If you were disturbed from your beauty rest only to have to watch a bunch of
ARUAK CITY brutes like you, you'd be grouchy, too. Later days, DARKOVER II, since
NEVERWAKE took top team from you this turn, you guys are old news. If this keeps up,
COLORIFIC, you'll have to shine swords instead of use them. A drop of 8 in the
rankings? IMMORTALS turned their 3-2-1 turn into a 9th place rank in the listings
this turn. Any better than this, and you get put on hit lists. Now let's all watch
BULLDOGS' heads swell from their 4-1-0 this turn. Haa ha ha ha! Big shots, big
talk, big deal. Of course, we're all terribly impressed to see PONY win a fight and
gain 20 points, terribly. Tsk, tsk, DAWNING DANIKA beat HONOR and HONOR lost 10
points. You're breakin' my heart. And if variety is the spice of life, ARUAK CITY
may be getting bland, as SPECIAL! stays top dog in the city. I'm not in a very good
mood today, but why am I telling you this? You want to know what's new, don't you,
ARUAK CITY?
He who fights and runs away will live to fight another day, the coward. ARUAK
CITY, I am losing what little hope I had in you. DARKOVER II the most avoided team?
What insult will suffice, I cannot say. And it looks like BULLDOGS avoided them the
most this turn. What a pack of would be losers, if you ask me. Hmph. Ooh, I'm
frightfully impressed, SLEDGE was this turn's most challenged warrior. Watch that
ego swell, sports fans. Looks like time for laurels or hemlock, TWO-S0PEAR was
challenged by YOUSEFF, who was ranked 26 points below him. Well, ok, the upstart
knave (where've I heard that before?) won this match and gained 19 points to boot!
Ha ha ha, TWO-S0PEAR. I guess I can give a little credit to TOBIUS of ORDO HERETICUS
for challenging up by 24 to TURQUOISE TIGER. TOBIUS lost to get 77 points of
recognition.
Death and Taxes. The less death I see, the more it taxes my patience. Let's
see if anyone's dead or dying. I could say I saw this coming, but so could anyone
else. Anyway, this turn it came. SILVER LINING's 16-14-3 has earned it the Dark
Arena. IMMORTALS has cause to pause today, as LON BRADDOCK was sent to the Dark
Arena, and came back--though not in the best of moods, I'll wager. Consider GULLET
gone, and ORDO HERETICUS unfeeling, letting the bloodfeud for hers death go
unrevenged. Honor is like a chainmail shirt, it only shines through use. Certain
nameless cowards will doubtless rebuke me on this one.
There's got to be a better place in ARUAK CITY to get a drink than The Victory
Tavern! Any suggestions? Well, I've had enough of this drivel, and I'm sure you
