DUELMASTER'S COLUMN
Notes from the arena champ.
Avenging Antelope sat in the old rocking chair on the front porch of the Satan's
Kingdom ranch in Dullens staring in amazement at the stout young man in front of him.
"I'm here, sir, ta be a gee-lad-ee-ay-torr. My pa sent me here."
AA marvelled at the fellow. He was all of 5'5" tall and at least that wide. He
had a broad, plain face and fists the size of hams. According to Bloated Beaver,
he'd passed all the physicals and even the written exam, though just barely. He was
quite the specimen.
Recently Zalgor Prigg had stopped by and was also very interested in the
recruit, disappointed that arena rules prohibited trading amongst rival teams.
But he was 100% Satan's Kingdom.
The edict had come down that after his transformation, the young man was going
to be held for the Rookies Tournament, but that they could teach him to work the
ranch and at least benefit from him in that way. AA was astonished that the cattle
seemed to be afraid of him and he could move them around without being on a horse.
The Duelmaster wasn't 100% sold on the new recruit, but he was definitely better
than the mouth breathers they'd been getting.
Bloated Beaver popped his head out of the kitchen just then. "What are we going
to merge him with, AA?"
AA scratched his beard. "I think a badger. He's about in the same proportions
as one and the natural badger tenacity should help him in the arena. Sign the kid
up. Tell him his stage name's going to be Buick Badger. He's gonna be a star!"
SPY REPORT
You elder fighters surely remember me. The younger ones may call me Olaf
Modeen. I return to DULLENS once again! Woof! DAGGERS DEEP were a bunch of dogs
after HOUSE OF CARDS got through with 'em! 2nd ain't so sweet as 1st! What's with
ROBIN DYAN? She actually beat HARRY POTTER AND THE's ROLLING STONES, and walked away
with 13 more points from the fight. Laughs were big at HOUSE OF CARDS while they
watched ROBIN DYAN clobber ROLLING STONES. He lost 8 points and got bruised from
objects thrown from the stands. Try as he might, DARKWIND wasn't good enough at
persuading AVENGING ANTELOPE to step down from the Duelmaster's throne... Advice to
fighters with a 1 will--give up fighting!
No matter the time or place, men will always duel. How well I know the feeling
of being in the most avoided team! Don't fall out of practive, THE CONFESSIORS! The
bums at SATAN'S KINGDOMS couldn't face the challenges from THE CONFESSIORS! No
excuse for that! How well I know the feeling of being the most challenged warrior,
ROLLING STONES! Don't make idle boasts, they may come back to haunt you.
Warriors of DULLENS unite. You have only your games to lose! How long have I
been here? I got people to see, places to go...
Who knows what the future holds for a warrior. More fights, there's no doubt.
