind again. -- Doc Steele
