"Interesting," muttered Arenamaster Harkon of Aradi (currently calling itself
Collusion Cove). He had, as usual, decamped to Tobir for the duration of TOGS and
was now relaxing in the office of his counterpart, Arenamaster Vashku of Tobir.
True, Vashku was a demon, but it was the "arenamaster" part that counted. He glanced
up, saw that Vashku was not paying attention, and rattled the newspaper in his hands,
flapping the pages around and snapping them into convenient folds. "Vashku, listen!"
He began to read from the leading article.

          + ]H[ + ---:--- + ]H[ The Andorian Star #101 ]H[ + ---:--- + ]H[ +

Iaye:
In an interview yesterday, Senator Sedalia stated that he had gone to Andor with
the intention of requesting the King's aid for the coastal areas battered by the
dramatic and tempestuous waves resulting from the sinking of Krael.
"I and my colleagues felt that the devastation along the coast is properly a
matter for the King's attention," the senator and lord protector said. "We did not
go seeking a hand-out, but only a helping hand."
A spokesman at the Royal Palace, who declined to identify himself when queried
on Sedalia's visit, said that the matter had been "taken under advisement." No
further development of this position could be obtained in Andor.
Senator Sedalia's manager, Lenpro of Iaye, told this reporter that, "We will
pursue this matter."
Anyone with information that might be of assistance is invited to communicate
with the Andorian Star office.

"What do you think, Vashku?" Harkon asked.
Vashku raised one eyebrow. "That it's about time spring arrived," he said. "I
have had entirely enough snow. Winter wonderland--phaugh!"
"You just do this to be provoking, don't you?"
"Of course. I am a demon, after all. As to what I think..." he flicked the
edge of the newspaper with a finger, "I wonder that you read this rag. I've seen
Stars stacked on the counter next to the cash box in the greengrocer's and--"
"It's just trying to reach all the people," Harkon said almost defensively.
"Just because it's readily available doesn't mean it lies."
Vashku laughed and shrugged. "I think you people of Aradi got out of the
Andorian League just in time," he said. "I mistrust kings in principle, but this
one...spends too much time associating with the Grey Witch. Ominous, that."
"It could mean trouble for Tobir, though, YOU'RE still Andorian."
Vashku leaned back to stare at the ceiling, breathing small jets of fire out of
his nostrils as he thought. Finally he straightened again. "No, I don't think so.
We're far enough away from the centers of trouble--Andor and Aruak City, at a guess--
that it probably won't touch us here."
From the corner, Jorge Black Orc said, "Sounds boring."
Harkon jumped a little, the orc had been silent so long he'd forgotten that he
and Vashku weren't alone. "There's nothing wrong with boring! If you wanted
excitement, you could have stayed in Arad-- ah, Collusion Cove, you know."
"TOGS isn't exciting," the orc said. "TOGS is insane. That's different."

                                      SPY REPORT

It's me, The Unknown Spymaster here with my bag to give you the news on last
week's fights. Hey everybody, watch out for ECHANOSARAH, who flew up 21 points in
the rankings after mashing WESTON like a melon. Keep your eye on this gal. Ya know,
some days it doesn't pay to walk out on the sands. WESTON was beat by ECHANOSARAH
and drops 17 points. Well, everybody's pal MOLYNEUX moved his record to 26-19-0 by
defeating GINKOR in the Duelmaster's Title Bout and gaining 5 recognition points.
Can you believe they are paying me 10 gold to deliver this stuff?
But enough of that bunch, let's get on to the wimps who like to avoid battle!
Being a spy is great--other people die and you spend the rest of the day
drinking to their memory. Better tanked than dead! Congrats to ECHANOSARAH for
revenging the death of hers teammate (but more importantly, feeding WESTON a bit of
dirt). Remember: alliances are great, but try and take your ally in the arena with
you and see what happens.
Well, there's the manager of the TOBIR giving me the 'cut' sign (or is that
'They're going to strangle you in the alley?). C'mon, Leadfoot, let's make some
tracks. Its been real, and its been fun, but it hasn't been real fun...-- The
Unknown Spymaster

Molyneux -- Why do I keep being surprised to see that you haven't graduated long
since? Has the Commission got a down on you? Go! -- Ginkor

Weston -- I will lay the deepest curse on you, that everyone shall know you are
unkind to dogs. Nothing is worse, nothing carries a deeper and dark stigma, than
being known as a dog-hater. -- Ghost of Lady Mutt

Stewart -- Gosh, that was such a rush! I don't think I've ever seen a human sit up
and beg to a dog before. Cool! Thanks. -- Whole Mutt

George Foremun -- Ah! But you weren't fore-womun, and given our styles, she who hits
first may well win the match. But (encouragingly) you learned well, and you're still
young. You can do it. -- Echanosarah

Sir Gnatalot -- (attempting to look suitably chastened) Oh, was that your slipper?
I thought it was just an old discarded slipper. (pause to lick the mangled leather)
Maybe you can make it well again? -- Mr Fang

Frosty the Snowmun -- Gosh, that's awful, killed by the Veteran Mercenary. He always
seemed like such a nice guy. -- Scruff

something. It's me now. -- Jorja, The Doghouse
