She whispered to Torin, "What was that?" Torin followed her line of sight to a dark figure emerging out of another passage with a longsword in hand. He glanced at Belana and shrugged. "Let's find out lass." The lithe young Lord Protector silently approached through the shadows, sword leading the way. When she got close enough, she recognized the face. "Rin Tin Tin." Rin spun about defensively, but recognized the face. "Belana." Belana let out a deep breath, "Thank the Gods." * * * Lyssa awoke groggily. She tried to move but found herself chained to a hard surface. When she looked around at the chanting beings, who she knew were demons of the void, and the magically ensorceled stones, she knew fear. She watched them as they were casting and noted it as the same style of magic as that used by the teleportal. That magic only known by Sheila Greywand. After analyzing the runes carved on the rocks, and the spells they were casting, she realized that they were preparing to open a gate. A gate whose power needed to be fueled by a sacrifice. The golden haired Lady Protector closed her eyes and sighed helplessly as a fearful sadness enveloped her. When she opened her eyes again, the palace servant stood over her. "Why?" Lyssa whispered. He smiled evilly, "After the destruction of Demnat's choosen and their priests, as well as the only King Strong enough to oppose her," he added, "Sheila's arenas will have no resistance." "Why the Aruaki?" "They oppose the arenas the most." "This isn't Greywands style. She's too subtle. Besides, she would find all Alastari turning against her when it's learned of what she's done. This won't work." she commented. He said nothing and only gave a malicious grin. * * * The guards moved hastily, running about to summon up more troops, they would prepare for the worst. After hearing Shrew's harried account below, Mickeal agreed action was needed right away. Evacuation of the palace started immediately. Adie turned to the King, "I'd have preferred to meet you under better circumstances, but I've a friend to save. We'd like to go down there now your majesty." "I don't believe the palace has enough men currently to handle that situation in addition to the evacuation. You have my permission to go into the palace and deal with this." He glanced at the group of LP's. "All things considered, you'd stand a much better chance than the guards. Good luck." "Thank you your majesty." The catacomb doors opened with a thunderous groan. When the Lord Protectors emerged into the main chamber, they too recognized the tenuous nature of the ceiling. Adie thought about using some powerful stone shaping magic to strengthen it, but with magic malfunctioning... "Alaina, didn't you," she motioned to the group, "connect those demons of the void with this mining operation?" Alaina hesitated and Strome spoke for her, "The demons were responsible for kidnaping the Aruaki families likely being used to supply muscle for the operation. It was never confirmed." "Never the less, Shrew pointed out such people below." Adie frowned, "They have complete control over their magical abilities, despite the contamination. I'm going to have to rely on minor spells to keep my magic under control." She looked at the warriors drawing their weapons, "You will have to do most of the work." Khazakh added his booming voice to the discussion at hand. "We have NO armor, and FEW weapons." Alaina spoke then to the surprise of the others, "This is a catacomb. There will likely be functional ceremonial weapons about." Ms. Calfskin picked up on that, "That would be right. We might find some armor suits holding some, or perhaps in the hands of statues. Maybe even lying alone on a rack." "Then hurry up. Be quick about it." Adie added. Alaina already had her rapier at her side and drew it forth, readying it with a dagger from her boot. Strome was armed as usual with his broadsword. A woodsman never leaves home without it. Khazakh, despite having a shortsword strapped at his side, sauntered off and found a beautifully polished steel longspear. His voice echoed approvingly through the hall, "YES!!" Ms. Calfskin found a gem encrusted, well-balanced longsword to augment the dagger she possessed. Adie looked at them all. "Ready." she asked. They all nodded agreement. She motioned to a pair of columns off to the side, between which a door rested. "There's the entrance. Let's go." Strome, with his excellent stealth abilities, took point. He slid the door open easily and stepped into the shadows on the short flight of stairs. They could hear the chanting within the cavern as they stepped out onto the ledge. An eighty foot drop to the floor awaited at the tip of their feet. Strome, a bit farther ahead, motioned with his hands, indicating that he could see thirteen foes and one friend. Adie motioned for him to come back. "What did you see?" she asked. Strome laid it out for them. Adie nodded in thought then sighed, "Thirteen is too many to handle. Each could kill one of us." She nodded as if coming to a decision. "OK, this is what we'll do..." Half of the demons finished casting, having finished their part of the ritual. The Palace Servant began a final chant over Lyssa who began to squirm and writhe in a last attempt to get loose. The chains however were enchanted, strong as adamant, and blocking all magical abilities she attempted. The wind in the cavern whipped up to a strong gale sending dirt and dust into the air. Despite the breeze, the air began to warm slowly as the black monoliths rippled with violet magical energy. Small thunderclaps echoed across the cave as arcs of electricity crackled between the stones converging on a single point centered above the Lady Protector chained to the altar. That point began to glow of its own power, sparking and shimmering, showering the whole area in magical smotes. The Palace Servant's voice was reaching a crescendo as he drew forth a wicked dagger, its length undulating, its blade glinting in the light. He raised the dagger, crackling with magic, above his head. Lyssa looked up one last time and received a splattering of black goo upon her face for the effort, for a dagger tip had protruded from the Palace Servants mouth. The spellcasting ruined, the focus of magic above the altar faltered and collapsed in upon itself. The energy of the collapsing portal backlashed into the six chanting demons. In a cacophony of brilliant light, thunderclaps, and intense concussion waves, they exploded. Regaining his feet from the blast, gurgling in anger, the palace servant yanked out the dagger from the back of his head and tossed it to the side. He spun about to face whomever had done that. "Hello deary." Ms. Calfskin said eloquently. "Did I ruin your day?" "KILL HER!!" he screamed. The Lord Protectors had come down via a featherweight spell, falling but allowing them to alight upon the ground softly. But their presence was masked by invisibility spells cast by Adie, minor spells which dissipated upon violent action. Ms. Calfskins's excellent timing was not luck. Adeolar, one of the most magically learned people in the world, recognized the portal summoning and knew exactly how to disrupt it with the best desired effects. Now their enemies numbered only seven. But their vengeance would be devastating. The demons' skin bubbled and burned away, bursting as they took on their preferred material form outside of the void. That of a semi-transparent, crimson red, amoeba-like form with black nodules floating within their bodies. White points of light represented their eyes which wandered about on their bodies. The multiple pseudopods used as arms were perfect for wielding and manipulating the somatic components of magic. Before they finished shapeshifting, Adie finished a spell channeling a powerful shield of magic from her god. Her prayers were answered as the spell cut through the contamination of magic. A spotlight of glowing white illuminated the area around her as the spell finished, causing her to become visible. The light flowed into her and spread out into a sphere centered on herself. Ms. Calfskin was within the area of effect thankfully as the demons unleashed a hail of fiery projectiles flung from dozens of pseudopod arms. They harmlessly impacted upon the shield and dissipated. Adie however was holding the component to the spell, a magically endowed piece of metal which burned of its own volition, but burned up even faster as the shield absorbed more magic. She held the metal in her hand which smoked. The pain dropped her to her knees, but she held onto it. The demons spread out, a couple of them taking flight into the cave and continuing to hurl fire at the sphere, recognizing that the priestess within couldn't hold the shield up for long. One of them moved up to the shield to attack Ms. Calfskin, but found that it couldn't penetrate the shield, but that wasn't so for the people within. Khazakh became visible as he launched a devastating trust with his spear, straight through the creature. But it laughed at the attack as it slid away unharmed by the non-magical weapon. Ms. Calfskin also attacked and sliced her sword across it's torso, splitting it in half. However, the ancient ceremonial sword was more than looks, it held a dweomer strong enough to affect the demon which howled in pain and detonated as well. The other demons stayed back and continued their magical assault. Fire, acid, lightning, ice, magma. Every conceivable offensive bit of magic was hurled at the magical sphere of protection. Meanwhile, on the ledges above. Belana, Torin, and Rin Tin Tin watched as the battle began. Rin wished to join in the fight, but Torin informed him of their immunity to non-magical attacks. "We've got to do something!" Rin exclaimed. They watched as the demons took to the air. One of them flew up towards them, backwards. It didn't see them upon the ledge. Another had circled about the battle and was hurling magic from behind. Torin was struck with an idea. "Belana, Rin. Get the fire ready to throw on that one below us on the ground. I'll take this flyin one." As Belana and Rin lighted flaming oil vials, Torin got out a pair of his 'sand' filled sacks. He struck his flint and steel to the string, and when that was lit, lighted another one. He grabbed the grappling hook and line from his back and lodged one on it. "Get ready lads." Torin whirled the hook a couple of times, "NOW!!" Torin launched the hook through the air as the other two hurled oil at the one below. The demon below burst into flames and began running frantically and shrieking in a high pitched tone. Torin's throw landed with a enough force to pierce the rubbery skin of the flying one. It sunk into it's chest when the fuse went off. He promptly exploded as well, but close enough to knock the three of them over and showering them in chunks of black goo. Torin shook his head and recovered, realizing a second black powder bomb was lit as his feet. Without enough time to grab it and throw it, he kicked it off the ledge. It exploded in mid-air, next to the flaming demon. He too splattered into a shower of black gore. The Palace Servant turned away from the battle to renew his chant and finish his sacrifice. He may not have gotten the size of gate he'd hoped, but he would settle for what he could. When he looked at Lyssa, he saw one of her locks undone, and the other was wiggling as if someone were working it. He shifted his gaze into the nether world and looked upon the blonde Lady Protector, Alaina. She was frantically trying to pick the lock while invisible. He grinned maniacally and reached out with his hand toward her heart. But before he could summon her heart to his hand, a broadsword appeared and lanced out to his arm, neatly chopping it off. Strome stood beside him, his invisibility dispelled. A growl from the abyss resounded through the cavern as the palace servant's body inflated to three times its size. Lumps and nodes bulged out and promptly burst as limbs and body sprouted from the shredded skin, showering Strome and the women behind him in chunks of red gore. Lyssa, almost free from the shackles, recognized the demon growing before them. Revealed in his true form was the Demonlord Tr'istall'lik. Standing a good twelve feet tall, this lord sported a humanoid body with two legs, four arms and two great dragon-like wings. Two arms were human sized, long fingered and nimble for spell casting. One arm was giant sized with massive rippling muscles, the other also quite large, but ending in a giant pincer. Red and scaly skin for armor, and a grotesque humanoid head, its mouth was lined with fangs dripping with a green liquid which sizzled and burned the ground it fell upon. Behind Strome, Alaina screamed in fear, that piercing shrill that only women seemed capable of creating. As the beast reared over him, Strome only raised an eyebrow. The stoic woodsman swivelled the straw in his mouth, tipped his boonie hat non-chalantly and brought his broadsword into two hands. He casually added over his shoulder, "Alaina. Be quick." Strome's calm voice gave Alaina the measure of strength necessary to finish her job. As he set his fighting stance and paced back and forth, the beast called out to its slaves. It's voice, deeper, but much more sinister than Khazakh's, rumbled across the cavern. "Slaves. Kill them." Upon the ledge above, the three Lord Protectors heard a resounding clatter, a noise generated by the Aruaki families who picked up digging tools and now walked out of their cave rooms straight towards them. Rolling up to their feet from the demons' detonations, the warriors took up fighting stances. Rin Tin Tin looked ready to spring forward. "Don't kill them!" Belana called to him. "They're just farmers. They've been charmed." Rin, about to run one through, held back. "What do you suggest then?" Torin backed away from the people, "I'll go help the others if you two think you can hold them back." Belana tested her good arm and glanced at Rin and nodded. Rin nodded back. "Go Torin." Belana said. "The two of us can hold them on the ramp." Torin charged off down the ramp, rifling through his gear to pull out another powder bomb, as the resounding ring of metal clashed behind him. Big and slow, the demonlord found it difficult to hit the well trained woodsman. But it's magic was much swifter. Bolts of acid lanced out at Strome who was hit in the arm and leg. The rangers arm was burned to the bone on his bicep and was now hanging useless at his side! The other bolt clipped his leg and he was now limping, his sword held loosely in one arm, as Strome's face twisted in pain, but not a word escaped his lips. Seeing the woodsman fighting the agonizing pain, the demonlord took the opening. His huge pincer lanced out to grab the ranger. Ducking under the blow, Strome ignored his pain and rolled up inside of the creatures reach, taking two swift cuts with his sword. Both seemed ineffective against the creature whose wounds instantly healed up. Realizing he still needed magic to harm this beast, the ranger decided to act as he did before. Strome twisted to the left out of harms way as the gargantuan fist thundered in and cracked the ground he stood on. He focused all his energy into a backhand chop and dismembered one of the small arms which had begun to cast again. The Demonlord Tr'istal'lik howled and lashed out in a wide arc with its giant arm. Strome attempted to deflect the blow and use its energy to roll out from under the creature, but his leg failed him and he tripped over the demon's foot. The pincer lanced in and grabbed Strome by the waist, hoisting him to the dripping maw of the demonlord. Strome struggled little, saving his energy for another blow. Two fangs, dripping with acid, pierced his chest. This time, the stoic yelled, but he unleashed his agony in a fierce backhand slice, hacking through the fangs. He reversed his attack and whirled it over into a blunt stab, right into it's eye! The last thing the woodsman felt before slipping into unconsciousness was the impact of the ground as he fell from the demon's grip. Torin dashed into the shield of protection with Khazakh, Ms. Calfskin and Adie, to avoid the magical assaults of the three remaining demons. Having little to do, Khazakh and Ms. Calfskin welcomed the opportunity to throw flaming oil and grenades at the demons. The demons quickly flew out of harms reach and continued raining spells upon Adie's shield. The flame haired manager continued to hold the burning metal despite her great pain. She was on her knees, grasping her other wrist for as much control as possible. She refused to drop it. Then suddenly, the spells stopped raining down. The three LP's glanced around hurriedly and found why. The slaves had started coming down the other ramp as well and were closing in on their position. Torin saw Belana and Rin running down to their position to join them. The demons briefly turned their magical assault upon the two warriors as they ran to the circle. They were singed when they entered, but the demons only had the opportunity to hurl a few globes of fire. The warriors turned to fending off the Aruaki. Khazakh, realizing how ineffective his spear would be, decided to relieve himself of the weapon. Alaina finished freeing Lyssa and dashed over to protect Strome's limb, broken body. She took up her fighting stance as the demon yanked out the broadsword from its eye and flung it aside. The demon looked over at Lyssa, his one good eye widening. As he stepped up to Alaina to finish the job with a quick bite, a searing pain lanced through his head. Khazakh's throw was brilliant, almost knocking the demonlord completely over. Alaina did not hesitate and leaped forward, slashing at it's other small hand and disabling it. She also stabbed it in it's wounded, but healing, eye for good measure. The demonlord, seeming to become frantic and did waste its time with the little woman before him. Tr'istal'lik feigned an attack with his pincer and hauled back with his huge fist. Lyssa crawled off the altar as Alaina hurled past her from the impact of the demon's huge fist. She looked over to Alaina worriedly, who did not move. Lyssa Steelwing turned back to the demonlord, who was snapping the spear off and extracting it from his head. Her eye's narrowed in hatred as she quickly decided the fate of this beast. Lyssa Steelwing, free of the enchanted chains, began to change form. Her neck elongated as did her arms and legs. A tail grew out from behind her as two wings also sprouted from her back. Her tattered dress melded into her body which also bulged out as muscles grew and enlarged. Claws sprouted from her massive hands and feet as steel colored scales rippled across her body. The muscled form of Tr'istal'lik turned to slay his sacrifice, but found his sight rising, following the sleek lines of a serpentine neck ending in the head of a dragon. He snarled a challenge at this new foe twice his size, and stepped forward confidently. Lyssa's lip curled up over a gleaming tooth, a rumbling throaty growl escaping past her teeth. Before her foe made the first move, she danced to the side and whipped her tail about with impossible speed for such a huge creature. Tr'istal'lik found his legs swept out from under him as he crashed onto his back. When he looked up, the gaping maw of razor teeth was boring down on his head. He reached out with his pincer arm and grabbed her neck, halting that deadly bite a scant foot from his head, jaws snapping. As he hauled back his giant arm for a crushing blow to her head, two massive claws gripped it, and in one mighty pull, ripped it off of his body. Reeling from the pain, he dared not lose his grip on her neck. But when he recovered, she had pinned him to the floor with a massive paw. With little options, the demonlord leaned forward and bit Lyssa's snout. Thought his fangs were gone and could not pierce her skin, the acid dripping from his maw burned her severly. Lyssa shrieked in pain. With her free hand, she grasped the pincer arm and unleashed a mighty tug of her neck while simultaneously pulling with her claw. The result was his last arm being torn from his body, with which she began to bludgeon his head. Having stunned him from the head beating, Lyssa stepped back and drew sucked in a deep breath. Tr'istal'lik's last sight was the searing blast of dragon fire as his body was incinerated into black ashes. The Lord Protectors formed a circle about Adie to protect her from the blows of the Aruaki who could disrupt her concentration. A flurry of melee erupted about them as they disarmed and sapped the people one by one. The LP's stumbled about on their unconscious bodies in their attempts to keep the others at bay. A couple of minutes later though, the people suddenly all reeled back and shook their heads in confusion. They stopped attacking. The Lord Protectors looked around in confusion as well, only to be stunned by the sight they saw. Finishing her breath attack, Lyssa looked up to see three demon's remaining, all of which began launching globes of fire and bolts of lightning. The magic rolled off her harmlessly as it did all dragons. Taking in another breath, she proceeded to burn the other demons. When silence finally fell upon the cavern, Adie dropped the burning metal to the ground and canceled her spell. She proceeded to bandage her hand. When finished she too had to stop and marvel at their friend who had hidden her true identity from everyone for years. Lyssa polymorphed back into the shape of a human. Her only mark from her ordeal, a small burn on the tip of her nose. She could only smile and shrug apologetically at the stares from her friends. * * * Adie hurried all her friends and Lord Protectors to the Isle to recoup and heal, but not before King Mickeal had decreed that she and the others join him to honor their effort after they recovered from the ordeal. Strome had died that day, but as all Lord Protectors, he was resurrected by the Lady Greywand. From what Adie learned of Lyssa and the others, she was worried what might happen if their group met the Lady of the Isle. But nothing came of it. Alaina also was seriously injured in addition to Belana's arm broken. But her other friends and warriors had come out with only a few cuts and bruises. Adie considered themselves lucky. Had this greater demon Tr'istal'lik opened his gate, not only would the palace have been overrun with demons, but also the entirety of Aruak City. Possibly even Seam and Solven. Whether or not further investigation by the King revealed that Lady Greywand was behind this, the manager could not help but worry about who could and would wield such evil agents and methods. Mistress of the Isle or not, there was someone out there willing to, and powerful enough, to destroy a whole city for unknown reasons. spotlight for dm 11 whatever went into ardivent last time, I think maybe sixteen? In fact, it seems to me that as our choices get limited in the Challenger Champions we should not worry about recognition points anymore and just agree that as long as you challenge within that class you are good to go. This would go for Challenger Champs and Duelmasters a like. Lets toss out the notion of up or down challenging once we cross into the CCs. What say you all? Doc Steele, you friendly neighborhood Delarquan SPY REPORT Greetings, Warriors of ARUAK CITY. Allow this humble servant Novgorodny Vir to give you a respite from the fights in the form of this Spyreport. BULLDOGS? Who? TUFT TUGGERS is the top team these days, buddies! SCARLET KNIGHTS II after a sorry 0-2-0 might want to consider abandoning the sands and taking up singing the 'Can't fight no more' blues! What's a move up by 4 you ask? (alright, maybe you didn't ask) Cause for celebration, according to TUFT TUGGERS. IMMORTALS posted a nice gain, to come in 4th. Everybody loves a winner... Practice pays for SAFFRON SKUNK, who pummelled BARRICADE, to pocket 22 points. Win some, lose some. Speaking of which, SAFFRON SKUNK was winsome, after beating BARRICADE and seeing him lose 15 points. ONEWOLF found out being ARUAK CITY's Duelmaster isn't all nuts and berries, receiving 5 challenges! The arena was more crowded than usual this time, as MAGENTA MAGGOT faced ARUAK CITY's Duelmaster. Those who hoped for a new Duelmaster were disappointed by MAGENTA MAGGOT, of ANIMAL FARM, who despite a 13-11-0 couldn't overcome ARUAK CITY's Number 1. Word has it one team in ARUAK CITY is taking speech lessons to try to bore their opponent to death. I'll bet it works. And how sociable are ARUAK CITY's warriors? Come, let us see. Like a horde of jackals fleeing from the lion, so did the "warriors" in ARUAK CITY avoid BULLDOGS. The warriors of BULLDOGS found their efforts at combat frustrated as TUFT TUGGERS apparently had more important things to do than fight. Call 'im brash! Call 'im brassy! Call 'im brave! Call 'im sassy! ARVIN LARN will face GOLDEN GLOW, up by 29. Aaaah, just call 'im dead meat. It's not whether you win or lose, but how many points you get (6). Right, ARVIN LARN? HORSEFLY found himself challenged by a warrior 19 below: MAXIM SOREL. MAXIM SOREL of ORDO HERETICUS kept his wits as he defeated HORSEFLY. Is there life after death? Pragmatics (and warriors) know there is death after life! Citizens of ARUAK CITY, be sure to settle your debts with SPECIAL! of MANIACAL TUFTS. He's relocating to the Dark Arena and has other things on his mind! The manager at MANIACAL TUFTS must have some new strategy for sending SPECIAL!, a warrior with 15-5-2, to the Dark Arena. Watch this space! Admittedly Death waits for no one, but me thinks AUTOMATON of MANIACAL TUFTS (6-3-0) is being sent off a little prematurely. Ask not a spymaster for counsel, for he will pontificate long after you have fallen into an unconscious stupor. All good things must come to an end. As the seasons change, and the creatures of the wild change also, so do I feel a yearning to leave this place. ARUAK CITY, I leave you now. The Duelmaster has agreed to foot my bill at The Bulldog Inn. Duelmaster. It has been quite the while. DMs drink free at The bulldog Inn. Kennelworth, Proprietor Kaelen, tsk, tsk. We are almost always avoiding you. We, I our old age, have so little tuft to offer. Kennelworth Soultaker? Soultaker! My my, so long ago it seems? How is your pony tail doing, Sir? Be careful with Doc's whiskey, by the way. It would seem that sarsaparilla would seem more befitting of one of your type. (wink) By the way, welcome to Aruak City, The Heart & Soul Of Andoria. May your stay be long and prosperous. Kennelworth Lord X, WELCOME back! And good luck to you. Kennelworth Dracula, well done. You sank your teeth into that one. Man's Best Friend Dirk, I really know how to challenge them, don't you think? Flea Bag Thriss, yu takem peace pipe. Yu bad! Chief Sitting Bull (sitting in the loser's position on the arena sands) Jon Flute, bark, bark. Bark Fresno Fats, are you and Soultaker picking on The Bulldog's most famous loser? Leather Hide (wishing it were plate) Blimey! Neverwake Champeen! Mino (sending an ale Onewolf's way) Farshot, yes life is difficult for us "in over their heads types" in these upper ranks. I wonder who will die first? Magenta Maggot Fiona, surely you jest? It is hard to get Mino to commit to anything - especially a female! The Animal Farm Publicity Agent Jackhammer, hey, thanks for the challenge and win! Doc seems to be being quite helpful to us "critters" of late. Mino sends his thanks. Magenta Maggot Yamamato, something smelled in that one, and for a change it wasn't me! Saffron Skunk Rommel, just for you and your boss! (wink) Tangerine Toad - retired Golden Glow beats Youseff. Black Eye pounds Slag black and blue! And YOU lose to Lustig, Pink Eye? What a Bimbo! Purple People Eater, Proud Colorific Manager personal ads 11 Charlotte Chubs--How ironic we should match up. You bear the name of my manager\'s hometown.--Gravetwist All--Just stopping in for some timing fights.--Master Darque, mngr. of Ethereal Angels Onewolf -- Looks like Mr. Steele called in a bit of extra muscle. Nice showing upon your return, taking the throne. Congratulations. -- Kaelen, for Tuft Tuggers Tangerine Toad -- You were a very fine warrior, well fought and congratulations. Mino will miss your contributions. -- Kaelen Mino -- Nice 3 turn record! -- Kaelen Scribe & Kennelworth -- Maybe Fandil and Adie could use a bit of close in protection, Violet might do well. -- Kaelen, for Tankesh Farshot -- Just think, from the records I've perused, we've had times when several of our warriors were ranked way too high because of only up-challenging and avoiding those below. Talk about a tough challenge! At least you have a bit of an advantage in a manner, Aruak has always been full of warriors your style can take advantage of. -- Airk, for Tuft Tuggers ps. Nice moves out there, well fought. Soultaker -- A sighting? Here? Of you? In Aruak? Good to have you. Somehow I sense that you run Chunk-n-Dales. That name seems your style. -- Kaelen, for Tankesh ps. I don't know what fruit shop you walked into outside of town (you mentioned 'hamlet', Aruak is the biggest city in Alastari), but you'll find your real liquor at the Bulldog Inn. Adie and Kennelworth keep almost anything you can imagine on stock. Mostly typical beer, ale, and mead, but hard liquor is highly available, and the mixed drinks you seemed to highlight with delight. You'll find the exotic too. Perhaps some sake? Scribe -- We're now sending our spots to the 'other' scribe who posts them directly. No more HAL being crushed by our oversized spots. -- Tuft Tuggers Lord Xiang -- Tankesh would have given you a hearty welcome upon your return, so I give you the same respect. Welcome back, we hope you can stay. -- Kaelen, for Tuft Tuggers Arvin Larn -- Not bad for a newbie, eh? Yeah, I'm talking about me. Sure I lost, but who gained the most? <huge grin> -- Johnny Koro Cloud -- Kind of one sided, you should try taking a few more shots at your opponents. -- Kaelen Khalhums Dwarf -- I beat the Frawd! Looc! Now I'm even more ralupop! -- Donald Delia's Gone -- I'm really liking that weapon! -- Danika Tobius -- I was quite angry with the Arenamaster when these pathetic 'weapons' I am supposed to wield in this ignoble sport BOTH broke and he would not let me quit the fight. You will be spared my verbal wrath for I now have unfinished business with that pathetic dog... -- Fiona Saraya Steel -- <looks pissed> I missed my final chance... I will have to gather another life at the Dark Arena... -- Special! Pony -- I think my golem has finished it's usefullness. -- Fiona for Automaton Margaret Alton -- Sneaky, slipping your challenge in on the off-chance that I would run. But you failed to recognize my superior skill. Obviously I had nothing to learn from you... -- Zyn'kyr Violet Vulture -- You did very well to break both scimitars, I salute your victory. I'll be looking for a rematch; Doc was none too pleased about this particular beating. -- Farshot Fiona -- Luck is a fickle mistress. This last fight I broke both weapons and punched myself out against a Consortium warrior! -- Jackhammer Soultaker -- I had forgotten how much my Andorian friends love to celebrate one of my loses. Feels almost like old times. Every once and a while a blind squirrel finds a nut, and every once in a while a TP Scum breaks all an Aimed Blows weapons and wins the fight. I'll grant you that swallowing this improbable loss has been difficult considering my historical troubles against the Consortium in this arena. Lucky for me I have old friends like you to form a bad loss support group for me. Are you running here now? Which team is yours? -- Doc Steele Soultaker -- You breeze through town, kick me when I am down, and drink my single malt scotch at the bar!?! Please tell me you are running a team here! -- Doc Steele personals for dm 11 Automaton -- Huh, I didn't know "maniacal" was the same as "mechanical." And you're not at all tufty. I was disappointed. Not a whisker, not a hair. Heck. -- Pony Kaelen Thunderheart -- I still think you should get that checked. Nobody's heart is supposed to beat like that. Although I've heard Dark Root will do it to you. -- Koro Cloud Benjamin -- Ah, you're a tall one. But you know what they say, the taller they are, the thinner the air around the head. -- Horsefly Bark -- (sigh) Bite, bite, bite. I don't need this. -- Jon Flute What's the deal with this "Persistent Beggar" type? He couldn't fight, he couldn't cheat, and he WHINED the whole time. -- Selia Storm Our congratulations to Special! -- Leeta and Krill Cavalry Brown Nose -- Well, no, but I bet you could teach me a thing or two about creative bookkeeping. -- an Embezzling Scribe Wheat Wildebeast -- You were inhospitable. -- Daff Kurlo, Tourist from Mordant personal ads dm 11 Jonny Ash -- I hereby hand the title of "The Bruised" over to you. Good scrap there. -- Arvin "formerly the Bruised" Larn Golden Glow -- This will be continued. -- Youseff PS -- Only two shots to the head...you're slipping. Pink Eye -- You can only hid for so long. -- Lustig PS -- Pain is but one of many paths through which you will journey thrrough. Ask and I will make yours a short one. Fiona -- Mi'lady <bows> thanks for the learns and for the reasonably clean fight. -- Tobius PS -- Many thanks for the aspirin your runner brought over afterwards. Sledge -- Perhapy you are not familiar with the traditions established here in Aruak City. Control your thirst for blood unless you wish to bathe in your own. -- Maxim PS -- After all no one wants to be in the same boat with Purple People Eater's stable.
