Notes from the arena champ.
Did you see that? I declared myself the best warrior in Dullens and bam! Here I am
on the throne. Some say that the gods punish hubris, but you know what? They don't.
They are sick and tired of us mortals and our constant complaining and pleading.
"Why do bad things happen to good people?" "Please help my chickens lay eggs, my
family needs to eat." Please. Have some self-confidence and self-respect, get out
there and get things done. The gods favor those who help themselves. That's what my
father used to say before he kicked me out of the house at the age of 12.
Dullens, you sicken me. "Bashing Feline can't be stopped in the MVP race!" "Mommy
Dearest is unbeatable!" Get off your humps and make it happen! Now that ST-Stump
Run is about the only one who doesn't make me want to kill myself. He came up with a
good plan, he's sticking to it, and I think he might just succeed. And if he fails?
Sure, he'll still be a failure, but at least he'll have the knowledge that he tried,
unlike the rest of you sacks of refuse.

SPY REPORT
It's me, The Unknown Spymaster here with my bag to give you the news on last
week's fights. It was a tough week for KATHOUSE, to drop 5 places in the rankings.
Coming up with a solid 3-2-0 outing, FORCE OF FIVE has advanced 7 places in the
rankings. Advancing in the rankings was STYLE OVER SUBSTANCE who went from last
turn's 29-31-3, to this week's record of 33-32-3. Hey everybody, watch out for
PL-CARINAE, who flew up 23 points in the rankings after mashing OEDIPUS TP like a
melon. Keep your eye on this gal. Ya know, some days it doesn't pay to walk out on
the sands. BASIC AZZWHUPIN lost to SIR DOUGLAS LUNGE and drops 16 points. Our
battling duelmaster PRISONER LU has managed to hold the title, fending off PS-SHORT
SPOKE's none too subtle advances. Better luck next time, KIRKWOOD 1. 4 out of 5
gladiators surveyed protect the body, so try and avoid aiming at that location.
Let's dig a little deeper into what's happening in the DULLENS arena. And hey,
kiddies, those of you who didn't avoid PERFECTION QUEST 13, please raise you hand.
Wow. Does DULLENS really have that many liars? Okay, so I may not be funny, but
catch KIRKWOOD 1's act in the arena. Those acrobats seem to be fairly deft at
running from PERFECTION QUEST 13. And who is this PRISONER TP you ask, with 51
points and a 9-4-0 record. Ooh, the tales I could tell! Getting lots of flowers
from sympathetic fans was WISHFULL WALL, who was successfully challenged by WANTON
SLAUGHTER who had a mere 20 points more than WISHFULL WALL. Definition of petty:
WANTON SLAUGHTER won victory over WISHFULL WALL, a mismatch of 20 points. Can any
one out there say 'weasel'? Oh well, just saying ST-STUMP RUN will do. It
challenged 17 points down to trash TP-PAPER. Definition of petty: ST-STUMP RUN
subdued TP-PAPER, a mismatch of 17 points.
Death is kind of like a new puppy: he's always around wanting to play. (Ha
Zontani, how's that for a wise saying?). Big deal, so PLUNGING FELINE got mashed in
the Dark Arena. With its face it was more at home with the trolls than with us.
(Waka waka). Congrats to PRISONER TP for revenging the death of his teammate (but
more importantly, feeding WS-WIREHAIR a bit of dirt). Knowing when to use the right
tactics at the proper time is a very important step on the road to Duelmaster.
Well, that wasn't too bad; Alarond told me that the people in DULLENS have no
sense of humor. Or maybe that they were senseless. C'mon, Leadfoot, let's make some
tracks. And remember, you can pick your friends and you can pick your--(loud boos),

To all those lookin' for some easy pickins: I, Elfwine, manager of The Shallowship,
the most feared team in all of Jhelum, invite all who seek wide open spaces for pubs
and other such establishments of limited debauchery, to visit this deserted city and
help me clear up some of the dust. I'm just about ready to have my guys face off
against each other to get some new action. Guess I'd better join a tournament or
something...hmmmm, there's a thought.

The 2006 Mordanti Alliance Olympics are off to a grand start! With seventeen teams
declared, running under eight different flags (not to mention six additional non-
Olympic teams present), it is looking to be as tough as any previous Olympiad, if not
more! Olympians petitioned the Commission to make an allowance for late entries, and
the Commission agreed, and will allow new entrants to partake, as long as they are
active by Round 3 (T546, due May 29th). So if you wish to enter, please email your
intentions to amicitia@gwi.net with team name, manager name, and affiliation
(alliance name or independent), or show up in Mordant (DM-1) on, or before, May 29th
and place your declarations in the newsletter!
