Notes from the arena champ.
I know, I know, I know. Not very gentlemanly of me. Challenging Sugar Jane once to
become an unlikely stealth Duelmaster; totally acceptable. But a second challenge,
as Duelmaster? Not very gentlemanly at all. Well [bleep] gentility. You ever lived
in the shadow of a girl half your height? You ever been beaten down by a Shewish
midget able to jump around like pop rocks in cola? That damn little single-lettered
sister of mine has been a pebble in my shoe since the time my height was still marked
by a pencil scratch on the wall. So farewell, goodbye, good riddance my puny Sister
X. Don't let the doggie door hit you on the way out.... [prolonged pause]
As for me [flexing his biceps; not nearly as big as his head], what does it matter?
Opponents will come, opponents will go. I'll raise my head far above you cloudy
minded dreamers and high minded jinxters. All your silent thunder and rusty parts
have no effect on me dear friends. I live and breathe in the stratosphere called...
Duelmaster.
Riztab's finest -- Brother Zero
SPY REPORT
Hail and well met warriors of RIZTAB! Know me for who I am, Zontani Sharp Eyes,
Spymaster extraordinaire of all Alastari. Fortune did not smile upon MARVEL HEROES
this time out who this turn suffered a fall into 12th position in the wake of a 0-0-0
round. Warriors--remember that glory waits always around the corner! Witness how
this week SWEET MAGIC went 2-3-0 to move up 6 in the rankings. JUNE BUG caught the
eye of many in the gladiatorial commission as he skillfully bested WINTER SHADOWS and
was awarded 21 points in recognition. In one of the week's more notable duels, JUNE
BUG put down WINTER SHADOWS, causing her to lose 11 points of recognition in the
process. Most watched of the fights this week, the spotlight was on MACHIAVELLI as
he bore arms against the challenge of reigning Duelmaster BROTHER ZERO. The city has
turned out in honor of MACHIAVELLI, for with his arena victory he may now lay claim
to the highest position in the city! Heed this! A seer has warned that if exactly 6
die in duels this week, the whole city shall perish! Just remember...5 or 7!
But come now, let us look deeper into the maze of contention and crossed blades
that is city RIZTAB. My inside sources tell me that the team to beat in RIZTAB these
days is DREAMERS. At least, most blades in town are looking to avoid them. Methinks
more than a few here could name the guild it was that spent the better part of last
week avoiding DREAMERS. Indeed it was STEEL THUNDER. Mighty fighters cannot but
expect competition from those below. DEXTER take warning! You have more than a few
enemies in RIZTAB. A match that raised a few eyebrows at the games this week, it
seems that HUME posted a challenge against the more highly recognized TWISTED CLOWN.
The results, you ask? Well, the firebrand HUME was defeated by TWISTED CLOWN.
Remember warriors, this is the discipline of steel.
What warrior does not hone his years, impatiently waiting for the moment of his
foe's mortality? Fate is a fickle mistress. She showers the miserable with fortune
but sets enemies against the victorious. Remember this!

I am back in the arena and thinking back to those days in 1984 where I was a
novice and clueless manager.
Now, 22 years later it looks like I am an ancient and once again clueless
manager.
I am looking to recover some old warriors. Since none of them are Aimed Blows,
they are no threat to win anything. I just want to see how they turned out.
